imvanya Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I wonder why 6929/6930 weren’t used for the front. I guess the set was designed and approved before those pieces became available? It doesn’t look like it is really necessary to use the triangular tile and not the new wedge piece. The only reason I can think of is that the hood would be a boring uninterrupted pink surface. Quote
6129c04 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 @Void_S Hello, Very nice approximation, I'm curios how close you got with the internals, hopefully the additional pictures from the official reveal will provide further details so that you can reverse engineer the car closer to the official model. Personally I feel that TLG dropped the ball with this one, the front looks quite wrong using those new curved wedges. If you are kind enough to modify your build please replace parts 5093 & 5095 and the two 35787 beneath them with 80177 & 80178. I'm pretty sure it will look better. Even better if you can keep the same angle/position from your first render, that will make the comparison 100% accurate. Thank you. @imvanya Hello, Those new pieces are a stud too long, if they would start at the same point as those in the official model they would stick out. They cannot be moved back one stud as the wheel arches won't allow it. Quote

kjuraszek Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Hello, @Void_S awesome job on creating this one! As for the TLG car itself - after seeing the official graphics I am a bit disappointed. The rear lights are stickers, the car itself in my opinion does not look interesting - at first look it seems that there is a lack of clever solutions that the SC series is famous for. Also, I am not a fan of either the F&F series or Honda. On the plus side: I think (?) new wheel covers, glass and pink fenders. I saw a photo of the Bugatti from the summer wave somewhere, do you know what the current status of the entire summer wave is (confirmed cars etc.) ? Quote

The wheel covers are cool and the new windscreen, otherwise I don't need pink bricks for any projects in the foreseeable future. "Brick On" Well, one year ago we got all June LEGO Speed Champions photos on April 26th. So I suppose we'll get new ones in approaching week. But heard in FB group: For anyone wanting to know the colours -Bugatti - White -Porsche - Orange (lighter) -Lambo 1 - Light Blue -Lambo 2 - Orange (darker) -Dodge - Green (maybe lime or bright light green?) Was hard to tell cause of how it printed out For the oranges, it looked like the Porsche might be bright light orange like the McLaren 1:8, and the Lambo in normal orange Or it could be Porsche in normal orange, and Lambo in reddish orange (like the Technic G wagon) The Blue Lambo looked maybe like bright light blue, or medium azure type blue (sky blue) Source: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1F6RoGPeRu/ Quote
StudWorks Posted April 21 Posted April 21 The GT3 RS in BLO would be sick! (As someone whose favorite car color is Signal Yellow) Quote
6129c04 Posted April 22 Posted April 22 @Bartlomiej Thanks for the info! If it would happen as I wish then: Porsche: Bright Light Orange. We already had the F1 (76918) in Orange (also 76919 and 77251) and I want more variety when it comes to colors. Lambo 1: Bright Light Blue. 76414 was a Bright Light Blue battlepack, it brought many recolors, after that 76424 was like a teaser bringing part 5404 în this color so now everything's ready for a SC set in this color. Lambo 2: Reddish Orange. More and more parts are getting recolored in Reddish Orange and I really like this color, it's very striking, a SC car would look beautiful in this color (assuming the shaping is well done). Dodge: Bright Green. There is enough Green in my opinion, sets 76925 and 77245. As I said we need more variety, Sauber (77247) looks more "radioactive" than the Aston Martin (77245), therefore I think Bright Green could make the car look more flashy and special. About Medium Azure we had enough with 76898, 76905 and likewise Lime with 76899, 76910. For better or for worse at least 77241 is a nice Dark Pink battlepack. I'm definitely considering it due to this even though I'm not fully satisfied with the shaping. Quote
Jaromir Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Have you seen any photos of actual sets, or their representation done in the computer 3D program? Quote
kjuraszek Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) I only came across one picture of Bugatti on a Reddit thread (not sure if it's legit though): Edited April 26 by MKJoshA Don't quote or link to leaked photos Quote

So... We're waiting for August to get them all. Unfortunately only one car is planned to be released in July Edited April 26 by MKJoshA Don't quote or link to leaked photos Quote
McHaleBerg Posted May 1 Posted May 1 photos are out in the wild, initial thoughts from the group? Quote
Bartlomiej Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 1 minute ago, McHaleBerg said: photos are out in the wild, initial thoughts from the group? In my opinion. Amazing!! Mamy new parts, new rims. The headlights in Porsche are amazing invention and finally I can do cool looking Porsche LMGT3! Bugatti also very interesting. Rims are maybe the most beautiful in the series. But one thing bothers me. Stickered rear lights?! Seriously Lego?! Dodge, well is Dodge it's like brick ok the wheels 😆. But anyway I'm still buying. Lamborghinis cool af. Headlights, rear lights recreated from little plant bricks. And tbh the rear looks very interesting and maybe a little complicated. So summary... My wallet is dying. I can hear its scream 😆 Quote
Void_S Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) Well, I can't say I'm really happy with these models, like usually. There some new amalzing parts but also I regretabbly 77237 - "Dodge Challenget SRT Hellcat" in lime color The model looks ridculosly long (2 studs for front and rear overhang, 4 for mudguards and 8 for the middel part). The Challeneger is a big car, I know, but with the proportions its looks too "long-nosed". I like these kind of cars and was waiting for this model (and even made my vision of it, with ~320 parts used). Now I can say I see it like a somehow "lazy build" - with 390 parts used it could have much better result. Now what I do like: New 1x3 curved slopes (the front bumper) - the 1x2 slopes 11477 are now stretched to 1x3 length. I can't wait for other colors for this part! New "Round-legged" mudguards - the 35789 part now have their "short siblings" like 18974 got 3387 once. It is a logically expected step to have the "low profile" variant for this part too bit I expect a very limited use of it - there are not so many cars with a low side profile and without any skirts underside. A special like goes to 1x1 plates with a clip addon in trans-clear color for the headlights - I spent a lot of time to achive the "angry brow" effect using the exisiting 1x1 rounded studs with uneven offset, and this way looks even more accurate than my attempts. Jaromir Posted Friday at 05:14 PM Posted Friday at 05:14 PM Wow, great sets. I think best wave ever, I like and must have all of them. I think Lamborghini two pack is the best set ever, I think the huracan is almost perfect (apart of the fact that rear lights are stickers, unfortunately) and will be my favourite car ever. Bugatti looks solid and the shape is represented well, again rear lights as stickers. I do like the Dodge a lot, simple shape but everything on spot, I have f&f dodge, which I didn't liked before I built it, which turned out to be decent set, I believe this one will be much better. I am little bit upset with Porsche, it looked disgusting at the beginning to me and looking far from the real car, but the more I look on it from different angles, the more I like it. Don't want to be misunderstood or rude,, but am I the only one who thinks that this forum thread is dieing? This wave is amazing (my personal amazing) and beating down every other wave since cars were 8 stud wide, but there is no enthusiasm here, only few posts. Speed champions is one of the most affordable LEGO theme, it is enjoyable for kids as for the adults fans of motorsports and cars, providing very complex building technics like in UCS sets, for a price smaller than 30 USD. dimka_ya Posted Friday at 06:56 PM Posted Friday at 06:56 PM What can i say? I'm disappointed with the 911 - TLC have again placed the headlights too high (as they did on the Utopia) - it spoils the whole feeling of the car. The rear parts of the Hurakan and Bugati look massive, but maybe I can remake them if I decide to buy them :) And about the steering wheel. I'm glad that it is now well positioned in relation to the driver. But maybe it was worth printing something in between the previous and current versions, the 2-stud steering wheel is too big for these cars :) Quote

It's almost half of the year and we have only 5 pages here. I want do see people commenting, reviewing, Giving observations and opinions, maybe arguing a little about e.g. headlights (personally I like it). 2 hours ago, Jaromir said: Are there not so many fans of speed champions in here? jonwil Posted Saturday at 01:28 AM Posted Saturday at 01:28 AM I am interested in the Lambo 2-pack but nothing else from the new wave. If the Hellcat had been in bright green, I might have been interested. Quote
