Timorzelorzworz Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 This topic was created to discuss the new a-pillar piece (part ID not known yet) and to share building ideas. As far as we know, the LEGO Technic set 42223 1966 Ford GT introduces a brand-new useful piece in 2026. The committed user @R0Sch was so kind to make a digital version of this new part in PartDesigner. This piece allows unforeseen possibilities in the Technic ecosystem and is made as a 6L liftarm with 1L staggered pinholes. As for a 6L liftarm it can be used in common 4-5-6 stable triangle connections, but now with a slightly angled hypotenuse that allows us to build slightly angled stable triangles in Technic. This finally clears the way to build stable crane masts and foremasts for tower cranes - as an example. I'm pretty sure this magnificent part comes on more colors in future sets as well. Feel free to use this topic to discuss it and to share future building ideas with this new part. Quote

howitzer Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 As uninteresting as the sets themselves are, it appears that they are constantly providing new cool parts such as this one. Quote
Stereo Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 A long string of them with frictionless pins would also make an interesting "rope" linkage. Not prone to twisting in the way alternating layers is. 32294 Wishbones they also make a good shorter version. Though not as aesthetic. Quote

This is the current issue with LEGO for me. I'm here for the parts, but not the sets. Now if Pick-a-brick could better support my current reality, that would be appreciated. This part looks fantastic. Quote
Aurorasaurus Posted November 23, 2025 Posted November 23, 2025 I am far more excited for next years sets because of this, the potential is huge for cranes as others mentioned. Very, very nice part. Quote

I'm afraid, that under some load (in not used only for display, but also for play), this construction bottom will "open" up. Especially using those pins with crossaxles, grey and blue ones. If there would be really all pins, then it would be better. Otherway, I'm sceptic. Quote
aeh5040 Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 This looks like a really interesting piece. Indeed, the 6 length must be chosen with 3-4-5 right triangles in mind... Quote
