Concept: Weight transferring Vehicle

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow builders,

I've been working on a concept, and i think it works. This system could be very usefull in truck trailling. It requiers another channel, but it can be a fun addition to use with obstacles.

That site of yours, legotechniccreations.com, will sooner or later get a message from the nice lawyers of Lego, asking you to stop using their brand in your URL.

That is a porblem all of us Truck trialers face, where to position the motors and battery boxes. I like your solution, it would be helpful in operating a wheeled truck too. I might have to give this a try  .

Good idea:) I would like to see it used in a motor-on axle trial trick, so you can have enough room on the chassis to do this. Maybe add a 2nd remote & channel so you can multitask? Good luck on the development of this design...

The idea is nice, but the implementation is tricky. It raises the complexity level and it's difficult to conceal in the body, so from my practical observations, you're better off developing a properly stable truck.

Also, Mahjqa is right about your website and LEGO lawyers, so you may want to think twice about putting its address permanently into your videos, while the address itself can prove to be temporary.

I'll change the adress soon.

You can also modify the body for this, by not filling the cabin with interior parts, you can move the batterybox in and out of the cabin. It doesn't quite look like a truck then, but when it raises it's trialling abilities, I would be more than satisfied.

@88high , I've never built a trial truck before, and I'm not planning on buying the parts for a trail truck. I'm not going to develop this any further soon. I just wanted to post this to help some truck triallers, and I hope see it used in a trial truck in the future.

Interesting solution to the problems encountered with weight distribution when scaling obstacles... Could also be done in a more simple fashion by by having a chassis with a neutral centre of gravity with a travelling ballast weight, negating the drivetrain problems the system currently generates... Perhaps using the battery box as the weight?..
