Instead we got forza horizon collaboration Forza Horizon is probably the most well-known (and one of the most highly-acclaimed) driving* games around, with the sixth game in the series releasing in a couple of weeks. It's been called a 'celebration of cars,' which fits modern Technic like a glove, for better and for worse. *Forza Horizon is much more realistic than Asphalt Legends, but it isn't anywhere near a sim racer. Jurss Posted May 1 Posted May 1 New wheel arches? And what are the parts at sides of the front hood? Some system elements? Quote
Auroralampinen Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Ok, this model too have the dark blue axles on the front wheels just like in the 42236 mustang and the dodge. Interesting that now we have dark blue axle in the colorpalette Quote

I think they might be 3.5 with stop at the end. Look at the front corner of the roof and it looks like the same dark blue colour to me. Quote

The parts at the sides of the front hood remind me the new triangular panels introduced with the Volvo EC500, but look also different. Quote
HTM Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Saturation point with all these small scale cars. I’ve stopped buying them but they must be selling well Quote

Not sure what parts you are refering to. But if the ones right inside of the curved panels used as wheel arches, they look to me to be 2l half beams and 1l beams stacked together or similar already exising parts. Quote
Satisfied Posted May 1 Posted May 1 This design of the front wheel arch panel has been seen many times on previous small car models. Quote

The part to the right of the left front fender looks like the hypothenuse of this part, that's what he meant. Quote
Jurss Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I zoomed in, and they look like some 2L beams or halfbeams connected with Technic Pin Connector Round Quote
R0Sch Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) You gotta love the attention to detail with the stickered headlights, exhaust, grille and Ferrari logos... at least no visible blue pins this time. Notice the half bush is barely holding on to the front axle? And it's the same with the Viper. And at what point will TLG finally see it fit to release new rims for these Car Transporter scaled cars? Can they really be this lazy to re-use the same old 30mm truck rims over-and-over again forever? Edited May 1 by R0Sch Quote

Not until they release all the possible new panel molds so collectors cant build new models from their part bins. It's a vital business strategy. Quote
Timorzelorzworz Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Clean design, and then a single yellow axle is sticking out 🫣 Quote

I'm trying to remember, but I think my current MOC is using a 3L with stop in a place where a 3.5 would be perfect. Might have to get out the hacksaw soon and make some! Gotta love it when the parts palette expands, and I don't even have to buy the newly legal parts! As for the set, it's another car of course, but I do think it's well-executed. 3 hours ago, R0Sch said: You gotta love the attention to detail with the stickered headlights, exhaust, grille and Ferrari logos... at least no visible blue pins this time. Can they really be this lazy to re-use the same old 30mm truck rims over-and-over again forever? I don't think we can really fault the stickered headlights here. I guess they could be printed (reducing parts reusability), but if you look at how little space they have above the front tire, I'm not sure any brick-built solution would have worked here. 100% agreed about the rims, though! They're definitely making enough of these sets to pay off a new mold, and it would really improve the looks! Is the issue maybe that once they make a detailed rim, people will complain that it's the wrong rim for a given car? Right now it's equally bad for everything, but maybe making it better would make it too specific, and they can't make molds for every car? There's got to be some workable middle ground Quote
gyenesvi Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I agree that this car is actually well executed, smooth all over the place. Quote

There's got to be some workable middle ground It's really not rocket science. Make a 5 spoke rim and a 10 spoke in 2 different width and the cars will look 10x better. Make exchangeable wheel caps like on Speed Champions, if it's really too much hassle, but do something different! Quote
R0Sch Posted May 1 Posted May 1 So there is a visible blue pin after all. That little bugger was just hiding behind the small panel on the box cover. And I'm pretty sure that gaping hole around the front wheel will not be black and hidden by a shadow either irl, but you'll see all the nice rainbow colors popping out. One more specialized curved panel wouldn't have made a big impact on the cost. Quote
Cardboy Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) On the Lego website with new images you can see the new axle will be 3.5 with stop in dark blue pat on the back for all those who worked it out before So we will be getting at least 6 in this set Edited May 1 by Cardboy Quote
Stereo Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) The set has 2L beams (side mirrors) so I don't see why the hood would be stacking 2L thin beams. Maybe they're using this piece https://rebrickable.com/parts/72008/technic-connector-2-x-2-with-1-x-1-cut-out-with-axle-holes/ to make it easier to build? As the internal stop of an axle connector means you just stick the axles all the way in, instead of trying to line up a whole stack of parts. Edited May 1 by Stereo Quote
Cardboy Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Also why is the front badge a sticker when the https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/ferrari-daytona-sp3-42143 has a printed part I think less people would complain about a printed part being a bit large over a sticker Quote
