KimT Posted November 7, 2005 I've just bought the new Civ4 and I am rather puzzled. The new look of the game and the big changes makes it rather confusing to play. - It can just be me |:| I've always been a great fan and I loved Civ3 and it's extensions. I feel a bit like when I bought Alpha Centauri and Alien X-fire. Puzzled, frustrated and damn close to throwing it in the trash can >:( Perhaps it'll get better when I've been playing it a few times. [it worked with SMAC/-AX] If any of you have tried it please add/comment your tricks or ideas :) KimT
languages Posted November 7, 2005 Ive never heard about this game....whats it about?
KimT Posted November 7, 2005 Basically it's about building a civilization from 4000BC and to 2100AD. You start with no knowledge of weaponry, governemt, farming and so on. Then as you develop new technologies you gain skills for example irrigation of fields or iron making alowing swordsmen and so forth. Take C&C or Total War and multiply it by 100 then You have Civilization. It's a turn based game adapted from a regular board strategy game back in the late 80's early 90's. It's hard to describe the game closer. Try it or visit www.civ3.com or www.civ4.com to find out more. :) KimT
DoubleT Posted November 7, 2005 Im a great Civ fan.. But i have problem with the graphics.... The game contiue to crash...
KimT Posted November 7, 2005 Ahh yes the new performance demands. My computer can barely keep up with the game - but it (the game) has an auto feature - it resets the settings to fit the computer, unless the game by no means can adjust - which seems to be you rproblem TT. Only one solution read the performance demands and upgrade your computer to fit the game. Yes it can be very expensive to play Civilization ;) KimT

KimT Posted November 14, 2005 Never mind if it works or not >:( - I've stopped playing it and have decided to stick with Civ3Conquests - which I find is much much much much better and more true to the original Civilization board game. |:| KimT
