DkGreen Shunter 7w. Design has borrowed some genes from a BR Class 04 locomotive, but mostly what I found pleasing for the eye. It has a DkRed chassis with 3axles where the mid axle is floating to ensure a frictionless ride. Base 7w / Cab 6 2/3w / Hood 5wide, and L=18studs. So overall dimensions are similar to a 4563 loco. It is not powered and for the moment I think I leave it like that. Motorisation may be put in a following wagon (?). More pictures may be found in my Flickr account.

(apologies for any mistakes made in posting) A Lego diesel-electric shunting engine, based on the BR 08 class. Although I'm not a huge fan of non-steam locomotives, this brick-on-wheels is an exception. I love 'em. I'm happy with how this one turned out, especially since it presented several challenges - the detailing on its side being one of them - and an area in which I sadly failed is its hazard stripes. I like to try and limit myself to official Lego bricks and stickers but I might have to admit defeat and print out a custom sheet. Its rear end looks oddly bare when it ought to be covered in hazards.

I have been in a building mood lately and have noticed a few people saying they would like to MOC but don't know where to start (and don't want to mix up the bricks from their sets). The solution to both problems is with the old 'alternate builds' from the 80s:) This great photo is by Flickr user Zoltán Becsei I'm not the first see an opportunity to make a 7760 style shunter using 60052 parts. There is also a particularly excellent one by reinstein here: https://flic.kr/p/9KrZRe but as far as I can tell no one has made a PF shunter only using the parts found in the blue diesel. So, I'm throwing out the challenge, can you make a PF shunter using only the parts found in the blue diesel? This took me about two hours to do and was much cheaper than going to the pub for my Saturday afternoon:) To help people who would like to get into MOCing I have uploaded the in-progress photos of my build into Flickr so you can see the silly mistakes I made and the things that just didn't work along the way. This is my favourite diesel shunter, and I've built it several times.... I present now my latest attempt and it is 8wide in base with a body in various widths from 5-7studs and with lots of 1/2 plate offset to replicate the interesting shape of the original engine. As always it is nice to hear what you trainheads think about it.

The awesome tank engine Dutchiedoughnut is assembling inspired me to get stuck into my next project. I destroyed my new dark blue Creator Jet but used the wonderful parts to put together my first Saddle Tank 0-4-0 shunter. Lights by Canvas Rails, on Flickr The Details: Freelance design, there is no DB prototype as far as I am aware (The DB doors were the last ones I had) 6 wide chassis, 7 wide at the saddle tank. The colour in the first photo is closest to how it looks in real life. Does anyone have any suggestions for photographing dark blue? I am considering Bricklinking some more 1x1 dark blue bricks for the cab but then again the black is a nice contrast and is growing on me. I would be most interested in your thoughts. Cheers, Rob -
Hey Guys here is my work in progress Of a Shunter. It may look complete but it is not as I need your help to give suggestions on what to add! Thanks Guys -RailCo P.S. I know the buffers are grey but I do not have any black cow catcher buffers, and also just realized i forgot hand rails on the cab so that why it's a WIP . EDIT: I would really enjoy your help. I have added windows which makes it look 10 times better. This is my first ever MOC of a shunter so any suggestions are welcome!
