  1. You STILL ignore the fact that so few people are able to get the comic. Since 2001, the internet has been the most accessible medium since it wasn't limited to any country; just because a few people here and there didn't have it (and my deepest sympathies to those, really) doesn't make it any less usable. I still stand by the notion that if LEGO wants the story to reach as many people as possible, online material is the most ideal solution. Some people will find 2007 disgusting, some people will find it fabulous. Same with 2001. Objectively, no year is good or bad unless you talk about sales. There is no set answer as to what's a better story or set line -- we are all different. ;-) (I'm not X-D ) -Ikk
  2. At least we get a lot of masks in sets next year -- so far, every set has one. *sweet* -Ikk
  3. ... what do you mean? Last mask packs were six years ago when the Nuva were out last. Things have changed -- did you expect them to pop up again just because of the Nuva? :-P -Ikk
  4. Keep it up guys. :-D Just missed this one point I had to address... That's a pretty amusing quote, too, because you've left out one tiny li'l thing... what about the people who can't get the comics? Only the US, Canada, UK, and a few other European countries regularly receive the comic, and it's certainly not free everywhere. Furthermore, some countries stopped receiving them in '05. The internet, however, is universal and largely free, and independant of any country. Given that, it seems rather ignorant to say comics are the most ideal way to go -- in fact, if Lego wanted the story to get out to as many people as possible, online stuff would be the best method. ;-) -Ikk
  5. Wrong, sorry. ;-) To me, 2001 IS the best year, because it appeals the most to my tastes. No way to get around that. Why can't you say the new style is better than the old one? I know tons of fans who think the actual Inika style is better than the Mata one, and they're fully entitled to those preferences. Again, there is no universal answer. But importance of those things are taste-based. Guess what? I prefer gears to posability! Call it strange, but I do. Preference's at it again, y'see. :-) To me, Bionicle has gone in the 'wrong' direction (subjectively, not objectively), and I found 2001 by far the best year ever. 's simple as that, really! *sweet* -Ikk
  6. :-D Sorry, but it just seems a bit hilarious to see you guys go all the way and create long, almost defensive posts about which year of Bionicle was the best. They are well argued points, sure, but you write like you need to convince each other that either 2001 or 2007 was the greatest year, all while being oblivious to the truth: That it is all a matter of preference which year was best or worst! Some like one thing, some like other stuff. Call me bonesiii, but that's how it works, and there is no need for ridiculous remarks like "2007 is the best BIONICLE year ever! How could you even consider 2001?" No one takes that stuff serious. :-P So just enjoy whatever year you liked best, and don't spend as much energy as I once did ranting about bad years. X-D That said, it's great points that's been brought up, but they just aren't universal. EDIT: "One cannot rightly say that the Inika STYLE is better than the Mata STYLE. But one CAN rightly say that the Inika are better than the Mata." <----- Just another example of what I'm talking about. Sorry, but those lines just cracked me up. You're saying it like one is factually better than the other. :-D -Ikk
  7. Sounds like Pirates of the Caribbean now. :-P I guess you could either smash the skellie to tiny bits or destroy the magic that keeps them walking... but what do I know! I'm not even certain if I posted here yet, but I'm going for orcs for the MiniFig-sized ones, even though it's taken right out of Tolkien. But then again, so is most fantasy of this kind. *sweet* If it was folklore-based instead (now THAT would be great!), trolls would fit better. -Ikk
  8. Stylized Hauish mask. Darkened colors. Epic look. :-P -Ikk
  9. The latter. And I laugh at the idea of having them resemble the 2002 Nuva being a bad idea. Why, then, I must ask, will making them almost exact copies of the Inika & Mahri help any? :-| Look at Jaller Mahri. Some nice, general resemblance to his 2001 form. Guess what? People loved him! It is possible to please practically everybody, only LEGO does not care. -Ikk
  10. That's it. That is the utmost betrayal by LEGO. Despicable. -Ikk
  11. DV does win. X-D One thing I hoped to do with the double-joints was recoloring the Metru and/or rebuilding the Hagah. For that purpose, the new ones will look out of place when displayed alongside Toa with older double-joints, unless LEGO starts making the new ones in all sorta colors. Oh well. I still love the Matoran. *wub* -Ikk
  12. I doubt that very much. Why would they make complex CGI pictures of prototypes, and why would they make a new mold in the first place? I'll bet a lot these are final. -Ikk
  13. Yes and bley is exactly the same as grey just a little bluer! :-P It's a big enough difference to give an inconsistency in any set/MOC, alas. -Ikk
  14. It's hard to see on Toa Ignika, but I'm hoping for orange, we need more of that! Some nice Halloween pieces that'd give! And has yellorange really been here long enough for you to call it 'regular'? :-D -Ikk
  15. I *think* Toa Ignika has orange double-thingies, while Vamprah has black ones. Or so it looks. *wacko* On a side note, I really, really love the Matoran's masks, as well as the Ignika! Great ones! *moves over to Castle forum for better stuff* -Ikk
  16. Ikky. :-D And they changed the double socket joint thingies as well. They FINALLY make those danged things in black and orange and then they CHANGE THE MOLD. I just can't believe this. :'-( -Ikk
  17. It's the same problem there is with bley/grey and rewn/brown. Using both in the same creation just doesn't look pretty. -Ikk
  18. It's the inconsistency. It seems to be LEGO's new trademark. *wacko* EDIT: Yay... Citizen. :-P -Ikk
  19. ... They DID change the socket joint thingy. That's just.. no. No, no, no, no. What the HECK are they thinking?! I like the Matoran, the Nuva are somewhat nice... don't care much for the rest. Socket joint thingies. :'-( Does LEGO hate MOCers or something? -Ikk
  20. BOY does that look astonishingly gorgeous! *sweet* There are so many gems in this set, even leaving out the puns, that I can get neither my mind nor eyes off it. Awesome to see all the non-chrome metal colors! And the figs! Great wobblin' goblins, fairly all right troll... and the dwarves are nigh perfect! I wish the beards would be a bit more compatible with other headgear -- I especially planned to use them for gnomes and vikings... but still not bad at all. And a darker brown. And shortlegs galore. :'-) Though TLC's goodies fall short of the review itself. :-D Brilliant photography, and brilliant pics. This has officially made my day! *wub* Thank ye, Jack! That is, until I drink my brain into unconciousness later tonight... then tomorrow I'll have forgotten all this and will be awestruck once more! X-D -Ikk
  21. Because - a) it has no guns b) it is too complicated c) it lacks funky colors It would never sell. :-D -Ikk
  22. Well, if you can't post 'em, add me t' th' list, matey! Thanks! :'-) -Ikk
  23. And earlier he said it was due to raw strength. *wacko* Can he at least be consistent? :-P But yeah, seeing both our Ol' Makuta and the new one as $40+ sets would be suh-weet. *sweet* And if this will indeed be the culminating year of Bionicle as we know it, the odds of there being a Mata Nui set just went up by several notches! -Ikk
  24. I'll trust you on that, then! :-P Still could be an error... but I'm interested in seeing the outcome! We'll get minimum one Brotherhood Member set next year, but I was kinda hoping for that to be a Titan or one of the huge $40+ sets. -Ikk
  25. More powerful than the Hagah, actually, too. ;-) But if they have trouble defeating one Makuta, how could they hope to stand up against six? Sounds to me more like the catalog was wrong, and that they are servants... but hey, y'never know. I just don't see how the Nuva would even have the slightest of chances! -Ikk
