City/Normal animals: - recoloured white pigeon, recoloured tan dog with coastguard vest, new European robin and nuthatch printed small birds, and a plain white butterfly Friendsified animals: - new axolotls, new frog, new sitting bunny, and a new ‘banana pose’ seal (and a bunch of recolours / prints for existing animals) DreamZZZ - new fantasy treasure creature in four transparent colours Harry Potter - existing wolf, cat, otter in plain trans blue colour as ‘patronuses’ is that it? Only Dreamzzz and Friends get new moulds? I was very confused looking at this in light mode with white text and not being able to see anything! Quote

Haha, I thought at first he posted a video and it wasn´t loading. Anyways, HP is trans light satin but aside from that I guess the list should be correct for now, but there are still so many sets for next year there will for sure be more. Quote
williejm Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 Oh I see it now. Or rather I don’t. Still, top secret and only for those in the know 😜 I posted it to the wrong thread initially and then cut and pasted it here, so it must have been a glitch with that. Quote
Roebuck Posted December 8, 2025 Author Posted December 8, 2025 Apperently the Black parrot is a stand in for a Falcon in the big Ninjago set. Ninjago is really the worst theme when it comes to animal moulds They used the parrot for stand in in the -90 when we did not have anything else, now we have a Falcon after all Quote

That parrot mold is not that exciting to me. I agree - Ninjago Thelma is not a best one for animal molds other than cool weapons and armors. Quote
Roebuck Posted December 9, 2025 Author Posted December 9, 2025 Seems like there is 1 black parrot as mentioned and quite a few black frogs in the big Ninjago set, I can not see anything else on that picture at least.. It being Ninjago we should not expect much anyway in regards to animals.. I assume we must hope for spring sets to give us something, but not sure they will leak before new years Quote
jonwil Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Getting the frog in black for the first time would be cool (any new colors of frog are always cool) Quote
RichardGoring Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Pretty disappointing to call that a falcon. Even more disappointing that they didn't take the opportunity to update the parrot mould. Quote

I don’t think black frogs are that exciting as it doesn’t exist in real life? Quote

There are a few species of black frogs out there. The most popular would probably be the Black Rain Frog, simply because Rain Frogs do the round on the internet now and then because of their silly little faces. And if you add toads into the mix (and thanks to the Harry Potter theme we know Lego does) then you’ve got even more options like the Pebble Toad, which featured on an episode of BBC’s Life series years ago. Ah ok. Initially, I was unimpressed with this black frogs piece while thinking it’s not existing in our real world. I only think that those black frogs would be useful for iron-wrought metalwork in Lego world. But, prior to the status of losing my vision, I don’t recall seeing anytime like plainly black frogs in our real world. I know pebble frogs are fairly dark similar to colors of pebbles, such as dark gray. But not black rain frog itself. Quote

I got it from PaB months ago, though I'm not sure which set it was in first. Black frogs look cute, though, even though I really don't like the frog mold. Quote

I feel ya - I don’t like that frog mold as well. Although, Lego loves using that frog molds for other purposes. For example, pink frogs for bonsai set, white frogs for Chinese lion dance set, etc. as I mentioned above, I think black frogs would be useful for iron wrought builds. Anyways, I wish Lego would introduce a new frog mold in a near future. Quote

Although I recognize that the current approach gives a cheap animal that can be included more easily in more sets. Quote

Well quite. It's why I'd really like a modern style parrot, fish, and crab. They're very common, but really stand out against other animals. Frogs are so small that they don't bother me as much being in the old style. Quote
hikouki Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 I don't mind the cutesy Friends animals for the likes of Disney but I would really prefer Lego System style animals as standard animal types. Quote

Yeah, same. Minifigures are blocky (and we like 'em that way, they're distinctive and iconic!), their animals should be comparably blocky. Quote
lifeinplastic Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 I think the current fish and crab are fine for now. I’ve been in Alsace this week and although the storks appear to have flown South for winter, walking around the rivers and lake areas made me realise that, now we have pigeons, a proper swan should be the next (non-Friends) Lego bird priority. Well, obviously System style animals are the best. But I have a feeling in 50 years or so, Friends may completely replace System - at least on non-licensed themes. Luckily I won't be around to see that Quote
