YellowCorvette Posted July 25, 2016 Anyone is watching the Freemakers Adventures TV series? After watching the series, I kinda like the design of the StarScavenger in the show. Unfortunetly TLG's representation of the ship kinda failed to did the real thing justice. 75147 is way too small and the set is too flimsy to been played with. So now, I started to build the StarScavenger in LDD, but larger. I started with the cockpit: Building a bigger StarScavenger by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr Building a bigger StarScavenger by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr The original set has a 6 stud wide cockpit (4 stud wide for the cockpit interior), and my version has a 8 stud wide cockpit (6 stud wide for the cockpit interior). Any suggestion?
Lamborghini Waffle Sauce Posted July 25, 2016 I love this idea! So far, so good. Keep it up, I can't wait to see the rest!
Aland1916 Posted July 25, 2016 I think you have the right windshield.
Kim-Kwang-Seok Posted July 25, 2016 Good choice for the windshield With the limited parts & time of mine I'd also try to "just make it a bit bigger". Especially the rear-part could give much more space if moded. I'd suggest to get rid of the tecnic structure on the sides, that creats the "square" cockpit and limits both space and playability. the technic holes on the sides don't really serve any purpose, since the plates on each side can still be attached. Maybe you could let 2 figs sit next to each other, instead of just behind. I'm looking forward to see where this will go. Love cargo ship-mocs.
Green Rhubarb Posted July 25, 2016 Looking forward to see it whole!
YellowCorvette Posted July 27, 2016 Thanks for the comments, very appreciate it! The Technic structure of the side of the cockpit is only for temporary connection to the side bridges of the cockpit. here's the newest progress by far: Building a larger StarScavenger by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr The side bridges is now connected to the cockpit, and this isn't the final version. I plan to shaping the side bridges first and slowly make it smoother after i finish the general shaping of the ship.
YellowCorvette Posted July 28, 2016 Now the front section is almost completed! There's 2 different versions of the front cockpit section. StarScavenger (Bigger) Completed front (Ver 2) by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr The version at the above is the first version. The side guns has a spring-loaded shooter intergrated and a narrower cockpit space. The side bridges section is a little bit rough. StarScavenger (Bigger) Completed front (Ver 2) by Armstrong X-Wing, on Flickr Now this is the second version. The side guns looks more accurate to the real ship but no play features intergrated, the side bridge sections is smoother and the cockpit space is wider. Which one looks better and any suggestion? fatum Posted July 28, 2016 I like the second version better. It looks more streamlined.
khatmorg Posted July 28, 2016 Now the front section is almost completed! There's 2 different versions of the front cockpit section. Which one looks better and any suggestion? The third option, with a turret! I think your version looks a bit too flat on top and also needs a more pronounced "brow".
Kim-Kwang-Seok Posted July 28, 2016 Version 2 is much smoother & less studier & messier. Plus the guns should be parallel I think. They seem a bit thick though - but you could always use somethink thiner later. The structure looks fine. I'm very excited for the cargo hold... Hope you'll get some interior into it!
