Kaijumeister Posted November 1 Posted November 1 This is a genuinely good wave, wow! - The Daily Bugle looks awesome, dedicating the bulk of the set towards the main building is a wise choice. I do wish the building had more depth to accommodate a better interior though. Great to finally get Rhino - Juniors ran so playscale sets could walk. - The Ghost Rider bike is the perfect choice for an impulse set, however the decision to print the glowing effect of the flames escaping GR’s eyes and mouth makes it look too clown-like. - The Epic Moment Collection subline has enormous potential and makes me hope a Green Goblin battle from Spider-Man 1 is on the cards. Can’t believe we’re getting a Spider-Man 3 set! - Buildable Iron Man looks far better than I expected. Despite my derisive attitude towards buildable figures, gotta give credit where it’s due. - I can’t believe they’re actually giving Iron Man some arm printing and new face prints, heck even a dual moulded leg on Venomized Captain America! I still think these Venomised characters feel like a waste when these print budgets could be used towards characters that people actually want, but alas. All in all, really solid wave. Even the repeated ideas we see feel somewhat fresh enough. Quote
Coryo Posted November 1 Posted November 1 There's something almost cruel about giving Cap dual-molding and leg printing but limiting it to only one leg on a half-venomized version, especially since they'll probably never use it on a normal minifig of him. The Bugle does look great though, it'll probably need some modifying for a bit of extra width, but I do far prefer this design/colour scheme to the basic grey office building design used for the D2C. Really glad they were able to re-use the Rhino piece from the 4+ sets before the mold was discontinued, and his mech looks surprisingly decent as well, not nearly as unfitting as the previous times they've included mechs in regular sets. Mandalorianknight Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) Alright. Who was it who kept saying it was Raimi based. I've never been so happy to be wrong. 90% of this wave actually looks incredible: Nicholas's Cagemobile: My first, horrified thought was "oh dear god, they've venomized him", but upon closer inspection that's actually just fire streaming out of his eyes and it looks sick. Amazing figure overall, I love those new fire fists with stud connections on the ends. The bike is a $10 marvel set, it's fine, I like the flaming skull at the front. Immediate buy even if it's going to confuse a generation of kids into thinking Ghost Rider is a bad guy, I can finally complete my Midnight Sons diorama that currently just has a flaming chain coming out of a strange portal. Also great to see the $10 price point continue. 9/10 "Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the Wolverized Venomarine": This is a dumb concept in every way and something the theme is doomed to have, but I'll thank them for constraining it to just one set this wave. There are some little bits in here I like, such as the integrated-suit style for the car, which fits well, or the long-prophesized Wolverized venomarine including a plain black cowl and a nice Feral Wolverine expression. It's not something I think anybody here but completionists will bother picking up, but given how solid the rest of the wave is, I'm inclined to let it go. 6.5/10. Oh, and for $20, it's whatever. Not a great price but for 2025 lego not bad. "Sir, they've venomized set 76280": I've never been so happy to be wrong, this mini-diorama looks amazing. Very well done and I'm glad to see 18+ style, minifigure sets at affordable price points. Minifigures are solid as well- it'll be great to have another Tobey, and he even keeps his dual-molded legs, sandman looks great, and Venom has the legitimately creepiest head print I've ever seen on an official figure. (It is funny how close this is to the last sandman diorama though, I'm not joking when I call it venomized 76280, it literally includes the same build for the yellow triangular girder/antenna as that set but in black.) This is another day one buy, and at $25, a great deal. 10/10. Gotosleepgotosleepgotosleepgotosleep: Any of you feeling silly over complaining over getting another hulkbuster? A similarly incredible showing. The best-looking hulkbuster we've ever seen at this scale, and while it's still oversized compared to hulk, it's not nearly as oversized as they'd been getting. The diorama element and base are excellent touches as well. To top it all off, hulk has an incredible new scarlet-witch-induced-rage expression, and IRON MAN HAS ARM PRINTING? WHAT?!?!?! The price is also not too bad, it's not as good as some of the other sets here, but seeing as it includes a bigfig it's nothing terrible. I'll even forgive the lack of knees and elbows since it's not meant as a playset. I shouldn't buy this, but I'll be hard-pressed not to. 8/10. That menace and his friends are harass an innocent journalist at his place of work whilst a hundred-year-old war veteran is possessed: MYSTERIO? DUDE? Alright, alright, build first. The bugle is solid, no notes. Some good architecture on the front, the fire escape adds lots of room for kids to play with the figures around, and I'll be honest, I unironically love the rhino mech, it's fun. Figure-wise, I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER, THAT MYSTERIO FIGURE IS INSANE AND I'LL HAPPILY SUFFER THE TWO VENOMIZED CHARACTERS THIS WAVE TO OBTAIN IT. Nice to see him get leg printing, but that skull head print is so metal, I love it. I'm gonna need this figure one way or another. Rhino's great as well, and our first non-4+ costumed rhino. There are some odd budget choices- miles appears to have a new torso for some reason, and the fact that Venom Cap has CMF-level detailing is such a strange move. The design underneath actually does look really good and I almost wish they just did a normal cap figure in this set. And unfortunately, while the helmet is black it has venomized printing, so it can't be used for John Walker unless you make the semi-purist move of erasing it. But if Venom Cap is the price of admission for Mortal Kombat Mysterio, I'll take two tickets please. The price is probably the worst value of the wave, it could use another figure, but it's nowhere near as bad as half the sets in the last few waves, still an overall improvement. If I didn't have the modular, this would be an instant buy, and even with owning the modular I'll be hard-pressed to stay away. 8.5/10 I'm not seeking penance for the sets I've bought, I'm asking forgiveness for the set I'm about to buy: No. I can't do it. They... they made a good buildable figure. Did they finally give up and hire Ransom Fern? The shaping of the lower legs, the posability of the upper body, the way the pieces mesh together to make a humanoid form, the part usage of 3x3 dishes for those circular bits on the sides of the suit's hips, or the ninjago piece for the abs....against all odds, they made a good buildable figure. And the iron man figure has arm printing and a new head print... lego, please, don't make me do it, don't make me buy a buildable figure... oh, it's $130. Ok. I'm safe. That's not the worst price, but it's high enough and feels a little overpriced enough in comparison to the rest of this wave that I can safely avoid purchasing it. 8/10... how am I saying that about a buildable figure. All in all, this isn't just the best january wave as far back as I can remember, but probably one of the single best waves the theme has ever had. 1 hour ago, Coryo said: There's something almost cruel about giving Cap dual-molding and leg printing but limiting it to only one leg on a half-venomized version, especially since they'll probably never use it on a normal minifig of him. They gave us a glimpse of what would be a really cool "comic" cap design for these spidey sets and then the graphic designer accidentally spilled digital black ink on the design and they had to go with the venomized angle because the files autosaved before he could fix it. DaredevilFan Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I love on the Hulkbuster and SM3 box ‘Epic moment collections’, seems like a really fun sub-theme. I like the idea of LEGO just choosing cool scenes from any of the movies and giving us a mini display from it. Hope we get a Spider-Man 1 Goblin set soon, or Symbiote Spidey. Ghost Rider and Spider-Man 3 sets are a day one buy. Then I’ll get Hulkbuster on sale Also the Printing on Cap looks amazing, kinda wish he wasn’t Venomised. Quote
SEmrys Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) I haven't been keeping up with the rumours recently so this wave was a nice surprise. The Bugle looks great. Honestly part of me thinks it's a bit more aesthetically pleasing than the D2C. It doesn't have the size or the figure count, obviously, but it's a very nice design for what it is. That Mysterio figure is the best one so far, and I like the Rhino mech too. I do have the D2C so I won't be getting this, but I'll be keeping an eye out for Rhino and Mysterio. I love that Lego are bringing out all these great new designs for Spider-Man villains. Just a shame we have that dumb Captain Venom rather than Electro or someone actually desirable. It's getting weird at this point. The Sandman set is very cool, and I desperately want those villain figures too. Do I want the larger set? It's nice, but not really. However for the price it'll probably be cheaper to just buy it rather try and scour the scalper-ridden second hand market, so I appreciate what Lego have done here. Really hope this leads to a Raimi Goblin set. Similarly, The Hulkbuster looks great. I've always wanted one. Never bought one. This might be the time I finally commit. Love the 'Epic Moment's action scene too. May try and build that into my city rather than on the black stand. And arm printing! What a blessing. I'll repeat, I hope this sub line leads to a Raimi Goblin set. Ghost Rider I'm of two minds about. Dirt cheap which I love. I'm a bit back and forth on the bike. I see the clown complaints but honestly I like what they've done with the face. I already have the old GR figure though so I'm open to them mixing it up here. My GR is currently riding a heavily modded Battinson bike, so this is a maybe. Car vs Wolverine. If I was a bit more forgiving I could probably comment on the build quality or something but I'm not so I won't even look. Silly set. Kids may enjoy it, but I'll never understand why we get all these Spider-cars (and none of them the Spider-mobile at a reasonable price) when there are so many vehicles Lego could use in the Marvel Universe. Expecting my first soon so maybe I'll ask the kid when they're old enough, but for now it escapes me. I mean the Fantastic Four is fresh in people's minds. Just do a Fantasticar or something. Wolvenom may be better than Captain Venom, but he's equally unnecessary. Buildable Iron Man is nicely done but I don't really go for those sets. Edited November 1 by SEmrys Quote
Renny The Spaceman Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Little disappointed in the Sandman set. The build is kinda worthless, the Sandman figure is generic and Spider-Man is reused so while it's cool getting a Spider-Man 3 set Venom is the only interesting thing there Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted November 1 Posted November 1 This wave is surprisingly much better than I would've expected. Well done LEGO Marvel. The Ghost Rider set is cute. Ghost Rider looks great, ans I love the new fist pieces. The build is fairly good too. Spider-Man's car is probably the worst of the bunch. The build is pretty bad, and the minifigures completely uninspired. Daily Bugle is good for what it is, but it could've been more. The building itself is very nicely done, even if it doesn't feel like a 110€ set at all. It's pretty bare, all things considered. The minifigures are fine. Mysterio looks amazing, and it's nice to finally get a good-looking Rhino. The rest are whatever, unexciting. Buildable Iron Man is the second biggest surprise, because... it actually looks awesome? They've finally made a good buildable figure, that will look good on display, has a great minifigure, and doesn't cost 300€. It's overpriced, but still... The Hulbuster set is just great. The armour itself looks fantastic and isn't oversized like they tend to be. Hulk has amazing printing. The display stand isn't substantial, but it's really well done, and helps focus on the figures. Now, for the biggest surprise of this wave... it actually was a Spider-Man 3 set?! This is something I would've literally killed for as a child, and I'd sure as hell kill for it now. The minifigures are amazing—Tobey still has dual-moulding, Venom looks perfect, and Sandman even has leg printing, plus both villains have awesome accessories. The display stand is so good, what with all the metal and Venom's webs. And it also isn't overpriced? Like, 25€ seems fair enough. Definitely a day 1 buy. The Epic Moment Collection has the potential to become the coolest subtheme or gimmick this theme has ever done. They're actually affordable, look good on display, and may focus on movies and scenes we haven't gotten yet. I can't wait to see how they expand it. Quote

Swordy Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) I just finished building the 2024 Milano. A marvelous build; an outstanding, huge presence on display; wonderful characters to boot… I’m real glad I got it at 30% off, but I would be willing to pay full retail since it’s that, dare I say, fantastic. I implore you—yes, YOU—to buy the Milano before it retires, if only for your own sake. To see a Spider-Man 3 set in 2026 is insane—for $25 no less! Agree that the figures look wonderful, but I want to call attention to the perfect balance this set strikes between display and play; literally a set (as in stage) for play. Definitely a Day 1 pickup. Iron Man Mk 3 looks excellent. I don’t buy buildable characters, but this one is definitely tempting. Ghost Rider Bike is a nice small playset, but I’m not a fan of GR’s face. (Wrong Johnny to flame on!) Torn if I want this for my ‘21 Daily Bugle as per my plan or if I wanna track down the older GR and then MOC his bike. Yeah, the Hulkbuster looks ugly, in my opinion. The waist is too narrow, while the shoulders are too wide; it looks like the designer’s frame of reference was the ‘22 D2C Hulkbuster. On the other hand, nice arm printing on Iron Man—AND A NEW FACE FOR TONY? Finally! I love the side with EDITH glasses (I’m assuming it’s the same head between the buildable Mk. 3 and Hulkbuster). Not a set for me, but I appreciate the innovations it brings. Daily Bugle looks great (really wish the D2C DB was done in tan). Mysterio is fire. Venomized Cap getting dual-molding but not regular Cap continues the cruel, cruel joke LEGO Marvel plays. (That black helmet will be great for U.S. Agent customs.) I’ll get Rhino in that $10 4+ set that’s rumored for this year instead. Still, it’s a respectable set on its own merits. Wolverized Venomine…it exists… Edited November 1 by Swordy Quote

Whatever happened to the tarriffs excuse? Either they figured out whatever supply-distribution thing they were worried about, legos are covered by the USMCA, or both, so they can't use it as an excuse to jack up prices. A chunk of the Star Wars US prices went down too for 2026. I can't speak to why the bugle's LESS in USD then EUR though. I vaguely remember there being past times when a single set in a wave had a weird price in some regions compared to others, maybe it's that? Especially if the Bugle's the only one that has that issue. 7 hours ago, psqidexslizer said: Does anyone know why the mech sets weren’t revealed alongside the rest? Because this wave is too peak to be sullied by the mechs. (I think there actually is precedent for the mechs being revealed at a different time than the rest of the wave, I vaguely remember the initial Iron Man/BP/non-wolverized venomarine sets being revealed by themselves initially, before the whole "we have to re-do all three mechs because they have illegal connections so they're being delayed four months" thing. And I'm pretty confident that at least one of the two previous spidey-and-villain mech two-packs was revealed by itself.) 8 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: My work here is done, another set willed into existence Jeez, it‘s getting scary how many specific things I openly wanted that have become a reality recently. No, I think there was a guy not saying he wished it was a raimi set but actually saying he was confident it would be a raimi set. I'll have to go back and look at some point. I'm pretty confident lego actually does run some sort of SEO term search through the forum. It would also explain why they don't realize nobody actually wants stuff like wolverized venomarine- all they see is the engine telling them it's been mentioned 500 times. Kaine, Daredevil, Moon Knight, Luna Snow being in Oscorp. You know what, this last wave has been so good that if they keep it up I'm confident we can squeeze four more specific variants into 2HY, let's go Jon Bernthal Punisher (trenchcoat), MCU John Walker (helmet), Rivals devil 2099, and Rivals Psylocke (the default ancient japan one, not the viral alt skin) 12 hours ago, DaredevilFan said: Also the Printing on Cap looks amazing, kinda wish he wasn’t Venomised. JeanGreyForever Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Spider-Man 3 set is amazing. Would have liked the final battle scene so we could get MJ and Harry/New Goblin but including Venom in this Spidey vs Sandman fight really helps make up for that. Really hope this means that later in the year or in 2027, we can get a set on the first Raimi movie with the Green Goblin. The emphasis of these Raimi sets seem to be on the villains. Daily Bugle set is nice and reminds me of the first one Lego made. Rhino and Mysterio both look decent although I find it funny that J. Jonah Jameson keeps getting a different hairpiece in every set now. They can't seem to decide what to use for him. I agree with everyone else that constantly shoehorning both Gwen and Miles in every set is plain annoying now. They have literally no connection to the Daily Bugle anyway. I'd even rather have more civilian minifigs with reused parts over them at this point. Venomized Cap getting dual molded legs is insane considering Lego never gives his regular minifig that treatment. Ghost Rider set is okay but I was expecting more. As a Wolverine fan, I'm actually interested in getting a Symbiote version of him. The Spidey car is really bad though. The gold detailing seems really out of place because comic Spidey doesn't wear gold. The car's color scheme seems a closer fit to MCU Spider-Man. On 10/29/2025 at 5:14 PM, Mandalorianknight said: I think there's a fair chance, the set has 4-5 repeat characters (depending on if mysterio is new or not), I can't imagine Captain Klyntar being the only exclusive minifigure in the set. It's possible, though given we never got harry at all, were getting a comic aunt may wildly inconsistent with the MCU one, etc, I really think for Flash it was just a case of the superheroes sets not giving us generic civilians much and preferring to do aunt may when they did put them in. (Again with the bugle being the first time we got Gwen). As for who's retired in the comics or not, I don't think lego actually pays much attention to that. Eddie Brock's Carnage in the comics at the moment, and Venom is MJ. I'm confident we don't see either of those. I think you're right about them liking to tie into the movies, but with the comics I don't think anyone on the superheroes dev team could even tell you whether or not Agent Venom was retired. Beyond getting the occasional design they see art of, such as Nu-Ultimate goblin, the vast majority of figures are based on generic sort of "evergreen" designs. I guess J. Jonah Jameson's balding hairpiece counts as a new minifigure lol. That's true about Aunt May although I wonder if she's just way too iconic (the old version of her anyway) that they feel she can conflict with the MCU version and not cause problems with synergy. Although the same can be said about MJ but Disney/Marvel might have been more worried about the racial implications of "replacing" her by continuing to promote the original version. And in general, Marvel's always had an axe to grind against MJ. But in comparison to Flash anyway, Aunt May is a lot more iconic and a household name which is probably why there hasn't been any desperate need to make a Flash minifig. Eddie Brock gets to basically be every Venom there is, between the original, Anti-Venom, and now Carnage. Had no idea MJ is Venom now but like what was said by someone else, I can see that becoming a future minifig if the comic version has gotten any traction. My guess is that the new comic designs (like Ultimate Green Goblin) are only prioritized if it's an especially popular run or character design that's taken off. Quote

Just the Osborn's home and some facility/lab where Norman works. If you'd like to be safe, you could wait until the summer. Usually by then, we know what the next modular is and if we're getting an Oscorp modular set next year or not. This current Oscorp set isn't retiring yet. It's possible one or two of the minifigs might remain exclusive (maybe the Norman one or the Ultimate Green Goblin one). Quote

I don't mind it, partially because it's not going to be accurate to anything anyway since it's another spider-man car, but it's at least a nice lore connection since spidey normally wears gold-in comics and movies both- when associated/sponsored by Iron Man or more recently Norman Osborn, which is the only time he'd have resources to be rolling around in a sports car instead of taking the subway. In a way, although luckily Mysterio and Rhino are both new exclusive figs. Yeah, I don't think they're generally looking much at new comics for comic minifigures. Aside from Nu-ultimate goblin, I can't remember the last time we got a minifigure based off a comic design that was only a few years old at the time. Turtle's dramatic entrance to the thread with that oscorp link made me realize Kraven has Dr. Strange's head, which is laughable. That entire $140 set has four new prints. Compare that to the bugle, which has almost as many pieces, is $40 cheaper, and while it has one less minifigure, has nine new prints.
