An Old Bilbo minifig would be my guess.

What, he has even less to do with this game, and would be the 3rd Bilbo figure, It would be a waste, and I believ we'll get more Bilbos in the sets Anyway. Galadriel has A fair bit of Play in the hobbit.

My 4 30216 Lake Town Guards shipped today from TRU so canceling the orders is off the table. :)

I got that same good news today!!! I'm excited since it is really the first time I have bought Lego anything without seeing it first, so it will be a total surprise unless pics go up before my shipment arrives. I know its doubtful, but it would be awesome if one of the printed shields from LTC is included.

4th! Has Deathleech's hard work gone to nothing?!

Old Bilbo was about as prominent in The Hobbit as 2nd age Elrond was in FOTR, plus he appeared a few times in those movies too but not a set (and unlikely ever) so it wouldn't surprise me if we got an "old" Bilbo. I'm not expecting it though, and I would prefer something else. Like a 2nd age Sauron... Better stop there, or this will turn into a wish list.

New sets are being spotted in Targets in Australia.

Any idea on prices?

Mirkwood Elf Army was seen at $60 as expected. Laketown was reportedly an uncertain $80 but possibly not. I think it'll be $90. Other 2 sets not seen yet. They will probably be $35-40 & $110ish.

Regular price for Dol Guldor Battle is $100, currently $80 with Target's 20% off sale.

Thanks for that. Not quite as bad as it could be. $60 is still a lot for the MEA though.

That's actually not bad value in terms of Aus price. Thanks.

Weird about it only being for the first two films, unless the announcement is confused because of the old spring release. Maybe they'll do a complete Middle-earth game with the last one on or something.

The figure would have to have no new molds (Lego LotR was the first time Elrond's sword was seen, but it is not unique to that set). If there was a minifigue, I'd guess it would be Bilbo in his dressing gown or waistcoat, or maybe Elrond in his armour or Thorin in his new clothes.

Will probably be one of the main protagonists in the movie if they do another minifig. Kind of defeats the point of the game if its only 2/3 of the whole story... Would've been. Better to wait another 6 months tbh.

But the wait would have been 12 months. If you do think its better, you're free to wait uintill all the movies are covered.

I got a question. Is Azog the first minifigure to have a nose?

No, I know at least one more: the clown from CMF

And, ironically, Voldemort (the slits of his snake-like are printed)

I´ve got a question, maybe it was already answered, but anyway - why TLG didnt created proper weaponry for minifigs (Hobbit LOTR) like Orcrist, Glamdring, Anduril, Rohirim sword etc. like in the game? Its really big disapointment that they give a lot of effort to create individual and unique hairpieces, armour, or printing on torso..but these key elements is missing. It will be much more recognizible if the put anduril in Aragorn hands instead of regular longsword...

A lot of Star Wars characters have noses (e.g. Jabba, the Ewoks, Wookiees, etc.), but most of them are alien or fantasy being based. The only human based minifigs with noses are those which shall not be mentioned, but I'll do so anyway: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=M&catString=69.274 and http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?M=ww008

What were they thinking??

I believe Old Bilbo would make the most sense as the pre-order figure for the game.

I picked up two more of the MEA sets (now at three total, with a goal of four), and when combined they look great.

I think that this set is really big let down. Only highlight are minifigs. It cannot be "healed" by putting four of these ogether..it will be ugly all the same. Only solution is to recreate this model..make walls higher, create more realistic tree and maybe add another one...

I totally agree, but combining multiple sets without any alterations still looks decent. I definitely plan to make some changes this Xmas when I'm home and have access to my whole LEGO collection.

Yeah, it looks "better", but its kinda repetitive..4 same walls with tree..(honestly - it doesent look like a tree :D)... I dont know what happend to that designer? Heartattack? :) Becaouse othere previous sets, like Bag End, Helms deep...these are full of detail, and awesome brick-built techniques, but this? What is it?

Jordon Scott, who designed Mirkwood Spiders and sections of Orthanc, also designed MEA. I think the reason that this set feels a little lackluster is due to the fact that it intends to represent Thranduil's fortress, be a decent battle pack, and be modular, all for $35. Those are some steep expectations from a small set designed by a rather new designer.

Also, there might be a chance that this set is only slightly based on aspects of scenes from the film. New Line may not have given LEGO too much info initially, so the designers had to go off memory, but also incorporate play features into a nature setting. On of the most detrimental aspects of the set is the Elf catapult on the top of the tree. It takes up so much space and is pretty dumb, but once removed, the tree gains more space for Minifigs to be set up, as well as the tree being able to be built upon and made taller.
