CloneCommando99 Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 (edited) So. Are the ninja mutating into dragons? They now have tails. Which is something dragon form didn’t have in Crystallised. Edited December 2, 2025 by CloneCommando99 Quote

As someone who doesn't keep up with Ninjago much it's always fun to watch Riyu grow through each year of sets. That said... I bought a polybag and the jay battle pack a few years back, but this is going to be the first over-$10 set I've bought from the theme since I was a kid towards it's start. A very elegant monastery entrance with THE ENTIRE S1 MAIN CAST? FOR $45? DAY ONE PURCHASE. Quote
mantax Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 These new sets are a bit of a mixed for me, I definitely wouldn't call any of them bad, but most of them aren't anything special to me. Kai's mech - For sure the best looking mech from these $10 battle packs, but it also has the worst minifigure selection. Riyu - The head just looks wrong , but the rest of the build looks as good as it could have possibly been at this price point. I especially love how you can give him the weapons from Cole's mech(for that set and the display I have nothing new to say). Jay's car - It just feels very boring compared to what you had with other ninja cars at this scale. The function to change the front just doesn't make that much of a change to the car, and you even have to do it manually. It does look good, but that I can't say about the price. Treehouse - This just feels like an amazing playset with so many things to do. So I'd say that this isn't really something for me, but I can appreciate it for what it is. The Arc dragon - From the leaked image I wasn't really a fan of it, but now I can say that it is just an amazing set all around. It's got a great minifigure selection, a nice villain build, which is relevant to the show. It doesn't look to be that much smaller then the Source dragon of motion, while it also has a high level of detail almost everywhere. I've seen a lot of critique for this set on different places, and maybe expect for the wings, I can't really understand why. The spinners are also great, The Nya one is a must have for me, as the mutation monster has the best design from all of the new villains in my opinion. It's also funny how the Earth monster somehow has a unique hat piece there. We know that the monsters come from corrupted elemental powers of the Ninja. There are also going to be 3 more in the summer wave. and I'm really curious on how they could represent the corrupted versions of Ice, lightning and Fire. With that I expect that the same Loyalist minifigures are also going to show up in the summer sets, but I think that the Monsters are going to be all new. Also the monsters are going to grow in size later, So it would be nice to see one maybe be around the scale of a Titan mech, and that to be a set itself(or at least one slightly bigger then an Elemental mech) Quote
Takanuinuva Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 Sets look good but Lego still hasn't learned how to correctly price for Canada. Even with conversion. Riyu is not 60 and Jay's car isn't 70. Quote
hikouki Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 Haven't been able to keep track but to date, there have so far been 3 sets for the anniversary, correct? The blacksmith house, minifig display stand, and the Mech? Quote

I don't mind, I'm just gonna order the parts for a normal earth and mutation monsters off of bricklink anyway Quote

I’m guessing they’re saving the Old Town for its own unique reveal, shame it hasn’t been unveiled yet and I can’t wait to see it. I am absolutely loving each of these Ninjago Legacy sets. The value for money, build quality, and overall approach towards the 15th anniversary is really well thought out. I wonder if we’ll get more of these in the summer. The Dragons Rising stuff interests me less (mostly because the usual cadence of dragons, vehicles, and mechs feel repetitive), however the use of the bigfig head on the mutation monsters is quite charming! In the same cadence as the last few years I’m sure the summer wave will bring about some more desirable and complex DR sets. Quote
Nearlyheadlessbrick Posted December 4, 2025 Posted December 4, 2025 Holy heck, seven exclusive Ninjago minifigs for BAM next year! Quote
Takanuinuva Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 4 Nya figs to collect in 2026 I think that's a record for the most in a release wave Hopefully they won't be too expensive in the after market Quote
Rolyat24 Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 This is a very interesting wave. Most of the DR sets don’t interest me that much, but I am liking the look of the Dragon of Life more than the leaked pictures. Riyu is nice but it’s hard to justify yet another model of him, especially when we’re fairly likely to eventually see a “full-sized” adult Riyu. The treehouse is laughable, and the vehicles in that set aren’t much better. Still, I’m sure kids will like it. Shame that Euphrasia is in that set, that’ll be the second time I can’t get her minifig. I actually like Jay and Nya’s car, but not enough to actually buy it. Cole and Kai’s mechs are also good, just nothing super special or new. I do wish they had included a full dragon Kai in that small set. As it is, it’s not worth it to buy it for the figs. It also bothers me that the new ninja don’t get the cool new suits each wave. Arin and Sora are arguably the two main characters now, and I think their dragon suits would look really cool. Not to mention there’s no sign of Wyldfyre or Frak. Hoping they both show up in the next wave. The Legacy sets are definitely the stand outs here. That display stand is sleek and comes with a full slate of characters! Lloyd’s mech is a great upgrade to the 2019 set and looks to rival Cole’s Titan Mech! (But I’m still waiting for Kai and Nya to get their own). The Old Town promises to be another good one, and it sounds like it’ll be revealed next week! Rumors say Tuesday, so we’ll see! This leaves one final Legacy set for the summer wave. Any guesses on what it could be? Fire Temple? Borg Tower? Great Devourer? I feel like a lot of the most iconic sets have already been reimagined. Finally, the new BAM minifigs are a cool addition to the anniversary. Mystake especially will be popular as a new oni, but I’m more excited for S10 Nya and casual PIXAL. I’ll have to get to a Lego store if I can! Quote
Lyichir Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 Saw a blurry leaked pic of the Old Town... looks decent and hard to pick out many details but for me personally I'm a little worried about the size. Seems to be like a large ring arrangement (sort of reminiscent of sets like Sentai Fortress or Fort Legoredo), which is a perfectly fine layout except I'm not sure it'll fit on many of my usual shelves (unlike with a more horizontal arrangement like the Ninjago City sets). May have to figure out somewhere new to display it. Quote

I’m sure my thoughts will be more positive with HD pictures. I’ve been craving a large Ninjago set since the Gardens but Tournament Temple City and the Workshops haven’t appealed to me the same way. Meaf Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Wow the Old Town looks great. Looks like it's absolutely packed with details and that's just from the pictures we have right now. Also pretty impressed by the minifigures, a lot of times they end up being kind of meh when you get so many in one set (especially nowadays) but they largely look really good. There are also just tons of notable characters from the show which is awesome. All around seems like a great set and pretty worthy of the pricetag, which is nice since you can't always say that about modern D2Cs. Quote
Blazej_Holen Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Review is up: Designer interview: Speedbuild: Quote
Red Rackham Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 All in all, it looks very neat and playful. There are tons of Easter eggs and the minifigures are great. The relatively low price for this number of pieces is certainly due to the many 1x1 parts. I'm just not sure how it would fit into an NC layout. Somewhere near the Dragon Shrine or Airjitzu Temple. The 71847 Dragon might fit in the hollow space in the middle. Even if it would cover up quite a bit. Quote
Vindicare Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 I was hoping for something more baseplate friendly, only to make it fit better. But holy cow is this fantastic! Loved it from pictures but then watched the designer interview & I'm very excited to get it. I like the straight(ish) line layout f can possibly make it work with the Modulars. For me, as someone who hasn’t kept up with the show, the minifig lineup is good, but not overly exciting. I would prefer more townsfolk in a set like this. Quote
Kaijumeister Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 The Old Town is a wonderful love letter to the theme and the minifigure lineup has so many big hitters. As objectively amazing as the set itself is, I’m debating whether or not to get it. The modularity is appreciated and the build is amazing, but I think I would’ve preferred a single cohesive structure. Anyway, that all said, I hope we have another location on the cards for the summer Legacy set(s). The fact that Legacy is thus far comprised solely of location builds and a high-end mech (disregarding the polybag) makes me wonder if they’re avoiding more vehicles this time round because Dragons Rising already has a plethora of them every year. I've seen a lot of critique for this set on different places, and maybe expect for the wings, I can't really understand why. Not sure if serious. Not much smaller than set 71822? Ahahah it's a lot smaller, nothing comes close to that except 71847 which is still smaller. Mass wise this 71859 is comparable to the following sets: 71721 (€80), 71786 (€100), 71796 (€105), 71836 (€100). Part count wise also comparable to the above, though 71836 has significantly less than the others. Minifigs this and 71836 are in the lead. So this is basically a $100 set, well it's actually 110 USD, we can blame TLG for this tariff war garbage and price disparity between markets. I'm not buying it, though it looks alright, but it doesn't have that compelling body sculpting for me, it's not just the wings, the belly looks unfinished and too thin and straight. They could have tried a bit of curvature like in set 80047 but still not go full Asian dragon. Admittedly it looks much better than the absolute dumpster fire that 71836 (hall of shame champion right here) was but I'm still keeping my money. 71822 was something special (not perfect though), I really recommend people try to get it, I know it's not cheap (even when discounted), but it's the best benchmark one can have when it comes to Lego dragons, and once you build it and have it it really takes something equally special to make you part with your money from that point forward. Meaf Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 Not sure if anyone else has seen the piece count leaks for summer 2026 yet, but apparently Ninjago is getting four sets with over 1000 pieces? Obviously we need more details but just judging by this it looks like most of the sets for this wave are going to be pretty big. Quote

Meaf Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 Finished building the Ninjago City Workshops yesterday, anyone have any suggestions on how to fit all the City sets together? Currently trying to figure out a nice layout that includes all five (not that I have room to keep them connected but I'd like to get some pictures at least). Quote
Mandalorianknight Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I sat in the queue to get into lego.com and the Ninja Anniversary Display was already sold out when I got in ONE MINUTE after midnight. Disappointing- a lot of the January 1st sets in a number of themes are, I can't believe lego doesn't try to keep a larger stock. Quote

Look on the bright side: This pretty much confirms that Legacy will stay over the next couple of years. Lego’s just not going to leave the money on the table. Kai season 2 Fire Mech, Raid Zepplin, Ghost Mech… they’re all within grasp!! Quote
