The hat shop is cute. The cinema is a bit tiny at the front. Agree, the Opera House would be great.

Yes, the cinema is a small facade sandwiched between shops. But it is probably the most interesting thing in that stretch of the block. The thing about Main Street is that it's almost all shops and little cafes without much in the way of attractions or activities, so it's tough to portray it scaled down like this without repeating a lot of concepts.

Perhaps the City Hall might be interesting, at least from an exterior view!

So Ashnflash just posted a review of the set that reveals something surprising none of the marketing revealed (AFAIK): all three "chunks" of the set are modular and can be swapped around and attached to one another.

I think all three chunks look far better by themselves regardless of accuracy. While I still think the price is silly, and that the firehouse doesn't look great, I can see the vision now.

Actually, come to think of it, the Magic Shop and the Music Shop are both in the block with the cinema, so there's some potential for interesting interiors there even if the footprints are narrow.

Has anyone already pointed out easter eggs for potential/ future sets?

I think I've seen mention of them elseweb. The castle, train and Haunted Mansion are probably references to the existing sets (though a full-sized Mansion would be lovely), but they might be teasing Big Thunder Mountain and "it's a small world"!

A set based on Small World would be fantastic!

I am sure they are going to charge an arm and a leg for it though!!!

After swift BrickBob Studpants. Plus, that sound bricks better have “authentic” sounds….

Only if it comes with a sound brick :laugh_hard:

You scoff, but I'm imagining a set that uses Technic functions to recreate the doll parade around the clock tower, while the sound brick plays the tune.

Perhaps this would indeed be a 'smart' use of the sound brick ~ moving parts with appropriate sound.

Not the pathetic excuse to jack up prices.

According to the latest retirement update on Reddit, the older buildable 43249 Stitch has had its retirement date pushed back by 6 months from December 2026 to July 2027 which seems crazy considering the new Stitch has just been released but clearly Disney loves its buildables! Take as a guideline only as usual of course.

I saw the Main Street USA set in a store the other day and it was backed up against three modulars. It looks so small. Even small compared to the Natural History Museum (which was one the modulars). If it was $300, the same as the NHM modular, then maybe it would be OK, but it really did feel very small. Maybe it scales well with the Castle I suppose.

It's not "small," it's forced perspective.

Joking aside, I started building mine yesterday and...I really like it! There are a lot of sweet little details designed to please Disneyland fans, such as the minifigure trophy piece in the popcorn cart, representing the tiny doll figure that turns the crank. What occurs to me is that this is the first set really portraying a piece of the theme parks as a minifigure playset--the previous large sets, the castle(s) and train station, hedged their bets by reducing the names to "Disney" instead of "Disneyland" or "Disney World" and only having animated character minifigures. Speaking as a theme park fan, Disney has a bad habit these days of treating its theme parks only as extensions of its movie library, but this set acknowledges the uniqueness of Disneyland as an entertainment destination, as a place you can enjoy independently of its connection to this or that movie or cartoon.

I think a better forced perspective is adding that mini Disney castle and mini Haunted House somewhere in the display.

Great point! I wonder if it may become the flagship set in stores? ...And how much park-goers will buy this as a memento of their holiday at the park?

Do we think it will be a while until they release another large Castle?

Okay so I feel kind of vindicated because a few years ago I made a few comments about how the Mickey and Minnie figures seem to be based on the costumes that actual humans wear of the characters as opposed to the characters themselves. This felt obvious when commenting on the now retired Train and Station, but now feels completely confirmed by the release of Main Street. The set is about just fine, with the exclusive shirts for the fans being cute and the Mickey Ears feeling like a long time coming, for the fans of Theme Park sets, this could be cute. But I personally can't help but see this set and think of what it makes me long for in this theme. Now that its confirmed we have figures based off costumed Mickey/Minnie, can we now finally get figures based off of their cartoons/"actual" selves? With mid sized legs and a smaller head sculpt? That'd be nice.

Main Street has grown on me a bit but three things really drive me crazy. First, the cost, which is a problem in lots of lines, but historically I have felt much more value on bigger Disney sets, such as the Castle and Train Station. Secondly, if you are going to charge that much, I think we needed both sides of the emporium so you have a little bit more in the beginning. (not that I expect every little detail) Lastly, due to the price I don't want to spend even more to add these details, so the only way I see myself getting this is somehow with a massive discount down the road.  Also, since I didn't get it I would have been upset, but could have bricklinked later, there should have been a promo of one of there transportation vehicles when it came out!

I really wish this was $299.00! It would be palatable.

Haven't seen it pop up on any other sites, but 2027 rumor is a buildable Eeyore and buildable Judy and Nick from Zootopia.

If true, seems Lego Disney is really committing to the buildable figure design style for non Princess sets.

I wonder... did the minifig collectors convert to buildable collectors? Or there are just so few people wanting more minifigs???

I guess the minifig sets really don't sell well enough to justify making more of them. All these buildable figures are being made for a reason and I guess for Disney fans, rather than Lego fans in general, the buildable figures are easier to display and show off in their collections rather than minifigs. Most of which are scattered in retired sets and CMF waves anyway.

Okay kind of a crazy thing to complain about but you know how Patrick in Spongebob is getting a unique mold with his belly included in the sculpt? I hope they revamp Winnie the Pooh someday in this style. I can't think of any character who needed a belly piece more than him. He looks so awkward with his fat bulbous head and his skinny normal minifigure body. He needs a belly to help break up some of that empty space. Sometimes I wish they just made a "belly" piece that could recieve printing so that characters across the board who's silhouette is not done justice by traditional torso piece could be done justice.

About time TLG finally give Zootopia some love! Would’ve preferred minifigs of course, but it’s better than nothing. Eeyore sounds like a great companion to this year’s two Pooh sets!

Chicken and egg.

They ought to make the minifig sets good enough for fans to buy. So many missed opportunities with the choices Lego has made for the castles and D2Cs.

I'm so tired of buildable characters. I'll need to get a new hobby if minifigures are over.

Ditto.
