A few thoughts:

-From a parts perspective, I really like the LBG sets being released.  LBG panels have been pretty scarce compared to other colors.

-The Valkyrie is beautiful. I love the simplistic design of the exterior, and the dark turquoise color is fantastic.  I have not purchased any of the flagship car models, but if TLG releases a flagship Valkyrie in Turquoise or dark green, I’d be very tempted to buy one.

-The Bronco is quite nice.  I think I would’ve preferred a different color, like medium blue, but I like the set.  New tires and fender trim are nice.

-Front Loader is great.  I love the compact size and gearing crammed in the space.  I wish it had different wheels though.  Bronco wheels would look better.

-I’m on the fence when it comes to the excavator.  It’s unnecessarily large and expensive, especially given it’s not RC. The gearbox design is disappointing too, especially given only one function can be operated at a time.  I’m not even sure it’s bi-directional?  I do like the multiple attachments and the auxiliary drive for the attachment, but that aside, past excavators have been done better and cheaper.  I’m happy TLG provided a construction set rather than another vehicle, but I wish it were a bit more appealing.

I think the Valkyrie and Front Loader will be Technic purchases this year.  The City construction lineup is looking pretty appealing to me otherwise.

Only Education deserves rechargeable batteries... Can't have something as high tech as this in a 400€ Technic set in 2025!

Oh and if you don't have arachnophobia, here's something hideous:

Something definitely worth testing after release, @kbalage? :)

Do you really want rechargeable batteries? Proprietary ones, that sooner or later will die, and then, unlike discontinued software, there's no way to recover without electronics skills or expensive 3rd-party substitutes?

Until consumer electronics agree on a standard for rechargeable Li-Ion cells (such as 18650), I'll happily settle with standard AAs and AAAs plus a charger for them.

Yes, lego will soon turn into literally, a single use plastic, with that proprietary batteryes and electronics:/.

100000000% agree with this. It's 2025, every household that can afford a $400 Technic set has zero excuse to not already have a AA charger.

I'm still unsure about this concept, especially in a classroom. Can the batteries be removed and charged separately? Can they be replaced? Imagine a classroom where you have to make sure 4 devices per student are properly charged instead of just one, and you probably can't even quick-swap them.

Scheduled for August, will try to get them after that.

Both are 'no'.

But it has + head screw on bottom. Not * screw which TLG usally use.

Where did you find more photos of them?

I'm working on one of korea's lego education bender.

Interesting, thanks for the details! I guess we'll have to wait for more official information. If the batteries aren't replaceable, that's a pretty unique situation. I mean, the rechargeable Power Functions battery box was similar, but having multiple different components with non-replaceable batteries doesn't seem like the most future-proof approach and a lot more possibility of failure. Most people worry about the software, this will be something else.

This new robotics system seriously has me worried and its not even the watermelon color scheme...

They're supposed to have wireless motors and maybe sensors yet theres this hideous spider looking cable hub,

The sizes of the parts is also huge and their connections are not great to say the least...

I don't know why people would buy this (and it will be overpriced)...

Well, the size of the parts can be explained by each one having to include its own battery, and the spider cable is to be able to charge everything at once. But I too don't see a bright future for this kind of system.

Honestly, I don't get it either... Not having external wires to break is good. But having a presumably non replacable battery? Seriously not cool. How about a system with plugs like the 9v system so wires breaking is not an issue... Doesn't seem that hard to me. Maybe wireless motors is the next big thing though.

I can't believe TLG charges 400 € for it WITHOUT C+!!!!! And still it's just ~2500 pcs.

What are they doing with the prices across themes?!!

The 42100 set cost $450 at premiere. It included 7 motors and 2 technic hubs.

I really like the Volvo excavator, but its price is a clear **** of customers.

Let's just... not use such language here please... also completely inaccurate term, since buying it is 100% a choice.

I've edited your post.
Do not use words like that on the forum.
Keep it civil.

For my part i find it ways too expensive too. I can understand that the cost of the c+ may be important. But in this case why not offer some basic set including one hub and 4 motors and then offer sets that are compatible with the basic c+set? This would be fair for everyone. Fair for the planet and totally in the original spirit of lego technic. I remember in the '80 it was this principle and it was very cool.

Woohoo! New LEGO electronics. Maybe our past predictions about the Powered UP system were correct and it's truly being phased out for good in favor of this new cordless system. And for good reason. It seems our prayers have been answered.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc_0lHbPqtk

Chances are strong to the 90th percentile that this new cordless electronics system isn't compatible with Powered UP. If I am correct, then that probably means Powered UP will be axed soon in favor of a brand new cordless system comprising of components with internal rechargeable batteries and easy connectivity, which I already believe is much better. I know we shouldn't judge a book by its cover of course, but this is a really good sign that LEGO is going back to the basics of providing electronics that work independently of an app, which in and of itself is a major improvement.

Hallelujah on a physical remote! Hopefully that means no more app-only control of future sets. TLG has made it clear that cordless electronic components will only be present in the Education theme for now, but that hopefully means it won't be long now before a more advanced version of the cordless electronic system (that we haven't seen yet) trickles down to LEGO's consumer-facing lineup to replace Powered UP elements in Technic sets, preferably by the next wave of sets in the first half of 2026.

Anyway, didn't mean to go too off-topic here, but it is clear now that TLG is headed in the right direction with their electronics system, and that is really good news, even for 2025.

I wish it used odd units at least for the widths of the parts, because it fits better into studless technic but is still good at fitting into system/studful (i.e "classic") technic
