brickbride Posted June 2 Posted June 2 (edited) I love this fandom to pieces, and even have (non-LEGO) merch of it. Which is why it pains me to realize that I probably won't buy any of these sets. The Merry and Baratie are way out of my budget range. I was hoping that with Arlong Park I'd at least get the entire East Blue Crew, but now with both Zoro and Sanji missing it looks like the cheapest way to get them all is the EUR 130 Merry! Even for a set with just my favourite (Zoro) it's EUR 50! And if I cannot have all the East Blue Crew I'd at least like to have him battle Mihawk but of course he's locked behind the EUR 300 Baratie. As of now, I'm still looking forward to seeing the sets but I'll probably just end up bricklinking some figs or something. Edited June 2 by brickbride Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 2 Posted June 2 The 8 wanted posters are allegedly Luffy, Gold Roger, Buggy, Arlong, Don Krieg, Kuro, Mihawk, and Alvida! I think that‘s actually everyone who got one of those awesome wanted poster intros in S1 I thought they‘d do all Straw Hats plus 3 of the villains, but they actually 100% follow what was shown in S1! Impressive! Quote

doclord Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I wonder how they will do Buggy's power? They don't usually break apart figures in marketing. Quote

Probably just show taking it apart at the official joins, so legs torso and head. They could also include his head alone as an extra in the appropriate scenes. Quote

I'd imagine it'd be the power pieces and just have them launch to replicate 'chop chop cannon' 7 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: The 8 wanted posters are allegedly Luffy, Gold Roger, Buggy, Arlong, Don Krieg, Kuro, Mihawk, and Alvida! I think that‘s actually everyone who got one of those awesome wanted poster intros in S1 I'm glad we are getting all the posters, always the chance they can revisit certain characters in the next wave of sets. I'd expect us to get Alvida in the 2026 wave for instance. Gold Roger is the character that started the show so I'm sure they can circle round to him eventually. The only ones I'm unsure of if we'll ever get figures for are Don Krieg and Kuro. Kuro is still around, but he's kinda generic and I've seen BricksOfMaze do a nice purist version of him and Axe-Hand Morgan. Don Krieg I think is extremely unlikely given his minimal screentime, which is understandable but unfortunate as he's the most difficult to replicate. 12 hours ago, brickbride said: Which is why it pains me to realize that I probably won't buy any of these sets. Second wave of sets in 2026 and Bricklink are probably your best bet at getting cheap versions of the characters. Other than that would mostly suggest waiting for sales or buying second-hand. 12 hours ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: We'll probably get more next year when they make Season 2 sets. I'm really curious how they'll tackle a lot of the 2026 sets, presumably some of them will be leaning on Season 2 - so done a bit of speculation on that below: Spoiler Following the amount of figures with this wave, lets use a similar layout for 2026: Loguetown - $30 - Luffy, Alvida, Smoker Whisky Peak - $50 - Luffy, Zoro, Mr.5, Miss Valentine Reverse Mountain - $80 - Luffy, Sanjii, Crocus, Miss Wednesday, (Brick-built Laboon) Little Garden - $130 - Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Usopp, Mr.3, Brick-Built Dorry, Brick-built Brogy Drum Island - $300 - Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Usopp, Sanjii, Wapol, Dr Kureha, Chopper, Miss All Sunday, Dalton Have to miss out a few characters I'd like, but I could see them doing something like this. BrickBob Studpants Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I‘m extremely impressed by the love and care they put into the theme, just like the crew working on the show did! And we haven‘t even seen the sets themselves yet! After all, stuff like the wanted posters is usually reserved for long-running evergreen themes ^^ Quote
brickbride Posted June 3 Posted June 3 The Brickheadz for August are said to be Luffy and Buggy. Quote
doclord Posted June 3 Posted June 3 The Merry looks good, but I am not seeing the $100+. Funny how you can just swap the eyes on the figurehead and you get an Anime/Manga version. Quote

THELEGOBATMAN Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Looks awesome. I love how sturdy it feels, and the flags are amazing. Not sure if it's worth 130€ though—doesn't really feel like it is. It feels like the full pictures are imminent, and I just can't wait. Really want to see it in its full glory, as well as all the other sets. Quote
Yperio_Bricks Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I don't know the anime and as a Pirates fan I didn't expect much but I am positively surprised by the ship! Hope we get better pictures soon Quote

It's a nice little ship, the figurehead looks good, and I’m glad we get Zoro with a proper green hairpiece somewhere, but I could never justify buying it for that price. Also Sanji's hair looks awfully yellow, like Draco Malfoy's in the newer HP sets. I really preferred it back when they used to use tan hairpieces for blonds. Edited June 3 by brickbride Quote

Hopefully the other sets get leaked soon so we can see how they'll end up looking. Its still so weird seeing a One Piece LEGO set, its a dream come true seeing the Merry in LEGO even if it is LA. I really like the set, definitely will be getting it, just having the entire East Blue crew in it makes it worthwhile. Edited June 3 by Mister_Loki Quote

Well it's just a normal blond in the LA version which this is supposedly based on. A lot of characters have unnatural hair colour there but he doesn't. Quote

I have the sneaking suspicion that aside from a few parts and ship/fig design changes (Nami hair) they are trying to make things look fairly close to the manga. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 4 Posted June 4 An additional picture of Arlong has leaked! He sports a tattoo on his left arm and the fin on his back is moulded into the hair-hat piece, which makes it more accurate but less versatile Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Pictures of all five sets have leaked! They look awesome!! Somehow they included everything I was suggesting a while back, including a den den mushi usuing the new snail piece! Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Wow, these look fantastic. I already love this theme so much. Partys Bar is definitely one of the highlights, the build looks so good. At that price it's definitely a must-buy. Buggy's Circus is a great mid-range set with all the characters. The circus itself is cool, but I feel like it could use a bit more finishing. Arlong Park looks awesome. At first I thought it was 100€, but it's actually 80€ so it's a pretty fair price. I like the main build, which looks lile it has a structural collapse feature (wonder how far they'll go with that). Love the locked-in Luffy and the exclusive Straw Hats. Going Merry is, obviously, amazing, and I like it even more on this clearer picture. There's even a tangerine tree. I wonder if it'll have an interior of some kind, and how big. The Baratie looks fantastic. It's super-well built, and I'm really looking forward to see the interior. So many cool minifigures too, I'm glad they included everyone relevant to this location. So all in all, I love those sets, and I'm looking forward to see more detailed images. I'll definitely be buying the Going Merry and Partys Bar. Quote
MKJoshA Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Overall this theme is top notch. I'll probably end up getting all of them eventually. But the Going Merry, Arlong Park, and the Baratie are day-one purchases for sure. I'm disappointed with Buggy's set. It's accurate to the LA show, but apart from Buggy there's nothing I really want. And I'm disappointed that Zorro's mouth sword is stuck in 1 color for now. I wish the sword could have been removable so you can swap swords in and out. But wow, this theme is getting so much love and I'm so excited for the sets! Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 5 Posted June 5 More detailed pictures are out! The Baratie’s interior is fantastic too! And just when I thought the sets couldn’t get any better, they even included “mini Buggy” (you know, when he only has his head, feet, and hands) I think they use the Thing piece from the Wednesday sets for his hands! The love that went into this theme is incredibly obvious!! This is easily my favourite theme this year. Quote
