Either one of those new swords can compare with the old and hard dark grey swords of the 80's and early 90's. Those were the days... having purchased my first sets from this millenium yesterday, I was really dissapointed with the weapons - and the swords in particular.

I got this set yesterday as I had been keen on getting a wizard ever since I first saw one. But while the colourscheme surely is more impressive, I think I'd rather have had the old blue wizard with the crystal ball and white owl... a green dragon is nice enough, but the plastic for it feels a bit cheap-ish. And the wand is a bit dull. And I'm not sure what to make of the potions, why are the tops a different colour than the rest...? But the figure itself is pretty good, apart from no printing on the torso.

For any possible Danes on this board, I can report that Bilka currently has 25 % of *all* LEGO - including newish themes like Kingdoms and Prince of Persia, and still having lots of Pirates and other stuff in stock as well.

Very hard to choose with so many good entries. I have picked 3, but it was really hard... could easily have picked 10. 1 point: 3. DanMov 1 point: 6. Killagorilla 1 point: 7. Burman Although the latest entry to the vote is great as well, I'm sticking with my previous 3. :)

1 point: JimButcher 1 point: Fugazi 1 point: Jammiedodger714 I voted for the ones I felt best kept the spirit of the original set, although the competition had tons of impressive MOCs.

New factions would you like to see for the Kingdoms line?
Hive replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Forestmen all the way. They would add a nice variety while adding a third knight faction would seem rather pointless, as it would just be more of the same. If they want to do something completely new, they could add some Barbary-ish pirates as a faction (which could at the same time perhaps also appease the fans of the Pirate theme, who now lack new sets). I always felt the Castle themes could use some more ships, anyway. -
I don't normally care much for hockey, but being a Dane I must admit that my interest has increased lately...

6087 - Witch's Magic Manor new in box. Nothing beats a brand new vintage LEGO set, even though it's not exactly one of the best sets ever made... but I got it at a fair price.

+1 to supersympa, who was pleasant to deal with. :) -
The sets have been sold now. :)

Here's some pics for those requesting that:

I don't have a price set in stone, I just want a fair price. The sets are NIB, after all. I was just aiming for people to make an offer and take it from there, but I suppose I could think up a price if that would be preferable.
-
I bought a lot of 3 NIB vintage LEGO sets about a month ago, 2 of which were Pirates. I have after some serious deliberation, however, decided that I cannot afford to collect 2 themes at this point (at least not NIB). And with Pirates being only second choice (Castle being #1), I therefore wish to sell my 2 newly aquired Pirates sets. The two sets in question are: 6257 - Castaway's Raft (picture from Peeron) and 6260 - Shipwreck Island (picture from Peeron) As mentioned, both sets are new in box. The boxes are not in mint condition, and appear to be slightly battered... but being 20 years old small sets, I think they're in relatively good condition. The important part is that they are 100 % sealed from factory. I'm currently only interested in a sale, not a trade. I'm located in Denmark but will ship anywhere, provided that buyer is willing to pay the expenses. I'd prefer to sell them together (only because it would be easier for me), but I'm willing to sell them individually if needed be. Write here or PM me if you are interested/have questions.
-
I'm not sure whether this has been mentioned or not, but since I have so far heard a July/August release date for this new line I just wanted to tell you guys that I found a Danish webstore that sells the sets from May 28 and onwards.

This is definately one of the most impressive LEGO creations I have seen. I especially like how you incorporated minifigs and other elements from lots of different themes, crossover potential always excites me.
-
Very impressive. Quite stunning.

While I don't own any of them, from what I've seen they look pretty good. While there's no really big forts to compare to the classic Imperial Trading Post and Eldorado Fortress, several of the small to medium sets were improved versions of classic sets imo. And they fit together with the old sets nicely, something few other themes these day does.

Pretty impressive. Even moreso because I notice you have done it without the added universe parts. -
That's a pretty cool competition with pretty cool prizes. Who's sponsoring those prizes, if I may ask?
-
Some of those sets look pretty damn good, apart from the weird giant missiles they seem to stick with most of them... fun to see a theme different from LEGO's instead of just copying them directly. However, looking at the pricing it doesn't seem significantly cheaper than LEGO... which makes it less interesting.

The new sets look more like the good old classic sets than any Castle set for many years, but I still find them slightly inferior to the classic sets. The mini-figures look really good, though.
