Ngoc Nguyen Posted January 15 Posted January 15 (edited) Hi everyone, this is something messy, exciting, and also worrying at the same time from RacingBrick Edited January 15 by Ngoc Nguyen Quote
msk6003 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Science new parts The part sizes are estimates. I didn't have time to measure them. 3.5x16 rack gear plate - dark purple and LBG 16x16 curved rack gear plate - white only 4x4x2 rack gear guide and gear mount - TR.clear only 2.5 and 1.5 2 stage pulley - black only (Last new release of any kind of pulley part which is not wheel is 1993 with micromotor pulley) Technic brick 2x4 with 4 pinhole and 2 fixed friction pin - white only Technic brick 6x5x1 with 4x4 cutout and 9 pinhole ㄷ shape - white only Plate 1x4x2/3 with 1x2 cutout - coral only Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted January 15 Posted January 15 (edited) Curved gear rack with this orientation of teeth? Sounds like some unorthodox (and unorthogonal) teeth geometries were used to make it work. The train will then need precise positioning while going on that curve, which will probably add some stress and friction... Looking forward to see how the gear wheels meshes with it under different conditions and loads. Edited January 15 by HorcikDesigns Quote
Johnny1360 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Those new track pieces are larger than I had originally thought, thanks for the pictures. I wonder if that curve is the same as train track? Looks like excellent monorail track. Quote
pleegwat Posted January 17 Posted January 17 If I remember correctly train track has a 40 stud radius, which is significantly more than the 15 or 16 stud radius of this curved gear rack. Quote

msk6003 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I didn't know at first, but one of my coworkers told me that this was also a new part. I thought it was a 39367 wheel. But no. That is 7L diameter but this one is 8L. Quote

I couldn't find a wheel like that in Bricklink or Rebrickable as it's definitely not 39367pb02 or 49295pb02. Quote

Of course you can't find it on bricklink or rebrickable because set itself is not released yet. Just revealed lot of picture. https://www.lego.com/en-gb/aboutus/news/2026/january/lego-education-cs-ai Edited January 21 by msk6003 Quote

tseary Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I like the look of those gear tracks as a miniature successor to monorail! Although I hope they come out with a wheeled base as an alternative to the sliding carriage shown here, it's not so suitable for trains of any scale without that. Quote

I did for the rollercoaster track pieces Quote
