This build is for Challenge 5 - The Space Olympic Games (Category E) Since this was my first attempt at an Olympic venue, I wanted to include the AG Olympic Rings. This event is Zero -Gravity table tennis it is played with two tables (one on the "floor" and one on the "ceiling". The table tennis paddle is now a handle and a ring with a force field for the hitting surface. This particular round of competition is Dr. Steven Quin Livingston (in the black with blue gloves) representing Kawashita vs. Peter Davids (in the grey and green) representing Mantis. Additional images can be found here. Comments and criticism are welcome.

"Certainly, if I can just get through all these dirty cloths." "Don't be a Mega Blok, I'm usually away." "I have WAY too much to do this week to care Captain." "Oh no, that's cool, drink the whole bricking bottle." Captain Mesabi Muttered. "Like I said. Don't have time to care." "Anyways, I'm here to tell you that you have a new mission. You need to recover the samples that the Rogue ALIEN members are weaponizing. They are currently enabling the virus to transfer to humans, they want to use it to kill off the corporations so they can reign over the Galaxy again. We need to preserve Corporation power. We found Andromeda, so it's ours now." "I'll need a ship." "Right, if you'll follow me." "And wear your space helmet." "Why?" "Your hairpiece is a nightmare. Anyways, Deck 12A" "It's an old bomber, so they won't detect you when you attack. It's a 2 seater, so you can only bring one of your crew. You have an hour to prepare." "Yes Sir!" "Yes," replied Valentine. "I'm finishing up some tests on our new Kawacycle. I'll get one of my scientists on it while I finish up." Meanwhile, Octan decided they didn't like Graver stealing their ships, so they sent a couple Galaxy class cruises against him. Graver, surrender your vessel. Now why would I do that when I have my killing robot? You will die in pain. AAAAAHHHHhhhh... glurg... glurg...

Location: C09 Orinshi Tags: Vehicle, Land Vehicle, Exploration Last time, in Ender's story: Bike Beats Robots Sunday Afternoon Drive Suess Island Tribble Island Kawacycle As the great, great, great grandson of Satoshi Tajiri was one of the founding members of Kawashita, they now owned the rights to the Pokemon mega-franchise. With one of it's off-shoots, Monsters of Andromeda, being played by people from all 3 corporations right now, the franchise was booming more than ever. In honor of it's origins, Kawashita had built a Kanto Park on Orinshi. In this park players could come and live out the original Pokemon adventure. They could explore, in person, everywhere from the Viridian Forest to the Safari Zone. All of the monsters were mechanical creatures created using nano-technology which allowed them to actaully be shrunk down into a Pokeball when caught. One of the extra additions the park designers added was jet-powered bicycles. Because, who really wants to physically bike all the way to Indigo Plateau? Ender had some vacation time after spending weeks exploring the Sorn islands, so he decided to take a trip to the Kanto Park. He had just received the Super-Rod and was passing a pool so he decided to try it out. . . . . . A Pokemon's on the hook! A Blastoise! What luck! If he caught this Pokemon, maybe Professor Oak would finally stop telling him to try to round out his Pokedex by catching water-type Pokemon. Meanwhile, in Valetine's lab... "Help me!" cried the scientist. "This Tribble isn't a plant, it's a quick breeding, furry animal!"

My next entry into the Space Olympic Games, for the Boat category: The Awkward Turtle Designed to allow the driver to see what's under him in the water, this unique boat provides great visibility in all directions for enhanced tactical planning during a race. It barely fits within 10x20, but it does fit.

Mt. Takei Orinshi - 3186 Tags: Special Operations "I'm assuming you got my message." "Yes, I'm nearly at the location now. I forgot how humid it is on Orinshi." "You have to adopt the local fashion, Brik. Silk is very breathable. Helps with the humidity." "I'm not really big on silk clothes, Raven. Just... not my style." "Ha. To be honest, I never liked silk clothes either." "So you're sure about this? The Asset has been out of play for months now. What if he's not up to it any more?" "Trust me. I know him personally and I'm pretty sure I know exactly how he's going to react when he sees you." "Really. How?" "Just don't make any sudden moves and you should be okay." "Uhhh... should I have brought a security detail?" "I'm kidding. He's a teacher, now. He's not gone feral. I think." "Well... I'll report back when I've spoken with the Asset." "Stop calling him 'The Asset', Brik. He has a name." Mt. Takei was once the heart of the original Orinshi colony. Many of its banners and decor still featured the original symbol of the Kawashita Group. The Takei Dojo had been on the mountain since the earliest days of that first colony, and the old traditions died hard there. Brik had occasionally wondered where the Asset had been sent after the events in the Hamilton Belt almost a year ago. He had heard rumors about training facilities on secret moons, or deep below the ocean of that watery world he could never remember the name of. He never expected Raven to send the Asset here, hidden in plain sight from all the enemies he had made in Andromeda. When he entered the dojo, there was a brother and sister training in kendo gear. Brik wasn't much of a traditionalist, but he had to admire the aesthetics of the room, their armor, and the poise with which they trained. The brother did not seem impressed to see him. He looked down at Brik's shoes and said nothing. The sister was more friendly. She seemed to know exactly why he was there. She pointed him off to an exit that led behind the dojo, along a carefully tended garden path. Koro was meditating in the gardens when Brik came looking for him. More accurately, when Raven sent Brik looking for him. It had taken awhile for the resentment and boredom to subside, but now he was getting used to Mt. Takei, his students, and the long slow days of quiet contemplation. Sometimes he wondered if perhaps Raven had not been right about the Commodore. He stayed away from the news networks and all his old contacts in Special Operations had long ago gone silent. Now he hardly knew what was happening out there in the galaxy. "Uh. Hi there, Koro." "Great. I was just ascertaining the meaning of life." "We've never met before, but I've heard a lot about you. Your file is as thick as my thigh." "What do you want? Does she know you're here?" "Actually, she's why I'm here. Raven was targeted in a bombing--" "Whoa. She's not..." "No, no. She's alive. She barely made it." "And let me guess... now she needs me back?" "Something like that. Not everyone knows she's still alive. We're waiting until the time is right, but before she steps back out of the shadow, we need to track down the people responsible." "That was going to be my next question: who had the stones to try and erase Raven?" "We thought it was a guy called 'SpacerSteve' but now we're not so sure." "Affiliation?" "M.A.N.T.I.S." "Assassinating another corporation's leader seems like too bold a move, even for them." "That's what Raven said. We don't know how deep this goes. That's where you come in." "Okay." "Okay? That's all?" "What were you expecting me to do -- ask for a raise?" Sometime later, Brik had gone and Koro was alone again in the garden. He thought about the way his life was now, the idyllic peace he'd resisted for so long had finally started to seep in and just like that... it was over. Now it was back to the swordplay, the close calls, getting his arms ripped off, and so on. He felt... excited. Ready. Meanwhile, Brik reported back to Raven... "I have to admit, I expected more of a fuss." "Nah. For all his faults, he's a pretty loyal guy." "You say that, but he's only been in exile all this time because of disloyalty." "Here's the thing: he's stayed in exile this past year. He went into exile willingly when I ordered it. Would you have done that quietly? I wouldn't have." "I see your point, but how do we encourage him to follow orders without his usual... creativity?" "Don't worry about that part. I can handle Koro. Once he makes contact, I'll get him set up and ready to go." "I hope you know what you're doing, Raven." "Time will tell." *** END Builder's Notes: Koro is back! I hope I can build more often now than I did last year. I've missed the Lego! Thanks for looking and, as always, there are a few extra pics on my Flickr.

Mission: Entrapment Tags: Kawashita, Exploration, Sorn Under direct orders from Raven I have arranged a meetup with Spacer Steve on Sorn. I used a Blacktron code and ID to entice him to a meeting in the swamps under the guise of selling Kawashita secrets. Little did he know I had other plans. After a lengthy "conversation" with a pair of Kawashita swords near his neck Spacer Steve convinced me that he has nothing to do with Ravens death. The ruse is still working about her being still dead. He still refers to her in past tense and has explained in detail how the explosion occurred and how he was not the fig spotted on security cameras. I should kill him now, but my training is kicking in, and I know in my heart he is not the guilty one. He could have rambled on and explained who it was and he was never there but he has explained he knows but cannot say at this time because it could hurt his corporations standing. I believe he wants help, but not officially. I will have to trust he is telling the truth, and believe he will lead me to those responsible.

Agent Lotus arrived at the Space Olympic Games, just as the gates were opening for the Mech Wrestling event, The next competitor on the screen was entered by the Kawashita group. "Might as well take a look and see what my team have come up with, and lend some support." As he walked down the hallway to the area floor, he saw the mech on a monitor, zoomed in on its head unit. The machine let out a deep, guttural yell. "Oooooooooh Yeeeeeeaaaahh!" By the time Agent Lotus got into the arena proper and found a seat, it was spinning around, one hand pointed into the air. The powerful looking mech was flamboyantly decorated, and its movements matched its aesthetic. "I'm gonna turn my opponent into bricks and pieces. Bricks and pieces, brother." The mech growled. As it flexed its metal muscles and talked, its eyes lit up a glowing red. as if possessed by madness. "I have the power of the clutch, oh yeah. And no mech can stop me." The slow deliberate bass tone of its voice paused after every sentence, as if allowing the gravity of the situation to enter into its opponent's mind. Finally it still, arms outstretched and its massive hands ready to rip and tear any opposition apart. "Are you ready? Macho Mech is READY!" "Oh yeah, dig it!" It screamed the last line and stood poised to take on anything.

Updated! Last time, in Ender's story: Bike Beats Robots Sunday Afternoon Drive Suess Island Tribble Island Kawacycle Kanto Park After defeating the final four, Ender was back from vacation. He decided to modify one of the mechanical monsters he had caught in Kanto Park to be able to enter the Space Olympics. He had to remove the Hydro-Cannons from his Blastoise, but it was no less formidable an opponent in the mech contest. As you can see, it fits well within the size limit:

Col. Brik, you're GARC is ready to go, Sir. We used the usual 'old school' style building you so enjoy. We hope it can compete with the newer style builds produced by the other competitors.

It has been a (scandalously) long time since I found some spare time to build for Andromeda's Gates, the sci-fi rpg over on Eurobricks, but with this GARC I managed to hop back in. GARC: Galactic Asteroid Rally Circuit racers These are basically microbuild spaceships made to zoom around asteroids, and they are part of the Challenge 5, category C. The rules mention the vessel must count 12x12 studs maximum excluding exhaust fumes etc, which I managed to the final stud in length (see the bottom picture). The Ice Runner is the latest Kawashita racer, and sports the icy logo of Von Geekington's love for ice mining. Long and sleek, she is mostly geared towards straight line speed, sacrificing manoeuvrability instead. Sporting quad awesomnium impulse engines, the lady is ready to compete for gold in the AG Olympics! And the requested twelve stud measurement
-
My entry into the 3rd sporting event: The Red Scarab! I didn't take a picture of it fitting within a 12x12 frame, but it does. You can count the studs for the top of the build and see that there are 10 studs used for the body plus the 1.2ish for the cheese slope cockpit. The wings aren't wider than the body is long so it's good there too. And trails don't count, right?

The Chūrippu 502 is the hottest rod of the whole Kawashita GARC fleet. It is sponsored by Zumbi Media, Stark Industries, and a range of other Kawashita-affiliated corporations, laboratories, and organizations. The Chūrippu 502 was designed by Dr. Asuka Ross and her husband Malachi Ross, both based on Mars. The design was perfected in Mars orbit, put through its paces in every major GARC qualification track in Sol System. Though it may seem weird that a GARC cruiser be named after a flower as common as the red tulip, the Hanakotoba associates this flower with fame and charity, representing the values of its designers and all of us here at Kawashita. Any proceeds from sponsorship deals or GARC prize monies will be donated to Andromedan amputees to cover the costs of both rehabilitation and top-of-the-line Kawashita prostheses. Some additional views of the craft: And of course, the proofing shots required by Andromeda GARC authorities to make sure craft like the Chūrippu 502 are regulation sized ans spec: Builder's Notes: -This is my first ever GARC and it was tons of fun to make. The platform that the build is set on is 12x12 studs, which should be easily apparent from the top-down view. -If you look carefully, you'll notice that the "SF" racing sticker on the right side of the ship is cut up into 3 pieces. I did that on purpose and really like the effect. It was fun to play with stickers, which is usually something I don't mess around with. I'd really like to get some custom stickers! -Thanks for looking!

Agent Lotus got the mission in the early hours of the morning. Simple infiltration job. With the Space Olympic Games Land Race event starting soon he had to make sure this went to plan. It was easy enough to find the speeder, and its pilot never expected an attack. He'd wake up with a heck of a headache by the end of the day, plenty of time to use his credentials and enter the race.

EDIT: I changed locations to Sorn Guinevere and added some more relevant tags, as per EpsilonEta's request. Changed some of the write-up too to reflect that. Kawashita Industrial Spaceport Guinevere - 3186 Tags: Special Operations, Land Vehicle, Space Vehicle "But you know I work alone." "I know you like to work alone, Koro. And I even know that putting you with someone is no guarantee you're going to behave. I know that from experience." "Then why saddle me with a partner? Seems illogical." "Because we need you and it's worth hedging my bets that having someone around will keep you in line. So just do me a favor and skip the part where you whine about it." "All right, all right. By the way, I'm glad you're not dead." "You and me both. Go meet your new friend. Run along now." When Koro got to the launchpad, the ship and his new partner were already waiting for him. Kawashita Operators tended to use industrial ports for their comings and goings on various planets, including Guinevere. This kept nosy folks away from details about their movements and allowed a certain amount of privacy and discretion for meetings like this one. Even low-ranking KG employees like dock workers knew better than to get too close to people like Koro. They loaded crates and drove awesomnium around and generally tried to mind their own business. "Agent Koro, welcome to the Hikosake. One of the fastest ships in Andromeda." "Not very discrete though." "She's got a few tricks up her sleeve. I've taken the liberty of bringing down some of your gear. It was sent over from the Section headquarters." "That's my stuff in those locked crates? What's the password?" "Raven said I don't have to tell you unless you're nice to me. Are you going to be nice to me, Agent Koro?" "If you stop calling me "Agent" it'll be a start. What do I call you?" "My name's Blue." "Real original." "I'm typically unique." "Well what's your story? Did they partner you up with me just to fly me around?" "I have... other skills too." "Like?" "Let's just say they picked me because I'm going to make your job easier." "Aren't you supposed to be my babysitter?" "That too, Agent Koro." "Just Koro." "Right. Let's hop in the ship and we'll talk some more." "Just as long as you know I didn't ask for this. I work alone." "Don't we all." Koro had to admit that the Hikosake was pretty sweet. While Blue launched them out of Orinshi's gravity well, he busied himself checking systems and finding out what he'd missed while he'd been in exile. The newsnets were full of interesting tidbits. He had a lot of catching up to do... Bonus pics in the spoiler:

OoC: This is a re-make of an old vehicle. I changed the colors and design slightly. I believe the changes are enough to warrant me counting this as a "new" vehicle but I wanted to be up front about it.

Some times you have to actually make profit for your company. This week Col. Brik is visiting a vehicle assembly plant at a city on Sorn. If you forget making the money to keep the corp alive you cannot extract revenge. Sorn seems to be a constant location for profit for Kawashita. The production has slowed in recent weeks as all the top executives have focused on the attempted assasination of Raven. Things seem to be running smoothly, scab labor at minimum wage is maximizing profits. End "Yes, this build is in my normal city display, after finishing it a week ago I set it up and didn't want to try and move it out of the spot I put it in."
