So a lot of 7+ and only 1 4+, we are due another hospital as Lego makes them every 4 years, so it’ll be interesting to see what this one will look like. I’d like to see a Cement Mixer in a non 4+ style as it’ll be very interesting how it’ll look like nowadays, maybe another recycling vehicle, like a garbage truck but with the bins going at the side. A Police Station I reckon will be in this wave, along with a Police Mobile Command Truck in the similar size to 60408, 60440 and 60445. A bank robbery set. Maybe a new sub theme even?

Wow, that's quite a list. I wonder what the lone 8+ set will be? And I guess with all the 5+ and 4+ sets, stickers will not be included. (yay!)

I see sets 60481 to 60488 are rated 5+, that means they'll have the "use yo' hands" type of instructions.

Okay....

At least, as @Murdoch17 already mentioned, they won't have stickers but that doesn't automatically mean they'll be loaded with prints.

We'll see.

Not sure whether a set like that would be expected but if so it'd probably be pretty easy—when I used to do soapbox races the cars would be carried back to the top of the hill on a large flatbed trailer (facing to the side so that large numbers of cars could be transported on each trip).

Probably not, soapbox sets are set to be removed by December 31st of this year. With what is set to be retired in the same date it seems we might get the following:

-Harbour(maybe not a mix of things this time) 

-Cargo Train(Maybe for January, as this time it's retirement date is a bit earlier than usual) 

-Big D2c for June(City Tower but better?) 

-Big Fire Engine

-Fire Boat

-More Jungle Sets

-More Buildings( most are getting retired except for the Police, Fire and Train Stations)

You would’ve thought there would’ve been a wave two of soapbox sets. I mean we haven’t even got a police themed or space themed soapbox 

Do you think any of these could be released for next year

Probably not until 2HY, but I expect that we will get a dump truck for the construction line (and maybe a loader or backhoe); we also need a new police station (since they changed the style/colour-scheme of the police line). 
More Great Vehicles (public transit, cargo transportation, cars, recreation, etc) are a lock, and a standalone fire truck is likely. I can also see a standalone police car with a more traditional design, and a garage to go with this year’s tow truck. 

I definitely want to see more Space (obviously!), as well as more exploration sets (ideally a new environment (maybe savannah, with tan as the accent colour?), and a couple more jungle sets in 2HY). 
I also think that we are getting a new underwater/divers subtheme, considering the sub with new trident logo that is included in the weird modular vehicle set.

I'm a big Devastator fan (Transformers). I would one day like to see all of the six vehicles eventually made into a Lego set. LOL

This is more of a theory considering the currently available versions of the sets mentioned are going to be discontinued. I personally hope we actually get more buildings, a new hospital and harbour would be neat. I hope they don’t drag the space theme too much.

I have noticed that we get non 4+ versions of sets a year after the release of the 4+ versions. We have also seen set leak names released too recently with other themes. When will city’s likely to be?

With last year's 4+  that received standard sets this year being the Tow Truck and the Ambulance, I'm wondering if we'll get a Tractor as it's been 5 years since the last standard one next year (2021), and then maybe the 4 Wheeler getting an upgrade?

Considering that 2024 brought us our first standalone bus for the Great Vehicles lineup, I actually see hope for the bendy bus. According to sources, the two story bus sold amazingly well. City does need some more small sets with dogs and cats , Friends has a lot of them, especially 3 cat sets in 3 years with multiple sizes/prints, minifig dogs have mostly been with fire/police, and the recent cats just have been kittens that released a few years ago.

I mean, there have been City sets like the otters, chicken coop, or squirrel park with animals before, a City variant of a dog park or cat café would still be nice to see, even if Friends dogs and Cats can be used with minifigs, it would be nice to see some more minifig style dog/cats in smaller sets too.

There has been a definite ‘shrinkflation’ in City sets and elsewhere regarding animals in non animal-themes. Where we previously had generous helpings of dogs, cats and owls, these days we are more likely to just get a puppy, a kitten, or a small bird. It may well just be the other side of the pendulum swing, to counter animal-focused subthemes like Farm & Wildlife Rescue
