@ Audosoft: Welcome to Eurobricks! :classic: I pressed the UK flag at the top-right corner of your website to read the English narrative of your software (P.S. When one places the mouse over that flag, it mistakenly says "French").

I looked at the "CGV" (software license agreement) page, and pressing the UK flag does not translate it into English. I used Google Translate to do this for me, by copying the French text reading the English translation side-by-side. Recommend that you enable an English translation of the license agreement automatically.

Your introductory, special offer to purchase the unlimited version of your software (for $37 during the month of July 2011, instead of the regular $45) seems OK for a product of this quality. However....

I downloaded your free (4,000-part) version to see how it works. Before I installed the 58.6-MB executible file, my Norton 360 antivirus software automatically scanned the file, and indicated this alert:

"Very Few Users -- Fewer than 5 users in the Norton community have used this file. The file risk is medium. Threat type -- Insight Network Threat. There are many indications that this file is untrustworthy and therefore not safe." Norton 360 subsequently removed my .EXE download file to protect my computer. :sceptic:

Hello,

Thank you for your interest.

Then, I'm surprised that Norton tell that. I contact us immediately ! Note : I use BitDefender IS and all it's ok ! My software is 100% sure, you can test it with other antivirus ;)

I'll translate all I miss this week ;)

Hi there

I welcome you to present your software at Eurobricks, but next time please contact a moderator first - specially since you are a commercial company.

Having said that, your SW looks interesting. A question directly pops into mind - what is the difference between this and Brickset.com?

Hi,

Excuse me to not have contact moderator first, but my software has Free and Commercial version ;)

For the difference, I'm not user of Brickset.com but I invite you to test AudoBrick and you can discover the functions for free.

For antivirus problem, a new version was released this week with Code signing Certificates to authenticate and securise my software ;)

In any case, it is a good habit in a forum to inform the staff before publicize a product.

It is an act of courtesy and avoid that the post is considered spam.

However, at a first look, it seems to be a good software.

If I can suggest some idea, here is someone:

- Retrieve ldr files from lugnet in order to make easy for cad users to import the pieces they need (usable with mlcad, sr3dbuilder, etc...)

- Being a commercial software, it has to offer some exclusive feature and something more than services such as Brickset, that are free, accessible from any machine and any system with a web browser.

- Make the software "portable", so that user can bring their database with themselves and use it in every machine, even offline.

- A good addition would be ensure the software is compatible with wine for linux/macOS (obviously a native version should be better, but it requires much more efforts). This can widen the target market of the product, and last but not least, making the software usable without compromises (some people could think: "why use this software if I can't use it on all my machines or in the computer of my girlfriend? ").

- Make a full-usable free version. What I mean is that a version with an incomplete database is useful for evaluation only, but not for use. A version with the complete database but without some cool feature would be much more useful instead. The goal is to attract a wide community of free users, that could help with the development of the software (sending you entries for new set released bu TLG, make translations in many languages, creating skins, making simple script with useful functionalities (addons), etc...)

and that's all... for the moment!

Thanks for ideas ;)

The free version is with complete database, only advanced features are disabled or limited. ;)

In few weeks, I'll look for linux/macOs versions ;) There is also a mobile version in developpement, on demands of users.

In the complete version, AudoBrick can be use offline.

Import files in differents formats come in few days with the MOC function.

@ Audosoft: Once again we ask, how is your software different/better than the free Brickset online inventory system?

"Keep track of your LEGO collection at Brickset!

Brickset makes it easy to keep track of your LEGO collection and the sets you want. Simply search the site in the normal way then use the tick-boxes in the results list to mark sets as owned or wanted. You can now also record how many of each set you own, too!

If you have your collection recorded at Lugnet you can import it to Brickset and start enjoying our enhanced features in no time at all.

You can also send your collection to Peeron to get an inventory of the parts you own.

To record and view your collection you must first log in. If you haven't already registered, register now -- it's free and easy!"

The first advanced function is to list the feasible sets that you can make with your stock, respect or not colors, with tolerance and give you estimated price to complete the set and edit Wanted-list.

This is why I create AudoBrick at first time.

Normally, I create AudoBrick for my personal use, to have into one software the sets, parts, inventories, instructions etc... I chose to broadcast it because persons asked to me for it.

I have already visited BrickSet and I never found function who tell me the sets than I can make with my parts

After, if you prefer Brickset, it's your choice, I'm only here to present my software for those who like it... ;)

In France, AudoBrick has higher success, only 2 weeks after release and I would share this with other countries, simply...

The 4000 pieces limit in the evaluation version is a bit annoying. I actually wanted to test the function that allows you to see what are the feasable sets with your brick collection (mine is not that big but is +45000 bricks). And its not possible with the limit.

Another point, I think $37 is too expensive with Brickset being free.

And I think it's good that you share it  I think the question asked was more to help understand the key benefits of the software that are not available in Brickset.

And you do have a good point that Brickset doesn't allow you to manage/analyze your brick collection, either based on sets you own, or on loose bricks. The only one I know that does the latter is Brickstore, but I'm not sure it's supported anymore.

Anyway, I have another question - where does the data come from that goes into AudoBrick?

Hi,

The data come partially from Bricklink, as they are in free download.

I've tested Brickstore and there's not same function as AudoBrick.

I put some effort into AudoBrick last night and I think it's going in the direction I, personally, need it to. I would like to recommend that MOC's be allowed to be added to "My Stock". Also, after using the MOC menu and creating a new MOC, by importing a BtickLink xml file, then closing the software for the night when I reopened AudoBrick the MOC wasn't in the MOC tab in My Stock. - That's a lot of MOC's.

I'm running a windows 7 SP1 box with AudoBrick v1.5.3.6 - Demo.

It's crashed a few times on me when I have gone "click" happy while it was still working, specifically while AudoBrick was loading Linked Parts in My Stock and I clicked on the MOC tab.

I'd be willing to pay for this software if there were more portions translated into English though I just used Google Translate on the site and it sufficed.

Thanks for this software it's progressing nicely and will be a great asset soon.

Hello I think this is nice but it has some problems, it kept crashing for me alot during the updates.

The price is much too expensive, $0.99 to $4.99 I might think about buying. (Yes based on apps)

The demo version needs a higher brick limit like 50,000-100,000. To try out some of the advanced features.

That is all for now, it is very unstable and I am having trouble with it. :classic:

I received an update when starting AudoBrick this morning (1.5.4.6). Was wondering if there was a change log for this somewhere?
