I be in need o' ye pirate sails. Any sail set would do, save for any with pictures on it (no skulls an' crossbones!) Caribbean Clipper, BSB, heck, even the $+ Juniors sails, probably. Any, any any set! Preferably with stripes (any colour). Here's the WIP Ship, just for checking this thread out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sirnadroj/2903061467/ Thanks for your help in advance ~ I need this soon! I'll buy em' or trade em'.

I have to agree with Intact. The details are great, as are the techniques, but I think you tried to include too much in a small space. The front it a little too flat and the back is a tad bit awkward, IMHO. The middle is good, though. It would look nice with the official Raiders Staff Car... I like how you can fit things in the trunk, but I think it needs just a little revising. Hope this helps. I'm not trying to shamlessly self-advertise here ( ) but check out the overall shape of my original jeep: Notice how it's a little more curvacious. But it's a good start!

"Gimme all yer loot!" With Brickarms. That's about it, I suppose. Thanks.

Got my 2x quick, easy and painless. Thanks for posting the info here! -
Some of the best? Really? Thanks. I asked if other scales can be used (I think I said Fabuland/Miniland type figures) and the staff said OK, so I guess they're fine. Thanks! I've been having such terrible builder's block (no pun intended) lately, but I think I've got a cool idea that will fit in well with the overall concept of pirate animals running a-muck. I like the dog and the monkey best, personally.

I love all his work. The skull makes this, in my opinon. Though I do think the MOC is called "Cranium Crag" (that's what he calls it on Flickr, anyway.)
-
Thanks for the feedback. Gotta make some scale buildings now. I'm having a hard time finding good reference, though.

Thanks for the feedback. The point of the Skunk's white fur patterns was to have the criss-cross white elastic on the front look like both military straps (I'm not pirate jargon saavy ) and look like stripes. Skunk's patterns sometimes vary; I've seen a brown skunk before! I didn't want to go overkill with elastics, but I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the tips!

Arrrr... what be that foul stench? Why, an imperial soldier Skunk, of course! Never seen it... thanks for the links.
-
Thanks. I don't plan on any minifigs in my entry anyway; gotta do something different. Making a Skunk now.
-
Yep, you're right. Thanks for the tips. I'd love a Phoenix (Japanese Imperial Chicken; kept by royalty, I think.)

Ok guys, please let's stick to the topic at hand; I don't really like the way this is going. Thanks! Can't wait to see! I'm here... trying to think of another character to make.
-
Thanks. Here be a Sheep (Governor). Lots of great opportunities here, from the white brimmed hat to the puffy collar:
-
Here be a turtle.

One very stylized monkey: Pretty poseable. The Panda's head, arms and both legs move, the dog's head, flexible arms, and legs, Octopus' head and 8 legs, and the monkey's head, flexible arms and legs. Hmmm... a snake. :pir-skull: On your last line, I've seen some guy on TV who had scales tatooed all over his body, and had his teeth filed to a point to look like a lizard.

Funny this topic surfaces. I'm trying to get my hands on some chickens; unfortunately the companies' minimum orders are 25. Anyone know of a hatchery with low minimum orders?
-
Turtle, that's a good one! Perhaps a frog, too. I'll admit; I don't like video games, but a lot of inspiration for the final MOC is initially coming from Jolly Roger's Lagoon from Banjo-Tooie. (Do a couple youtube searches for reference). The overall concept, anyway. For civilians, I'm thinking animals that one would find in an actual pirate/port village. Pigs, chickens obviously...
-
If you say so. Any other animal ideas? I'm thinking a skunk, of course, but I'll also need civilian animals...
-
Or any other Disney animal, too, right? The dog has pants on; I guess I dould have given him a shirt, but I only had flex tubing in brown, so that wouldn't have worked. I didn't have any wheels in black, so the brown can be considered a belt. Yeah, I'd consider clothing part of anthromorphism. These aren't final, though. I need to make at least another four different animals, so any plausable suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks for ye feedback. Thanks ~ I'm surprised! You of all people I'd think would eat this stuff up! Yup, it be a panda. :pir-skull: Very piratey, I know. The red/white striped pants, vest and red cloth. Here be another one: Dog (I think) and Octopus And if you read my comments in the PTV Contest Thread, you can probably see where I'm going with these. More to follow.

That was just an example; I've got something better in store. -
A scurvy seabear! Not much else to say... thanks!

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
SirNadroj replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Sounds like fun! Question: Minifigures/scale required or can we build with miniland scale/fabuland scale, or a cross-breed figure. :pir-skull: When I first learned of this contest of epic proportions, I had a neat and unique idea, but it won't be minifig scale. Is that ok? -
What happens when hysteria ensues. Thanks.

Why don't we open a thread asking why Galidor is stupid? Or Duplo? Znap while we're at it. I'm honestly surprised this thread is still open. People liking or disliking something is a matter of personal preference, so who really cares what other people think? Bashing a theme and calling it "retarded" is both rude, blunt and "retarded" in and of itself. It seems like the majority of people like it; the ressurection of this theme by AFOL MOCs is probably attributed to the nostalgic qualities the theme has for some people. They remember growing up with it as children, and they want to share it with a younger generation. Be appreciative Fabuland is the bandwagon and not Galidor.
