  1. The zoo keeper resembles strikingly of this Duplo minifigure:
  2. Great MOC! Also, nice job on making the first few photos look so 'innocent'. The cave came quite unexpected.
  3. All I ever forgot was related to orders shipped but not yet arrived. Apparently the 'I wanted to order' and 'I ordered' boxes are close to each other in my brain or something. Once the stuff is in my hand, it's no problem anymore, I manage to remember those better. Luckily, I only have dupes of small, cheap items, and only a handful, so it's not like with madoka.
  4. Do you have a Brickshelf account? If not, you should register there first ( http://www.brickshelf.com/ ). Then you can upload pictures there and link them here.
  5. I like how most of the crusaders have a beard or moustache. It was pretty usual in that era. Good job in that department as well.
  6. Some 15 years have passed since the last set with 3 horses. Let alone 4. Hmh. The waiting continues, I guess...
  7. I've just realized that the antenna/flagpole has a flat top! This was news to me. Admittedly, it's not much of a change, but it's always nice to have new pieces. Here it is on bricklink, only in white yet (from other sets), but that is sure to change soon: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3957b
  8. I would like to ask for a face decal for a standard yellow head; it is supposed to be a blind female elf shaman. Basically a female face with her eyes covered by a sand green ribbon. Ears are not necessary. Here is the original that I would like to depict in Lego: Gilt-Leaf Seer Thanks in advance!
  9. It's more like... $.10 per piece is good value, but not all sets are created equal. Arguably the mill is still worth its price tag for all the new civilian figures, new animals and accessories.
  10. Stocked up on 7949's in a recent clearance sale for 50% off! Cool. I plan to pick up about 8 orcs to go with my elves, but after that, I will slow down for a while.
  11. Look closely again at Grogall's pics. The upper part is also 8-stud wide. It looks quite tall as well, so it's probably not going to fit.
  12. Sure, it makes sense. For $16, it was a great deal, and for $24, still good, but no need to go over the top. I'd say buying 3 more was fine. Don't let the numbers mislead you; don't buy something only because it is cheap, buy it if you need the parts. While that 2300 might look good on paper, in reality, you are only likely to use about half of that amount, or even less. That said, it's still a good deal. Also, make sure to sell the other special parts (apart from the minifigs), like the blue key or the gold treasure chest. Even $1 or just $0.50 counts when you are trying to make money back.
  13. Yeah, the names are often quite similar, that's why I prefer to use set numbers. 7949 is indeed very good for minifigs, I plan to pick up a few more tomorrow. (Now that my team of Elves is finally complete, it's back to Kingdoms. Phew!)
  14. Indeed. Good catch.
  15. You're talking about Prison Carriage Rescue, right?
  16. In the blacksmith set, it connects the water plate to the base of the house.
  17. Thanks a lot!
  18. I guess it makes sense to say that with the new sets (plus the advent calendar) civilians became a prominent 'faction'.
  19. A bit late, but... Happy Valentine's Day! Vignette by Scorpicore. (Picture is clicky. )
  20. The carriage set looks like a good candidate for splitting. The tree offers a lot of reddish brown & green parts that are usually expensive but certainly useful. I, for example, would use them to build a forest home for elves. And if you split the trees+carriage like $15+25 (or maybe $20+20), prices are suddenly much friendlier. Just my two cents.
  21. Isn't it more like $10-20-40-70?
  22. Funny. I personally like last wave's 10 dollar set more. I prefer the extra minifig and horse to the non-figure parts. Each to his own, I guess.
  23. That's a very valid point, my lady. However, I'm also on a budget. Like, on a very strict one. So I need to look for value for money as well, and I expect more from a $10 set. Maybe it's just me. Who knows, maybe I will come to like it eventually...
  24. They are from Brickforge. http://www.brickforge.com/store/home.php?cat=331 http://www.brickforge.com/store/home.php?cat=344 They produce custom minifig accessories (mostly weapons) for Lego. Technically, it's not Lego, but it's from the same material and good quality.
