Timorzelorzworz Posted November 5 Posted November 5 (edited) The r/ topic is one year old, the set from Lepin. Luckily enough it is ugly and not the 42224. Lego would never print tires for a small car not in 18+ league. Edited November 5 by Timorzelorzworz Quote

Lego would never print tires for a small car not in 18+ league. It's a Sembo model, not Lepin and how do you know the LEGO model won't be uglier? Of course TLG won't print the tires or make custom rims at this scale (even though at 150$ it would be natural), that's why I showed what not to expect. Maybe you didn't notice there are no off-colored pins and axles on the Sembo kit either. Edited November 5 by R0Sch Quote

Stereo Posted November 5 Posted November 5 (edited) 27 minutes ago, Ngoc Nguyen said: What exactly are synchronized air jacks? On the actual car they're pistons mounted to the underside of the car that lift all 4 wheels off the ground when air is applied, then retract when air pressure is removed, it's to make pit stops quicker. For Lego it's probably linkages. "Accurate firing order" is doubtful to me, 6 cylinder boxers use 120 degree angle crank offsets and every single piston is on its own offset section of the crank, since each pair of opposed cylinders hits TDC at the same time. Would need new parts designs. Edited November 5 by Stereo Quote

Auroralampinen Posted November 7 Author Posted November 7 42228 is rumoured to be APXGB car from the F1 movie:). So now you have the cool speed champions version with 2 minifigures and the bigger expensive hollow technic model without figures:(. Oh man i wished the 42228 was something different. Why we need speed champions and technic version at the same time. Because technic doesn't have figures. And its much difficult to construct compared to speed champions. And cherry on top its much expensive:(. It would be cool to see 42228 be something different. Like road sweeper, service truck, or a combine harvester:). Quote
Timorzelorzworz Posted November 7 Posted November 7 The F1 cars since 2022 in Technic theme are the most boring sets ever. I personally can't understand why people spend 230$ for those display pieces for nothing. But they seem to sell themselves, so the series continues every year. Quote

I have not bought any of the technic F1 sets. The 42000 was the only technic F1 set which i bought:). Quote
Timorzelorzworz Posted November 7 Posted November 7 I got only the 42141 McLaren in 2022 and rebuilded it into a FunKart which was totally useless. After that I lost interest in the f1 models. Quote
Jockos Posted November 7 Posted November 7 (edited) I thought they would do the real F1 cars first, but neither would interest me. At least we may have the possibility to get golden parts from it. Edited November 7 by Jockos Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Well at least for a 199x person like me, I missed the original Ferrari F1s in the early 2000s and have always wanted a modern version, so at least the 42207 satisfies that need. Quote
Gzynek2323 Posted November 7 Posted November 7 I think the purpose of these F1 models, especially as F1 is more and more popular globally, and in US is to expand the audience and customer base for Lego. Most of us are already committed customers just being on this forum. I personally am a big fan of F1 and like current direction. Quote

Where are the unique construction machinery or something else that isin't a car. It's sad that the biggest set so far is the hollow f1 set. Like in 2018 we got the good mack anthem in january with over 2000pcs. Its really depressing that we don't see this anymore. Now the biggest stuff are the cars. Which do sell. But still we should get the mack anthem kind of treatment aswell if you aren't a fan of F1 or the billion same functions cars sets:/. Edited November 7 by Auroralampinen Edit mack anthem wasn't released in 2019 it was released 2018 my bad:). Quote
Jundis Posted November 7 Posted November 7 (edited) So we are currently at the level that 10 out of 11 sets are cars... the only real technic set is the 10€ John Deere Harvester... The summer wave better be good. Edited November 7 by Jundis Quote

R0Sch Posted November 10 Posted November 10 You should do statistics based on full years, not half-years. In 2025 8/21 were non-cars and that is without the magazine paper bags. Quote
