Similar to how we got a description for the Captain America: Brave New World set roughly a year before the set released. That’s when they publicly announced the delay, I’m pretty sure they informed their licensing partners well before that And even if the movie still came out in May, I doubt the leakers would know more than they do know. The level of secrecy must be a lot higher than for other movies Quote

At least, I heard that was gonna be possible from now on... The stretchy arms lacking on Reed is really my biggest gripe for the set. I absolutely don't get it.. Regards, Mitch Yep that’s right. Great stuff that a Nightcrawler is supposedly coming. I presume they’d want to squeeze as much out of a new mould for him (if planned), hence creating both X-Men ‘97 and Doomsday versions. Quote
CloneCommando99 Posted Monday at 02:22 PM Posted Monday at 02:22 PM Should we consider that some of the remaining 1HY sets will have something to do with Brickverse? Quote

Have we ever gotten both comic and movie versions of a character debuting in the same year? Not saying it’s impossible, btw, just wondering if there’s any precedence for it. I finally thought of one example - ⚡️Electro⚡️. Both his first appearance based on Ultimate Spider-Man and a ⚡️Electro⚡️ polybag based on TASM2 both came out in 2014. So Nightcrawler would be in good company if he gets both an ‘97 and Doomsday minifigure next year. Quote
psqidexslizer Posted Tuesday at 04:03 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:03 PM (edited) Exabricks has a Lego built Baxter building on his instagram story. Doesn’t look like it’s a modular scale. Looks microscaled. I wonder if that could be the $120 18+ set for January. Or it could be a tease for next year’s modular. Doubt it’s just a Fantastic Four tease, seems specific to the Baxter Building. Edited Tuesday at 04:12 PM by psqidexslizer Quote

Sinistereo Posted Wednesday at 12:31 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:31 AM (edited) So we are guaranteed atleast 1 set for Spider-Man Brand New Day right? Since the movie is out in July of next year the theoretical set should come out around May Edited Wednesday at 12:32 AM by Sinistereo Quote
Buckethead Posted Wednesday at 02:04 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:04 AM Destin Daniel Cretton recently shared a picture on set with framed pictures of Spider-Man comic covers in the background. Kevin Fiege mentioned Destin wants to adapt iconic comic covers and panels for the film. Some months ago, there were some rumored villains for the film, and two of them are featured on the comic covers in Deston's post. There may be more accuracy to those rumors a few months ago, which if true, makes the potential Minifigure selection intriguing. Quote

psqidexslizer Posted Wednesday at 06:26 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:26 PM (edited) New Lego Marvel Disney+ special has a poster in the usual places. Lots of new characters, probably none of which we’ll get as minifigures. Exabricks also posted a close up of the Howard the Duck on his instagram story. I’d be surprised if that ended up being a hint at the character appearing physically next year, but I certainly wouldn’t complain. Also, I’m surprised we still haven’t gotten part 2 of that set list yet. It’s been well over a week. Edited Wednesday at 06:28 PM by psqidexslizer Quote

This is the second Lego depiction we've seen of him now, and that paired with the rumor that he'll come in a set next year, makes me think it might be a comic version after all. Unfortunately I have zero faith in seeing any of the new villains depicted on the poster. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted Thursday at 10:05 AM Posted Thursday at 10:05 AM More pictures of the Spiderverse CMF figures have leaked, showing the trans-orange stands! So glad we’re getting a lot more transparent pieces now with the new formula! Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted Thursday at 11:14 AM Posted Thursday at 11:14 AM UniBricks on YT has a review up! Love that so many of the characters come with alternative facial expressions too ^^ Quote
Clone OPatra Posted Thursday at 12:53 PM Author Posted Thursday at 12:53 PM So many new hairpieces! And so nice to see so many including both masked and unmasked heads. I might feel compelled to get more of this series than I initially thought. Quote

I think most likely case scenario, if we do get more X-Men ‘97 sets next year, is something along the lines of: Sentinel ($50) Brickbuilt Sentinel similar (but slightly different) to the one in the X-Mansion. Includes Wolverine, Gambit, Nightcrawler, and Jubilee. X-Jet ($120) A remake of the X-Jet set from a few years ago with a slightly bigger and more detailed Blackbird (think the recent Quinjets we’ve gotten). Includes Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Havok, Polaris, and a new villain (either Mister Sinister or Apocalypse). Quote
thebricksbear Posted Thursday at 12:59 PM Posted Thursday at 12:59 PM Love that they have second heads but honestly its a big miss for me. About half of the cmf dont have anything new but prints, which we knew would be the case since it was leaked, but I really look forward to unique pieces in the cmfs. As someone who didnt have a 2099, I'm not super jazzed about these versions having super artistic looking prints- there's orange all over 2099, a whitish blue all over Miles, etc... I have no use for things like a cowboy spiderman or cat or horse, but happy for the folks that are big fans of the movie and wanted these. I know its from Across the Spiderverse but I would have much rather had Ham, or Noir, or Peni, or even the Jessica Drew from AtSV. Cyborg looks cool, but I particularly disappointed with Gwen, Miles, and Peter Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted Thursday at 02:04 PM Posted Thursday at 02:04 PM Just noticed that the figures don’t come with jumper plates and posing pieces, unlike the last couple of Superheroes CMF series. I suspect it’s because the 1x2 jumper plate doesn’t exist in trans-orange yet ^^ (the 2x2 does however) Quote

I'd imagine the next X-Jet would use the live-action team instead, and Spoiler leaked photos from the set of Doomsday confirm that the Sentinels will be appearing in an action scene, so it would be much more likely for Lego to make a set based on that. 8 hours ago, thebricksbear said: As someone who didnt have a 2099, I'm not super jazzed about these versions having super artistic looking prints Miguel is supposed to be coming with a Miles Mech in January next year, the designs haven't been specifically confirmed but it seems probable that they'll be regular comic versions. BoyLego Posted yesterday at 11:25 AM Posted yesterday at 11:25 AM I loved the Spiderverse movies (Into more so than Across) and I do think these are good representations of the characters, but they’re all a bit too niche for my collection. This will be the first Marvel CMF where I don’t get a single fig (I am slightly tempted by the werewolf as a novelty). Its funny because if they’d gone X-men ‘97 it would probably have been the first series where I got every fig. Not complaining though, happy for those who will be getting these. Quote

I'd imagine the next X-Jet would use the live-action team instead, and I gotta disagree with this. Doomsday will be lucky to get six sets. Heck, with the way they’ve been cutting back on movie sets, I’d wouldn’t be surprised if it got four or less. There’s a lot of material to cover between the Avengers, New Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Dr Doom, and who knows what else. No way they’re gonna cover everything, or even the most important stuff. Plus, putting all their eggs in the Doomsday basket is risky. Sure, the Avengers movies did well, but a lot of that success came down to how much people loved Iron Man and the other OG Avengers. The new team isn’t much of a box office draw outside of Spider-Man. It’d make more sense to make a couple of X-Men ‘97 sets to cover things the Doomsday sets won’t. Plus, there’s plenty of characters that are covered by the show that aren’t likely to be in Doomsday. As far as the Blackbird and Sentinels are concerned, we have no idea if they’re even going to appear in Doomsday, and if they are, if they’re going to be important enough to include in sets. Quote
