Actually surprised to see dragon there, as not sure how they would make a CMF out of it but I do hope Donkey is included with Shrek and we get one of the kids for the Dragon, though depending on how they are doing here I wouldn´t be surprised if the dragon comes on its own.

Probably you are right, but at least as nothing of that really would need a new mould (but the head doesn´t seem to unlikely), the chances shouldn´t be to bad to get one of the dronkeys.

Just found this. Not a bad list but it’s really weird to see Dragon? Dragon is a big creature that I think there should be a Shrek set.   I’m not sure about Ginny tho.

Given that we’re all low-key expecting Shrek 5 sets closer to when the movie actually comes out, I wonder if the ogre characters will each have their own molded heads or if there will be a sort of universal ogre head with the ear stalks that can be paired with different wigs like we saw with the Na’vi in the Avatar sets.

The rumored Yu-gi-oh Lego Ideas contest has been announced, and I figure it’s worth bringing up in the future CMFs thread because we’re seeing the same format used for D&D, which ultimately had a CMF released alongside its big Ideas set. 
 

My knowledge of the franchise is limited, but I do know there are plenty of hair wigs and accessories needed that would make a CMF for the theme completely justified.

I’m very very familiar Yu-Gi-Oh and Yu-Gi-Oh GX series but not beyodn these series. I feel like Yu-Gi-Oh! Series woudl be mixture of duelists and humanoid monsters (Dark Magician, Celtic Elf, Elemental Hero Avaian, etc). 

My big quesiton - how can they do with duelist’s deck waistband accesory? That part I’m curious to see.

Either side leg printing or a hip piece like the Batman utility belt, depending on how important Lego and the license holder think that accessory is. 
 

More interesting is how they’d go about those duel disk things – some new way to do wrist mounted accessories or just take some artistic liberties and have it be handheld like the Green Lantern rings of recent iteration?

I’ve got no skin in the game, as it were, so it’s really just rank curiosity for me. I’ll be interested to see if the finalists for the Ideas contest are minifig compatible like the D&D one or not – that should give at least some indication on whether Lego is planning a concurrent minifig series or not.

The number of people I‘ve seen online who seemingly have no clue how a contest works is depressing They just read the headline „LEGO Yu-Gi-Oh“ and comment nonsense like „hurr durr, $600 Blue Eyes White Dragon, no minifigs“.

I know A LOT of people only read headlines and draw all their conclusions from that alone, but come on, this is ridiculous!

Ugh, yes, I was reading through the comments on a social media post about the announcement and there were so many people speculating and saying what they’d like it to be. Like… you could actually do something about that, you know. You could design something for the contest or at least make an account to vote for the finalists. 
 

One previous contest and CMF isn’t a pattern, obviously, but it has established that there’s a possibility of more when a license specific contest like this shows up – whether that’s a CMF like D&D, Brickheadz, or something else. And this license in particular would certainly benefit from a CMF budget for minifig parts.

Sorry i got myself confused with ain’t and wrist. I meant to say wristband, not waists and for duel disk.  You are at where i am trying to make a point. But I have no idea what you mean by the Green Lantenr tho.

I also think D&D lends itself much more to a CMF than YuGiOh does. They have a way bigger variety on what D&D can offer compared to YuGiOh, even if we consider that aside from the main characters they would also include some Humanoid Monsters and more importantly, D&D is more suitable for people that don´t care about the franchise IMO.

It’s been awhile since Lego has made a Green Lantern, but if you look up the DC CMF you can see what I’m talking about. Lantern characters in DC comics get their superpowers from rings. Obviously, Lego minifigures can’t wear rings, but there are some instances of Lego representing it by having the Minifigure hold a clear 79194 shaft with knob with a 1x1 circular tile with the ring’s symbol printed on attached to it. So, essentially an accessory worn on a finger turned into a handheld accessory. Theoretically, a wrist mounted accessory could work with a similar treatment.

I was little  confsued. Of course, I know who is Green Latner from DC. You were talking a bout duel disk then you talked about Green Latnern. I was not sure what you were trying to say about Green Latenr when we talked about YuGiOh duel disk. But I think I get what you mean now.

Yup, you are not in a target audience for sure. I also don’t think Yu-Gi-Oh has any “realististic” animals so…. Green Latern for you, I suppose.

This is Outstanding Dog Marron erasure.

But yeah, the most iconic Yu-Gi-Oh cards tend to be things like wizards and dragons and such, so I wouldn't expect regular animals from a hypothetical minifigure series (and to be honest, I wouldn't really expect Yu-Gi-Oh to get a full minifigure series anyway, for similar reasons of many iconic cards not really working as minifigures at all).
