The front tires and rear tires of the Charger are 58x28 according to this Tumbler image.

So it's kind of a bloated version of the Bronco tires, which are 56x22. But I guess the rims size is the same.

Also, the rim has 6 pinholes, and seems to be fairly deep from one side.

This is the only new set that actually interests me. The new front wheel/tire combo, the black wheel hubs (that I think are also new?), and the RC Hub are all parts I'd be interested in. As always, I wait for @kbalage RacingBrick's build and review to find out more about the set. Depending on price and availability this might be a buy for me.

New rims and tires at the front look nice! I'm liking the use of 1:5 motorcycle hubs at the front--seems like an effective way to incorporate the unusual front steering in a sturdy way!

I think designers were really trying hard to reduce amount of blue/red pins. Black pins are dominating the exterior which is a nice touch

Well, if they try so hard. Why there are still soo many red axles sticking out when they produce black ones. And this model is 12+ so we should expect more complexity than red axles to simplify the build process:).

Here is more pictures:).

On the second pic the multi-Hub is clearly visible with the fiber optics for light. And you can spot the USB port on the side below the blue axle pin.

Red axles is mild reminder of Technic DNA

This time designers decided to put that HUB front to back. Single motor used in 42214 for steering drives the rear wheels and both front wheels are steered by single motors usually used for propulsion.

Mhh... I don't think so. You can clearly see 4 light sources on the front. The hub only holds 2 on the back. Also the USB-label is visable above the USB-port. So it is put in "normally".

Yep. Jundis is right. I can confirm USB charging port is on the left side.

Ah, new pictures. It seems that Jundis is right.

What a multi-coloured mess... still a lot of colour vomit

To me it looks pretty black :D

no clear shapes...

Well, it's a tumbler, it is not exactly a smoothly curved thing IRL either. I think the shape is actually quite ok, given the scale and the fact that it is technic and RC.

I believe the sides open upwards at an angle, and it seems like an interesting implementation. Probably needed to access the battery.

Looking at that second picture near the rear tires, it seems that there are some rollers in black mounted on axles (one in front and one above). That's a good solution to minimize the floppiness of the super-wide rear tires.

We won't complain about red axles and brown axles and blue pins (though we could and should...).

But the reasons for choosing red flip-flop beam(s) (at the bottom) and red 3L axle pins (at the A-/B-pillar) - despite they exist in dbg - will stay TLG's well-kept secret...

:pir-laugh:

Well, as gray in all shades is considered a color without color, TLG is just giving the thing some ... brightness in all its darkness.

I was wondering what those could be, and this could make sense, if the wide wheels are really that floppy.

How else would it be able to make a turn with those huge double wheels at the back?

The hub has independent motors for the rear two wheels, I believe, so you would expect them to just use a software-based differential. That's actually really weird that they would include a differential! Are they hard-coupling those two motors together and then putting them through a differential? That doesn't seem like something they would do. I'm now really curious how this drivetrain is constructed

Maybe @M_longer was right. The hub is put backwards. The steer port is used to drive the differentials, while the two drive ports steer the front wheels.

That's strange indeed... but then there is a new version of the hub with another USB-port on the other side and more ports for the lights.

*Edit: There are some 16T and 12T gears in the set according to the setlist, so a transmission from each L/R motor to each wheel is still possible.

I don't think that would make too much sense, as it would have half the torque for drive.
