  1. 26) Diver, Pharaoh & Fisherman Entry (Build by Rolli) 3 points Well done to all contestants and thanks to the staff for this great contest!
  2. 7) Pilot Entry (Build by Dan Church) 3 points Well done to all contestants.
  3. Here comes the pacman container... (I can't believe how long it took to build this!) Good luck to all!
  4. Hi, I wrote/built a small comic strip story to accompany a contest entry on FBTB. This is my first try at Lego-storytelling... please tell me what you think. The full story can be found on my Flickr
  5. or maybe "The Quest for the lost Ninja-Pharaoh of Atlantis"
  6. Since I did not know what "Mayhem" meant.. I looked it up... Per Wikipedia... In modern times the word "mayhem" is often used to mean "havoc and disorder". Hum... so; we've got: - the 3 themes - Minifig bases - a reference to some kind of trouble, destruction, fight? Some kind of cross theme fighting challenge?
  7. Thanks for the contest!
  8. * Darwin revisited * Minifigs: Gorilla, Caveman & Disco Dude My interpretation of Evolution! A picture featuring the Gorilla MF can be seen here *edit* I just found the 1x1 red tile I was missing, so I took another picture!
  9. Category C is getting better each day... what a bunch of weirdos! cimddwc - I love your Master M, Dreamweb - your zoophile makes me laugh so much each time I look at his face! (never thought I'd ever say something like that!) White Fang, just a thought, presenting 4 good figs is really difficult, wouldn't it be easier to limit the contest to 2 figs/participant? I'm sure each participant must have his/her own favourites amongst his/her 4... and IMO it would make the voting part easier.
  10. I've been trough all the participants stories, it feels like I've been reading a secret volume of Harry Potter. Seriously, there are some people here how should consider writing fan fics or they own stories! Anyway, since I need to choose: Geertos13 - 1pt (Great story! And nice extra shots on Flickr) Kcir - 1pt (Took me a while to figure out the scale of the build, this is brilliant!) Skalldyr - (I want this fig!)
  11. Thank you Hinckley for organizing this contest it was great fun. My votes are: cara 1pt (for the playability combined with a great design) eti 1pt (love the atmosphere, clever use of the microfigs) jalkow 1pt (for being able to capture magic with Lego bricks) lisqr 1 pt (just an amazing build!) maegnus 1pt (stunning overal look) I also wish I had more points to give! I encourage the people who are voting to really take the time to appreciate all these great entries, they sure deserve more than 1 quick look at one picture to be judged. There are some amazing building techniques to discover, incredible details but for some also very unexpected play functions (isn't that right Jalkow?!) Best of luck to all!
  12. My entries are up in Cat A & C (I'll try to post better pics of my depraved figs later because competition is very tough)... I did not see Category C coming, but it was a fun challlenge! Funny also to see how many entries have already been done there... I would not dare to conclude that this community is a made of repressed psychos ... but it is definitely strange! (Good call from the mods on that matter, things were starting to go sideways and your clarifications were needed)
  13. Minifig: Snowboarder Theme: Half-pipe! A simple entry but I think it does the job quite well. I had this ready for a few days already... I had a feeling this contest was about to be launched! The small edge on top of the half-pipe allows to place a MF in a great position, but I'm not sure I can post here a picture with a non-Serie 3 MF placeholder... so I encourage you to check it here in my Brickshelf! Good luck to all with the contest! (And thank you White Fang for once again organizing this!)
  14. Rule from Category A state "No placeholder minifigure (Series 3) can be used to reflect the actual position in the entry." Does that mean we can use a MF not from Serie 3 as place holder?
  15. Thank you all for your nice comments! Thanks for noticing! I actually made the visitor boat in yellow just to include the Legoland brick! a complete and functional POTC ride? wow, good luck with your project! When I started this MOC I quickly realized that the scale of the visitor boat would define the rest, how large will be yours? I did not do it for 2 reasosn - first I don't have any blue tiles or transparent chees slopes and second the original POTC ride is actually very dark and the water appears just black...
  16. ok, thx!
  17. Really good build, and your pictures are awesome, the light is very nice... it indeed feels like being in a dream. Just 1 question, what are supposed to be the 3 pieces behind the figs?
  18. Unless you have been living in a tree for the past few months you probably all know that 2011 is going to be a Pirate Lego year… more precisely a Caribbean Pirate year ! In the same spirit that lead me in building a MOC on the filming set of “A New hope”, I have decided to pay a tribute to the origins of the POTC saga… My dear fellow EB members, I present you my diorama of the Disney POTC ride! The dio features several of the iconic scenes from the ride…starting with the sale of the women… (one of these ladies seems to be strangely enjoying the situation…) On the other side we can see the famous well scene. Please note that I have used a floor technique that was – I think – developed here It is a very useful technique when dealing with rounded floor shapes and it gives an great irregular look. Another view Now the bridge (I'm really happy with this one!) … The other side… where we can see a young lady running to save her… innocence! … and 2 pirates loading a boat with their loot Now a close-up of the visitor’s boat And an overall view. Finally a couple of reference pics Future will tell us if the new POTC license lives up to the fan’s expectations… in the meantime I hope you’ve liked this MOC, thanks for watching! (Oh, and if you have enjoyed this you might also like my Harry Potter MOC for the winter break contest, check it out here!)
  19. My guess is the "classic" 8x8 vignette contest (a concept that is great because within the reach of all builders) + another one... but probably something that will take us all by surprise! I found the mystery hunt fun at first but way too time consuming... so I'll probably pass on that one if it happens again. Ever since I saw the first pics of serie 3 I started thinking about vignette ideas (and I already built a few...) Are you waiting for HP month to be over before announcing anything?
  20. The footsteps in the snow is a really nice touch, the statue is good too... well done!
  21. Haha, thanks for your comment! You know, it's ugly on purpose! The movie is'nt that great in describing it but the book clearly describes the place as one you would'nt want to find yourself into!
  22. Good job! There is only 1 detail that bothers me a little, it's the grey technic parts that are visible on the side of the center roof part, these do not match the color coding, maybe there is a way to have these hidden? (just my opinion, your MOC is really good already as it is!)
  23. Thank you all for your great comments! I have added in the first post a link to a and a link to my brickshelf for additional views.
  24. Very cool, I was wondering when I would see a Lego dice incorporated in a MOC, clever use!
  25. Great idea and an ambitious project! I like how you have incorporated a play feature in your creation - very much in the HP/Lego spirit! I'm afraid the brick count limit is going to be an issue for you at some point considering that you are not making 1 house but 3... anyway it's a really good job already! ... I wonder how you are going to manage the roof!
