Rjbricks Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Not a bragging contest, just curious really. And hopefully people have spent loads and will make me feel better! I really want to get the Overwatch Reinhardt helmet but it’s £10 at least. And a gold chromed dragon helmet but those are £13 at least. Most I’ve spent on a single brick is £8 for the Quadruple convex black slope for the Black Falcons’ fortress. Quote
Murdoch17 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) Here's my answer to your query, @Rjbricks: $3+ a pop for a nine of these, from at least three stores. I needed eight of them for a large railroad water tower about seven years ago. (the ninth one was to replace a broken one I received) I swore after that, I'd never buy something so rare again! MAB Posted June 21 Posted June 21 It wasn't me, but someone paid £60 for one of these in 2023. I know, as I sold it to them. And based on today's prices, they got a bargain. But paid a lot more than the £2 I sold some others for in 2016 and 2017. They were originally 53p on bricksnpieces / PAB. Reinhardt's helmet was originally quute cheap. I bought 4 four £1.50 each. The price went a little crazy as it was a good stand-in for Sauron and you're looking at £15 now. I painted one to match armour. Quote
icm Posted June 21 Posted June 21 A few years ago I built a Psiaki X-wing. The white parts that form the sides of the nose were rare to begin with, having come in only one or two Exo-Force sets, and almost all of the supply had already been used by other people for their Psiaki X-wings. I had to pay over $6 each for two of them. This summer I finished restoring an old Black Seas Barracuda and an old Cross Bone Clipper that I got the hulls for about six years ago. The old dark gray firing cannons for the two ships were about $5 each, the 40L string with studs for the Cross Bone Clipper was $7, and the replica sail for the Cross Bone Clipper (not an original sail) was $20 including shipping. One yellow part for the stern of the Black Seas Barracuda was $4 plus about $7 in shipping, so I added a $5 polybag to the order to keep myself from feeling like I was paying $11 for a single part. MAB Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Something similar happened with the black dinosaur neck/tail when it appeared in the Arvo brothers' Alien. It jumped from about 10p to £5-6 each. Many more have since found their way to the marketplace so the price has dropped again but there are still BL sellers that listed in that time with high prices. Quote
SpacePolice89 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) Probably the orange helmet I wanted for the orange BAM Futuron style torso to make a Futuron astronaut, I paid about ten euros for it. For replacement sails I have paid more than that but that was for a whole set of sails (for my Black Seas Barracuda). Edited June 21 by SpacePolice89 Quote

Jack Sassy Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Some years ago I bought three 1x2 black arched window frames, back when they last appeared in the 90s and costed 5 euros a piece. Glad that they have returned. Quote
BrickJagger Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Not something I bought, but I recently found out that the Dragon Knight horse barding I own from Escape from Dragon's Prison is apparently worth $72 used and that's absolutely ridiculous https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=2490pb10&idColor=80#T=P&C=80 Quote

Just as shocking are some of the prices where the clips of old bardings are broken. Quote
GeoBrick Posted June 26 Posted June 26 The most expensive? Earlier this year, this barding here for a bit over 15 €. Quote
Wardancer Posted June 28 Posted June 28 (edited) Is this about bricks only? Just bought the body of an old Hungarian Horntail for 9 Euro. I was surprised how cheap it was. Old Hippogriffs I bought for 12 Euro. Four dark green horse bardings I got by buying the set four times (used), kept the bardings and resolut the sets. So it was about 15 Euro per barding. Also with shipping and customs taxes I paid about 11 Euro per piece for custom Woodland armors from Ktownbricks. Such is the life of a customizer. Edited June 28 by Wardancer Quote
DonQuixote Posted July 11 Posted July 11 (edited) €15 on a Starwars figure. Was not interested in the figure itself but his armor. Don't know what figure it is because I am not familar with modern Starwars. The armor and helmet are usable for castle Edited Saturday at 02:19 PM by DonQuixote Quote

Rjbricks Posted July 11 Author Posted July 11 Agreed, it’s awesome. Couldn’t justify paying so mich for one figure so I bought the whole set on sale and sold off the rest of the figures and ship. Torso actually works pretty well too. I’ve switched the arms round and have a cloak hiding the buttons on the back. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted July 11 Posted July 11 This gold crown and white hood piece: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=222556&idColor=1&ccName=6420281#T=C&C=1 After choosing it and later deleting it to trim costs 3 separate times in PAB orders, I finally surrendered to the $7.64 price and brought it home for the king of my Muharib (aka CMF Arabian Knight) faction. He looks great, but almost 8 bucks for a single Lego headgear piece is unprecented for me :( Quote

The helmet and the armor look good for a castle theme. Is it a Knight of Ren? Don't know much about Disney Starwars. For me, they don't exist. I have the 2 trilogies of George Lucas on Bluray. With the redemption of Anakin Skywalker and the death of Palpatine, the story ends well for me. 17 hours ago, Mr. Elijah Timms said: This gold crown and white hood piece: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=222556&idColor=1&ccName=6420281#T=C&C=1 After choosing it and later deleting it to trim costs 3 separate times in PAB orders, I finally surrendered to the $7.64 price and brought it home for the king of my Muharib (aka CMF Arabian Knight) faction.
