Not impressed with the new city sets

Waiting for Friends sets revealing to see if there is something interesting to add to my city

There's definitely some potential inside this wave. 

As for police, the boat is the best out of the 3 sets coming. 

Tow Truck looks really good, even with another truck included. 

Artic Truck also looks great, bummer that the scenery isn't that sizeable aswell. Both Artic sets are nice. 

Ambulance Plane has everything a passenger plane has, not bad but the price isn't it! 

Bulldozer is not my favourite of the bunch but is a upgrade compared to other dozers we got. 

Train Station is definitely a upgrade in building design compared to 2022's take on a train station. 

Bummer that most buildings this year are part of Marvel and Creator, but with these new pieces we can expect some upgrades to past vehicles and a enhanced passenger jet.

Clearly Johnny Thunder is ziplining in with murderous intent. Destroy the railway infrastructure and protect the wildlife. Pretty cool little back story :)

I can see an articulated dump truck in the future in the style of the Arctic truck

The new sets are kinda okay. I don't hate them, but they certainly leave a lot to be desired. For one thing, I prefer hooks on tow trucks instead of chains. But its a set for kids, so I'm passed it. Currently, I only collect minifigures - because now it's only the minifigures that really interest me.

I do find more than a few of these interesting.

60456 Police Boat? YES. Well, the boat itself, is interesting.

60466 Bulldozer,? Yep, it can keep the 60409 and 60420 company.

60467 Tow Truck? maybe? as a complement to the constructions vehicles.

60470 Explorer Train? Nice set. But what interests me are the foxes and some of the minifigs + that tracked vehicle.

60471 Arctic Truck? YES! And maybe moc a trailer for it?

Of the City sets, the Boat and the trucks, were surprises, for me.

Too soon for rumours?

Both new maps from the arctic sets sit nicely on the 4 maps from recent times (The top right map is being held at an angle so it doesn't line up perfectly here).

The path goes off to the left. Does this mean another map going into the mountains?

They can't just leave it at 7 so I predict there will be another 2 to make a square of 9 maps.

What locations could we see in future?

A savanna? Hopefully some different animals than just lions and elephants again.

You know we do have savannas in Australia...

Nice spot, kinda looks to me like they planned to make two additional maps in the north from the beginning, and  decided to add more when developing the "second wave - at least the maps edges in the south look like they were both designed to look like the ends of the map. Wondering now, if we get another Arctic Set next year, since that would fit better left to the other two - and a smaller Arctic Set would be great anyways.

Ooh nice spot. I’m hoping they visit ‘mountains’ so we get snow leopards, and maybe a wild goat like an ibex, and then down to the grasslands for either giraffe or kangaroo 😂

My only gripe with the animal maps is that I’d have preferred they stayed in one continent, or travelled coherently. But I guess geography works different in Lego

Interesting!!!

What could be west of that fox-land? high mountains with eagles? So far, a flying animal has not been featured.

What could be west of the jungle and plains? Desert?

They also have not featured any deep sea creature. Perhaps the maps will also be extended east, given there is that piece of icy land that can be continued at the top right.

Yes the geography is a bit odd. Going east even more? How will I display such a huge map? :)

I think the top left will be mountains. So what type of sets? Himalayan/Tibet Temple? Yeti? There is that wanted poster...

Under the mountains I guess plains or desert. A quick goog tells me that deserts have foxes of course, meerkats, tortoise, jackal. Would they bring back the camel or ostrich? I have the old ones I should sell now before they come back again.

The sets could include a Moroccan type city. Or Petra. Have to wait and see

Both? Both. Both is good!

Would also be an ideal place to reuse the eagle mould.

Yaks, like donkeys, llamas and camels, would be great - we have so few of the so-called ‘beasts of burden’ in Lego form.

(and those we do have are very Europe/N America biased)

Not what I can see right now. And it is a 2x3 plate.

Each of the wildlife sets came with a unique map - so the sets with the red panda, gorillas, crocodiles, and the tiger.

It does not look like it does at the moment, but if you put it at the lower left hand corner, beside the map with the tiger, it might be the starting point???

I saw someone else say 2 or 4  (can't remember) maps lined up so I had to go buy them. I only found 1 of the maps on pick a brick recently. Within the last month. The other 3 I bought from BL.

Pretty cool less than a month later I see that the 2 new maps line up too. I guess they'll be on pick a brick at some stage.

Maybe there won't be anymore, a total of 6, but I have to factor in the Yeti wanted poster so I assume there will be at least more sets. Therefore possibly more maps. If there is 1 more to the left then surely there has to be a total of 9 to make a square.

I really hope for some kind of ancient mountain building or partial ruins.

Which Lego Adventures themed character hasn't yet re-appeared? 

I saw the 2 x 3 tile too and am a bit confused. I'm ignoring it for now
