Bionicle 2009 Images and Discussion
Ikki o' Moopyville replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I kinda liked Klakk -- it had that odd touch to it while still keeping the Bionicle trandition of -ak based names. Teridax was a good name, I think -- but it does simply not convey the character of the Makuta. Sauron... Morgoth... Makuta... Teridax? I think it would have made a fairly good name for another Makuta or Rahi/character, though Taërokha or something would have worked. Even Führak as Kraggh suggested on BZP. -Ikk -

Bink thought of two names: Thornax and Skirmix. Surprisingly, it's the only two names whose roots are obvious and who are Teridax-level stupid. No offense, Bink, but PLEASE do not make any more official names! -Ikk -

Thanks a ton, mate! Even with the cracking of rocks, it sounds awesome. Perfect music for Mata Nui Rising. -Ikk -

Mata Nui died -- when Matoro revived him, Makuta possessed his body before before MN could -- when the Nuva awoke MN, it was with the Makuta in his mind. The Great Spirit Makuta then banished Mata Nui's soul into the Ignika, and both from the Matoran world... after which the Ignika winds up on Bara Magna. -Ikk -

Depends on where The Makuta will be heading, since he is the Great Spirit now. He may go to Bara Magna eventually and meet up with Mata Nui, but for now, only MN goes there. -Ikk -

Ah, but there's no one there to see him -- all beings on the Endless Ocean Planet is inside Mata Nui as he rises. EDIT: Huh, slow. xD -Ikk -

http://www.bzpower.com/kelly/matanuirobot.jpg This video ROCKS. It even beats the leaked version. Officially, I think the Bohrok were planned to cleanse the island to the point where Mata Nui's face became visible... but this way nicely confirms that he is indeed, and has always been, the Matoran Cosmos. Leigh's version is fail compared to this. Thank you, Ghost. Thank you! EDIT: AHAHA. Aravagantos does STILL not believe this theory! -Ikk -

My pic is more aesthetic. What I really want to see if is Mata Nui breaks the surface of the island, or we see it all covered in growth in one shot, then barren the next. Of course, actually SHOWING the Bohrok cleansing his face would be the best thing ever, but I doubt it. -Ikk -

Timezones is no problem... Bink is in Denmark, and has to manually update the site. Meaning the video will probably out in the early morning, American time. This is the epicness we've been waiting for since a canister watched up on a strange beach. So, prepare your for the un much expected, as the most hidden mask of all will fall... And all the pieces of the Bionicle mystery will beat the crap out of Aravagantos! -Ikk -

... 2009 takes place in the present. So Taka will certainly still exist -- indeed, Greg has plans for him that go beyond this year -- but Mata Nui will be the sole familiar character on that world. And yes, Aravagantos is ridiculous. Please spam him with links to the animation once it's up. XD -Ikk -

Good point. Their repetitive grasping at straws regarding Mata Nui NOT being the universe is fun to watch, too. -Ikk -

Well, it's not an actual underworld, but the name may still have some meaning... Underworld would be the opposite of Paradise, from where Mata Nui descended onto the EOP. Maybe a clue to the change of things since his departure? -Ikk -

I would trust a Nazi history teacher sooner than I would trust BZP. The majority of the actual translations of Bara are words related to underworld. -Ikk -

Well, that would be why Mata Nui does not look like the summer set of him will -- obviously he has a crucial role to play in 2009 and the promotion team knew that, and thus designed this discovery poster. They just didn't know what he'd actually look like in summer. -Ikk -

I still hold the opinion that all Bionicle vehicles should resemble creatures of some kind. =P This thing is excrutiatingly dull compared to the loads of Bara Magna stuff we've had thrown at us lately. -Ikk -

The majority of the translations of words similar to 'bara'... says underworld. Or it could be similar to the word 'bar', and we'd be set on one of the 'bars' / crescents of The Map. Not a bar as in get-drunk-and-wasted, mind you. -Ikk -

Holy WIN. Most likely thing that picture symbolizes is Toa Mata Nui looking upon the remnants of his own creation. How very eerie... and how totally wicked cool. Bug makes me happy. =D -Ikk
