Black chains as well; not sure if a Technic model has ever featured these before. And it even has a load, this time consisting of 2L beams. Cool. Shame we have to wait 'til March, though. Ah well, at least there's the skidsteer. Blue seat means it'll probably be the same scale as 42032 but with wheels this time, so more parts have likely been used for the cab. Wonder what colour the hubs are - white would look good next to 8283! Expand Yes it sounds promising ;) just lets hope they dont include like 100+ beams just to increase the piece counts... and im not a fan of pullbacks but im a fan of monster trucks (especially grave digger) so lets hope they will be 4wd with a 4-link suspension, how cool would that be :D Edited October 6, 2020 by GoldVillage Quote

allanp Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 (edited) The Porsche looks like a good fit for Mindstorms. Glad they are considering it for that theme rather than for Technic. Are the programmable LED lights new, control+ lights? I wonder what they mean by programmable, like, as there appears to be 8 lights, can they programmed to run in a sequence, like for an emergency vehicle, or 4 lights placed in a 2x2 trans yellow round brick to look like a rotating beacon light? And if there are lights, 4 motors and 2 sensors, wouldn't that need 7 ports at least (assuming all 8 lights go to 1 port as I hope is the case)? Also, is this the first time they have presented a set to the fan community and asked basically if we want it? I'm not a fan of self driving cars in any form they come in, but the prospect of new lights sounds promising. Edited October 6, 2020 by allanp Quote

I'm not a fan of self driving cars in any form they come in, but the prospect of new lights sounds promising. Expand There are a lot of details that don't make sense if we think about it, I think they just threw a few random parts and text on the box to look like something related to Mindstorms. The page says "color sensor" at the lights and also "distance sensors" and "x4 angular motors". Now the Spike Prime / Mindstorms color sensor does emit light, but it is a total waste of resources putting them behind a car light, as it cannot be used as a sensor there. Also "distance sensors" would mean there's at least 2 of them. That already becomes too much, as even one color sensor + 2 distance sensors + 4 motors are too much for the 6 ports of the Mindstorms hub. About the motors, why would it need 4 of them? What about steering? It actually makes much more sense to add 2 XL motors and one angular or L motor for steering. Quote
