More or less a modern Black Falcons set. I agree with this. A single CMF or some Easter Egg references doesn't count as a revival of an old theme or faction. You need minifigures in the context of a playset that could pass as a modernized version of an old set, or something very similar. Quote

GeoBrick Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Then we should await eagerly a M:TRON Magnetizer GWP and Ice Planet Skate Vehicle. Quote

Lyichir Posted May 2 Author Posted May 2 Not a space set but the just revealed Harbor Freight Train in the City theme introduces the 1x6x5 corrugated panel in both white and light bley, which I figured might be of interest to spacers. Could be a nice option for hangar doors or the like. There's also a new set of 2x2 boulder pieces (top and bottom) in City and Friends that could be a fun option for smaller meteorites. It comes in dark tan and trans orange in City, and opalescent trans purple in Friends (a great match for the opalescent trans purple crystals from the recent City space subtheme). Quote
RichardGoring Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Reddit has a rumor of a space themed pinball machine coming in July, which will feature a light blue classic space figure and a light blue space baby. Quote

It's good to hear they are making that one available in its entirety and not making it another fetch quest or keeping the torso locked behind BAM, which isn't readily accessible to everyone. I'm confused why they keep doing blue hues though. It's making the rainbow quite imbalanced! I'd like some more red/orange/yellow adjacent colour (the highlighter yellow or new reddish orange could be snazzy), and would also like a pearl silver to complement the pearl gold, along with a proper light or dark grey one. The torso was already released in BAM and the tanks in the Riviera, so really, they only needed to give us the helmet. I have like 5 of those bright light blue spacemen just waiting for helmets. I don't think that the release of the bright light blue and bright light green were both due to wanting more blues, or greens for that matter. I think Lego was trying to complete the colors of Everybody is Awesome. The previous (regular) green was not the same shade as the bright light green of Everyone is Awesome. I was actually initially disappointed with that torso releasing but in the end, got excited about the potential. I'm totally with you on those other colors. I do think there ought to be Magenta (runner up from the gumball voting?), as well as dark orange (we only currently have tanks). Quote

I know, which is why I'm saying that I'm pleased that they didn't keep it that way as a fetch quest, and are instead apparently releasing the whole figure so people who didn't get the torsos in BAM or the tanks in the set or PaB can get it in one go. That's pro-consumer, as opposed to the way they dripped out the purple and dark blue parts. They also haven't rereleased the regular green torso and tanks, the black torso, or the blue torso with a non-faded logo, all of which I really think they should do. I myself have them, but it'd be nice if everyday people could access them directly from LEGO without having to go to the secondary market. That's a cool theory about them going for all of the colours in Everyone is Awesome though. 57 minutes ago, hikouki said: The previous (regular) green was not the same shade as the bright light green of Everyone is Awesome. I was quick to get some on Bricks and Pieces back then, but I never would've imagined that they'd do a redux of the classic space helmet, nor so many new colours. LEGO has gotten quite different in the past decade though. Quote
Lyichir Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Another random part that could be interesting in Space MOCs... I was scrolling down the list of new June parts on New Elementary and the black 2x2x2 pyramid with yellow triangle print from this Bluey set caught my eye. Before I realized what it was actually from, it looked to me like something that could've come straight out of Blacktron 1! Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted June 9 Posted June 9 I guess this is the most suitable thread for this news? The pinball machine has leaked! Love the colour scheme, the sideart, and of course the new classic spaceman colour! Quote

danth Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Honestly, it looks boring. Here's what comes up in Google if you search for Lego Space pinball: This knockoff set looks more exciting in every way, and is roughly the same price. As a Lego Space fan, the leaked set does nothing for me, other than including minifigs. It looks like it was designed by someone that knows nothing about history of Lego Space. For instance, the prints(?) seem to show the minifig flying through space using his air tanks as a jetpack, which is weird. I would have expected some sort of reference to old themes or sets or something. Quote

Only pint of interest is the light blue CS helmet and maybe the light blue space baby. Hopefully both will appear on PAB at some point. Quote

In fairness I bet a lot of kids who grew up with classic space played with the sets that way as well. Much like the "sensors" on ships that could be interpreted as lasers instead, a lot of details in those days were sort of left up to interpretation. Quote
danth Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I'm sure kids stuck minifigs up their noses too, but I don't want that ret-conned into official lore! 😱 Quote
hikouki Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I really want that classic space helmet and that baby... but not sure picking up this set for those is worth it. They should pop up on PaB, no? Quote
RichardGoring Posted Friday at 01:30 AM Posted Friday at 01:30 AM I would be shocked if they don't release the space figures on PaB. If they did it for the minifigure vending machine, which was created solely for the figures, then they surely have to for these. Quote
Black Falcon Posted Friday at 08:53 PM Posted Friday at 08:53 PM They surely will. Just the baby usually is pretty expensive there. Quote

The ships all have massive holes in them and the helmets don't have visors. If people want to interpret it as a consistent universe with strong lore more power to them but let's not pretend like that was kn any way consistent. Lego comics and games and animations have depicted them flying with the air tanks for decades, they drive their spaceships with steering wheels. This isn't the space theme to worry about this with Quote
danth Posted Sunday at 05:56 AM Posted Sunday at 05:56 AM The point is that the entire set has nothing to do with Lego Space, other than the inclusion of the minifigs. Not the set design or the prints, or the basic knowledge the the air tanks are air tanks. Whimsy is fine. I wish there was even a hint of whimsy in the set. Instead it's boring AF. Quote
