Realistically I think this line will have the Pearl, the Dutchman and the Queen Anne's Revenge, I'd be surprised if they make any other ships or sets from other locations. So that doesn't leave a lot of room for Pintel and Ragetti, they could include them in the Flying Dutchman with a rowboat but I think that ship will be filled with Jone's crew and likely Will and Bootstrap, maybe a new Jack with coat and pirate Elizabeth if they base it off the third movie. So they could do a CMF line for PotC, so many cool figs they could do which wouldn't fit in with the other ships. Pintel, Ragetti, Tia Dalma, Norrington, Beckett, Governor Swan, Murtogg and Mullroy, Captain Teague, cursed skeleton versions of Jack and Barbossa and more versions of the main characters and crew members for all the ships. I just hope we do eventually get Pintel and Ragetti eventually. Realistically, this “line” is one off with just Black Pearl… What makes you think that QAR or FD are next? 😀 Besides hopefull wishes of course… Quote
F1stzz Posted August 3 Posted August 3 (edited) Impressions regarding the minifigures, obvious negatives: 1. Captain Barbossa is missing his signature yellow sash; 2. Medium Blue legs on Jack is a miss; 3. There's no point in making Marty's torso white unless he also has the double-sided jacket like Jack; 4. Only 2 minifigures out of 7 (excluding Elizabeth) have printed legs, and it's the exact same figs that had em in 2011 too. EDIT: as people on Reddit are pointing out, Jack doesn't have the scabbard/bandolier on his torso print and Cotton's supposed to have a vest. Obvious positives: 1. Hairpieces seem nice, although I'd like Barbossa's hat to be a little more massive; 2. Gibbs in particular has gotten a much closer torso print to the designs seen in the movies in comparison to 2011 figure; 3. The new Will Turner is honestly splendid, but gotta wait for better quality pics so we could take a closer look at the details of his prints; 4. Jack seemingly finally has matching skin tones on both his head/arms & torso. 5. The new bandana colour is likely about to be introduced with Cotton, perhaps in Bright Light Blue or Light Lilac, something in that colour range. Unrelated, but isn't this also the first time we get the flintlocks in black since the 90s? Edited August 3 by F1stzz Quote
Elephant Knight Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I am liking what I am seeing. I am actually very happy about the new Gibbs minifig. I like how he has a much more neutral expression. I honestly prefer the original Barbossa. The ship itself looks great, cant wait to get my hands on it. Eknight Quote
MaxLaMenace Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Mixed feelings, here. What we saw from the Pearl looks gorgeous: love the figurehead, pleased with the sails, there are some great details everywhere. The only thing I'm worried about is the cabin door/stair/helm section, because it doesn't look that accurate (at least for now, but I hope I'm wrong). As for the minifigs, well... most of them are splendid: Will, Elizabeth, Jack, and Marty. Gibbs and Anamaria look really good too. Cotton would be perfect if they had given him his vest, but OK, that's fine. Surprised to see that we get no Pintel, though. But... but... but Barbossa? What the hell have they done to him? The disappointment is as great as the expectations I had when looking at his Fortnite version (and I'm not easily diappointed). I had pinned all of my hopes on this minifig, and I really feel let down. It's not worthy of such an expensive set. The only good thing about this fig is that they finally gave him his grey frockcoat, rather than black. But the rest looks really dull - and the absence of the yellow sash is definitely not unrelated to that. His beard is almost in the middle of his face, and the hat piece is awful. The hair and the feather poorly integrate, and the hat is so small, so flat, so ridiculous. Did they even look at Barbossa's costume? I mean, the Fortnite design nailed it, the hat/hair piece was perfect. Why, Lego? Why? And I suppose we won't get a new Barbossa minifig before a veeeeery long time, which makes it all even more disappointing. So yeah, great ship, solid minifigs (even without leg-printing), except one... Quote

No, we did not — those were also Pearl Dark Grey flintlocks One thing I'd say in regards of the flintlocks in 10365 is that perhaps they only seem to be black on the pictures we have available, but in reality they may as well turn out to be Pearl Dark Grey, that's certainly possible. brickbride Posted August 3 Posted August 3 (edited) US price is now reported to be USD 380. It's unclear as of yet what this means for the rest of the world. Edited August 3 by brickbride Quote
RichardGoring Posted August 3 Posted August 3 The ship looks great. I think the figures look good too, to be honest. I wish there were more of them, as the ship may feel pretty empty, but it should be full of life and activity. The name is bizarre, the price at $380 seems very high. I keep thinking back to PoBB for $200, which was smaller, but also had an island with it! Inflation and tariffs have been tough for the last five years! Looking forward to seeing more images and the ship in-person. Quote
Rwbricks Posted August 3 Posted August 3 As cool as the set looks, with the lack of Pintel, Ragetti, and Jack the monkey, and then the price increase for the US, I am less enthused than I was yesterday. It does look like Elizabeth has the Jyn Erso face and not the Princess Leia face, so that’s something. I think I preferred the latter. Quote

_R_R_ Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I remember when we had no hope they would ever revisit this license and here we are. I'm sure that if this sells well enough we will definitely see a Dutchman, Davy Jones alone goes for crazy prices and they would be leaving money on the table if they didn't do a Dutchman, the ship everyone has requested since the original line in 2011. For the minifigures I will definitely be adding the ones that came with the original Pearl to the new one, maybe reuse Gibb's old torso for Cotton so he has the vest and have Jack fighting Jones and the rest of the crew fighting Maccus, Bootstrap and Hadras. I might also change Barbossa's head, not really liking how the beard is done on the new one. Another easy way to add minifigures to this would be adding some skeleton minifigures with pirate hats and such, so the good guys are fighting Barbossa's cursed crew instead. I don't like the price but it was predictable, I'll still get this on day 1 as it's a dream come true. Quote

Barad Dur was already in the making when Rivendell was released… Bag End is huge miss, because of its poor design and huge price (for what it is). Black Pearl with around 2,9k pieces for almost $400 will probably not sell well enough. Depends on the overall design and willingness of AFOLs to do TLGs biding… I cant justify this expensive even for myslef no matter what. Dutchman is far more bugger than Black Pearl, so would be what… $500 set? $600 set? Thats is just insane, and we are just speculating… I think that this is one off. And probably it should be one off. RichardGoring Posted August 3 Posted August 3 LEGO will choose to make as much money as possible in the most efficient way possible. If enough people buy the Pearl Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship and they think they can get away with a $500-$600 additional ship, they'll do it. They have the Titanic for $680. Rivendell was $500 three years ago and there's been a lot of inflation since then. The Death Star will be $1000. There have been several $800 Star Wars sets. The Bricklink Designer Program is showing LEGO that they can charge close to $400 and have sets sell out within days. But I do think that $500 or more for it will feel far too much, so who knows. Quote
Legoman456 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 So can we confirm that Jack the Monkey isn’t in the set then? I’d really hoped for him to be included and can’t see why he wouldn’t be. Also what do we think the scale of the interior is going to be? Quote

Yes, but the only reason we knew that was because of a survey link. There is a good chance the Dutchman is already in the making as well. Just cause there's no leak this time doesn't mean it's not coming. Also, when Rivendell was coming out it came out in a designer interview that they would only release more LOTR sets if Rivendell sold well, even though they already had Barad-dur designed. Quote
DonQuixote Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Pirates of Barracuda bay was my first set in 2020 after a long dark age. €200 for an incredible island or ship. With €380? for this new Black Pearl and €170 for the prize machine, I am thinking to go back to my dark age. The prices don't reflect the quantity. The Pearl looks good, maybe the sails should be a little broader like the Barracuda . But waaay overpriced. This happens when people just say : day 1 buy for me and shut , take my money. Time to quit the hobby and just build with bricks I have. Quote

Its not about quiting the hobby… Its just not buying new sets for riddiculous amount of money… I am wery picky about what to buy, since I have limited space and also, I am willing to pay premium only for premium (by my standards of course). PoBB is remarkable set, with perfect story telling, great design with only minor flaws here and there (like a gunports for instance), with lots of playability and displaybility… all of that for $ 200. It is still quite amount of money, but I dont feel like I was cheated and ripped out… I am afraid, that with Black Pearl, it will be a different story… Quote
DonQuixote Posted August 4 Posted August 4 To the Lego company : why not raise the price to $399,99? A nice round number. People will complain but buy it day one anyway. Throw in a GWP with Jack the monkey and you can even raise it to $440. Quote
