Yeah, it's a shame, low-key would rather they were all silver if it was one or the other

It does, yeah, are we only getting one other anniversary set this wave or am I mistaken?

There's meant to be this, the Cole polybag, the anniversary display set, and something called the 'Old Town'.

Plus Lloyd’s Titan Mech coming in March I believe.

A supposed minifig list for the “Old Town” set has leaked. Not sure about the source, but if it’s true this could go down as one of the best lineups in Ninjago history. Again, I’m skeptical, especially considering it includes long awaited characters like Dr. Julien and the return of Krux, Acronix, Harumi, and others. Anyone have any insight as to whether or not it could be true? The wide variety would lead me to definitely think it’s another city modular, as the characters are truly all over the place.

The Blacksmith shop is simply amazing. There is just so much attention to detail (like with the weapons being the same as in the old Kai and Nya spinners, or the hidden 2011 cards). It looks a bit small for the price, but I think the level of detail justifies it.  The aniversary minifigures are the old elemental masters, and from the back of the box we know  at least who 6/7 of them are .  This set is definitely a must have for me.

The minifigs list for The Old Town looks that great that I'm not sure if it's real. I remember seeing this leaker as the source of some other set leaks, I can't remember any of them, but I think he's reliable. Now with this set having 3 15th nniversary minifigs, then that means that there is only going to be 1 more set with an aniversary minifig in the summer wave. That makes it easier to collect them all, but that also means less aniversary sets(unless there could be some without aniversary minifigures).

The leaked list comes from MaxBaut, he’s as reliable as it gets :classic:

The Four Weapons looks simply incredible. I can understand some of the concerns that it looks a little small, but nonetheless it looks dense and packed with detail and easter eggs rather than this being a matter of small surplus pieces that only exist to pad out the piece count.

I mostly liked what Lego tried with Legacy in 2021, trying to reinterpret evergreen locations and vehicles, however this 15th anniversary celebration strikes me as far better. The build and minifigures look incredibly faithful to the show, only with modern sensibilities, building techniques, and price-points that we couldn’t have gotten back in 2011.

The display stands for the annniversary minifigures look incredibly ornate too. I can’t wait to see what the remaining 15th anniversary sets look like.

The blacksmith shop looks awesome. Kinda small for the price but it's so dense and detailed that it does make up for it imo. I wish we got more stuff like this, maybe we will in the future if this one does well?

Hi I'm new here. BrickTap says that the Old Town (71861) will NOT be a Ninjago City set. Do we believe them or is there a chance it still will be a modular? The minifig lineup seems too big for a non-modular set imo.

Welcome! I would believe it, they rarely post incorrect information, I for one don't remember the last time they have! If they say it isn't modular I believe them.

Really sucks because I was definitely looking forward to a new one. I still might get this set when it releases depending on how it looks. When can we expect pictures of the set?

If the release is January 1st as I recall it should be within the next month or so. Someone with more knowledge than me can correct me if I'm wrong)

Thanks! That’s a pretty long  list of minifigures for that “Old Town” set. It does sound like “modular” to me as the previous modular sets have long lists of minifigures.

With no leaked description avaaible, I’m very curious about it!  Waiting game is on….

A picture of Jay ZX is out… and his armor and mask are gold. I don’t know why they couldn’t make him accurate, it’s not like they’re reusing a piece for his mask. I’m still looking forward to seeing the builds, but he and Cole are disappointing.

Update: we have a short description! And apparently Dr. Saunders will be in the set rather than Ed. The set sounds similar to the Temple of Aijitzu, with a large central building (described as a monastery) with two side shops. I’m hoping it looks distinct enough from the older set, as it would feel silly to repeat that layout when there are infinite other creative possibilities. I’ll stay cautiously optimistic.

Jay ZX looks bad with a gold mask and armor. Maybe they didn’t want to have to recolor the armor element in 1-2 additional colors? Mystake has also leaked and looks pretty generic with a straw hat and reused torso.

It genuinely bothers me how they were able to butcher Jay so much. The golden looks disgusting and mixes horribly with silver. The torso isn't even that good, why did they steal his dark blue printing?

The description for the Old Town sounds good, I like the additional details that were revealed.

Yeah, that's... honestly a disservice to what's meant to celebrate the themes early roots

To be honest as a fan of the original Jay ZX... I don't think the new one looks that bad? The gold armor now reads as a separate armor piece from the pauldron (which looks great in silver instead of light grey) but I don't necessarily feel like that's a bad look. The alternating gold and silver armor for the ninja was neat back in 2012, but I think the choice to use gold consistently for them works okay even if it's less authentic.

The new dual molded masks look wonderfully crisp, too—the old printed ones were less precise sometimes and didn't perfectly match the shoulder armor, so I really like this update to them. Maybe if they're used beyond this wave we could even eventually get the blue/silver and black/silver versions anyway.

Not sure if this is exactly the right place to discuss this, but there's been some leaks about the Ninjago x Fortnite crossover that's happening. The funniest part to me is that apparently Zane's design is based on his Prime Empire suit despite the fact that we never actually got that one as a minifigure.

I also find it interesting that they're going to look like real people, not minifigures. Between that and the movie, it's looking to me like Lego might be hoping to expand Ninjago into more of a multimedia franchise than it already is?

There are some low quality images of most of the sets.

I thought that Kai's bike in the Treehouse is going to be in the same scale as his previous one, but it's about the size of the original Blade Cycle. At least the design is a lot diffrent from his previous Bikes, but still the parts from it could have gone to expending the treehouse. The actual Treehouse here doesn't really look like a treehouse, but it still looks really nice from what I'm able to see.

I'm mixed on the Riyu set so far, and I think I'd need better images to fully judge him. For now the head looks too small, and he doesn't look worh $45. But now I can at least say that I really love how he has a sword in his jaw, with that I also would like to see that done with other ninjago characters, as there is a piece for that in the new One Piece sets.  Now this set does hove some really nice minifigures, With it being the only other set to have that Loyalist, and the new Arin. Also this is our first official look at the Green Monster, who now has regular legs, but I feel like that makes the design a lot weirder, and that's a good thing.

It looks like you'd be able to connect the 15th anniversary stands to the Ninjago character display set, so that's neat.

There's also an image of the Kai mech, and it feels perfect for what it is. It would definitely look great alongside Jay and Zane's mechs in this scale. Now it's nice that Kai has the mask piece, as you could make an almost complete dragon Kai, since his wings are the same color as the ones the Dragonians use, that armor piece you can get from any other set, and with that you are only missing the tail.

I'd also say that it's great for Ninjago to be featured in Fortnite, as that shows how big this theme is, but other then that I don't care about this one bit.

Kai's 10€ mech actually looks awesome. I didn't like this year's Zane's one, and Jay's mech from last year was okay at best. This one actually looks awesome, and I like that it's works with Kai's dragon form.

The treehouse (if you can even call it that) looks cool, but I don't like how vehicle-focused the set is. Nearly all of them are already vehicles, so why make the one location set another vehicle?

Riyu looks pretty good, but something seems off about his proportions. I don't like how the head has multiple studs on each side. The minifigures are really cool though.

The anniversary display seems fantastic at first glance. I see it has slots for the anniversary minifigures on each side. I hope you can properly display all seven minifigures in this set alone though, because I don't see a lot of space.

Lloyd's spinner looks cool, I like that they stopped doing those ugly Spinjitzu variants for ninjas.

I also realised that Wyldfyre is completely missing from all the sets. Why is that? I love her, I hate that she's not there, especially since she was so common in this year's sets.

Leaks mostly look good, though I agree with the sentiment that the gold armor on Cole and Jay ZX doesn't look great. I don't really get why they went with all gold, if anything silver would have looked better on Zane and Kai than gold does on Cole and Jay (though ideally they'd just have the correct colors).

Oh wow, Lloyd's mech looks incredible. Haven't picked up a large mech in a while but that might have to change. I like that even though it's a remake of the old one, it still feels substantially different enough that it's worth it if you have the original. Also neat that it comes with an ice samurai, really was expecting that (also the box making it look like he's going to take on that mech alone is comical).

Lloyd’s Titan Mech is unsurprisingly fantastic. The shaping, angles, colours, and overall design are all on point. Can’t wait to display this alongside the Fire Knight Mech.

Weird that they’re revealing a March set before the actual January sets, but I’m sure official images of the remaining Legacy and DR sets aren’t far behind.
