Not for some of us so it’s a year for us, on the bright side! But I believe BrickBob is also happy with Spider-Man CMF series.

I’m happy with every CMF series  Sure, the F1 one should’ve been a side series à la Unikitty, but I even liked that one  

While I personally prefer licensed series, I’m all in favour of balance ^^ Next year with one regular, one themed, and one (presumably) licensed series sounds like a great mix!

Agreed with you on the last sentence! Last year, we had regular (Series 25), themed, in-house one (Space Series 26), and licensed (D&D). This year Series 27, F1 and Spider-Man.

Repeating the cycle tomorrow.  I feel it’s good balance for everyone.  I am in favor or in-house CMF no matter if it’s regular or themed (except Fq).

I think it was just the fear that this was the one original series of the year, given how it's so tied to one, very well trodden, niche I could see why it's nice to know that they'll be a normal one after instead of the other 2 being like another Marvel one and a Minions buildable character series or whatever

In my observation, I actually saw a few D&D boxes left over a few weeks into the current year alongside the Series 27. It was none of the more valuable characters, but that a few still hung around was intriguing nonetheless.
F1 continues to clog up shelves. I’m fascinated that my stores haven’t clearanced them already, like they had with Series 26.
Since someone else mentioned it, Spider-Verse isn’t hard to find in my area, but that only began to occur a month after release. I do expect this series to last as long as the D&D series did, given the equal crossover between LEGO and their niche IPs, respectively. Aftermarket prices will be a different story.

 

Never have been a fan of the animal costume minifigs, and that opinion hasn’t changed upon seeing a whole series of them. If TLG had the actual animals alongside said costumes, then I would’ve been interested. (Although I believe all of these costumes have been included in previous CMFs, an inclusion would be nice nonetheless.)

Series 29 is a normal series? Well, finally. I’d love a return to zany realizations of archetypes, like the first couple CMFs accomplished. I also hope for no Castle remakes this time, just to give those fans a stress relief. Is either wish likely to happen? Definitely not.

No strong feelings on what the September ‘26 CMF should be. Another Marvel would be too soon, while I think another Disney would feel like too much. Another Looney Tunes or Muppets series, perhaps? I would love a Charlie Brown and Peanut characters series, although I’m not sure how non-Americans feel about Snoopy.

Could be a Batman one for the game.

6 being Bat-suit variants. The other 6 being the playable characters/ a variant of one (Jim Gordon, Nightwing, Batgirl, Talia, Robin and Alfred)

 

 

Though I’d prefer just a general DC CMF S2.

DC would be good. Would be nice to get some versions of the Teen Titans, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle etc.

I’d love to see a full on Marvel X-men series too, and I don’t think revisiting the Simpsons is beyond the realms of possibility either. 

Sesame Street might also be a nice one, complementing the Muppets and the retired Ideas set.

This non-american here loves Charlie Brown and Snoopy, in my country its very popular, and a characters serie would be most welcome. Personnaly I want more regular series (and a Pirates one ) enough of marvel, disney and weird series.

Simpsons is a safe bet for the May 2027 slot

The question is if the'd release S3 or "The Simpsons Movie 2" series.

I think a DC series has a good chance of happening. Even if we ignore the chance for Lego to subtlety plug their upcoming Batman game, there must be someone high up at the company kicking themselves after the Superman movie did so well this summer and all they had to offer with the character was one small set that will be retiring soon (and if you want anything with Krypto, Lois Lane, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Supergirl, or Mister Terrific? Fat chance). A Minifigure series would be the quickest way to reassure fans that they are, in fact, aware that heroes other than Batman exist in that universe, and would probably sell insanely well if they slipped in Krypto and some other super pets.

Still scratching my head over how Sesame Street, a show that is at its core a fun way to teach kids the basics before they start school, and Lego, a toy built around creativity and learning, did not use that Ideas set to kickstart a longer collaboration involving several 4+ sets. It just seems like such an obvious choice. But things have shaken up with the show recently and now Netflix is hosting it, so we might see something new considering how many other Netflix shows are currently being made into Lego.

Oh I forgot about the movie! I also wonder if they’d stick to just 12 slots, given the old issue of including the main family each time…

Indeed! Who knows what weird conversations and caveats and issues go on with licensing deals though. Heck have they even touched the Muppets / Seesame Street with Brickheadz?

By now we should have had AT LEAST a Sesame Street CMF and be onto a Fraggle Rock one …

Eh, I am not all in for DC CMF Series (same way for Marvel). So I think I will go with Simpsons and Sesame Street.

My local Walgreens finally started getting in the series 27 CMF's.  Couldn't be bothered to scan them to see if any of them were the desired ones since they want $6.99 for them.  I'll probably get a set of the series 28 Costumed ones since most of them are pretty decent but I doubt I'll buy extras of any.  Looking forward to seeing what they actually do for Series 29.  I'm not too intrigued with any of the guesses for the next licensed series that people have been speculating here.  The licensed ones need to be of interest to me or have a lot of usable parts for creating other minifigs for me.  Totally skipped the Spider verse ones and the F1 was a total was of a slot as far as I'm concerned.  Spent the CMF budget on BAM figures this year.

Surely the older we become, the quicker a year seems to pass as it is a smaller proportion of our lifespan? e.g. a year for a 10-year old is 1/10th of all the time they have experienced, whereas a year for an 80 year old is only 1/80th and therefore relatively less?

Surely it would, it's been the main obsession for kids globally for years. Even as someone who'd give that whole series a miss I doubt it'd do poorly

I feel like if they were going to do it, they’d have done it when the theme launched to take advantage of the mold budget to flesh out the new theme quickly like they did with the Harry Potter reboot.
