  1. Brain teaser Lego version of the popular six piece Burr 3D cross puzzle. The six pieces were done similar to the existing designs but using the 2:5 stud/plate ratio. It's not entirely perfectly fitting in the middle as there are little half-plate gaps, but it still works and can be solved the same way as the wooden version of the toy. Making toys out of another toy seems kinda redundant and another addition to the office desk toys... AC
  2. The concept/design is pretty simple and can be applied with X-Wing/TIE Fighter, Speeders, Falcon/TIE Bomber and so on... The base have to be heavy to withstand the spinning motion. Very possible but I'd leave that to others to experiment on. AC PS. Added the video on YouTube.
  3. Obi-Wan's Jedi starfighter chases Jango's Slave I across the asteroid fields. Still pursuing ideas/concepts/designs similar to previous desk toys. This time it's a mobile balancing toy that would usually have an airplane on one end and a ball on the other end. Putting in a new spin to an old concept and incorporating some iconic Star Wars ships in the mix! AC Click on the pic which will take you to the Flickr page to see it in motion... Just added the video on YouTube
  4. It's a shame that the balls are too light to generate enough force/momentum like the metal balls. However they can sort of generate swinging motion with a little coaxing that can last for less than a minute at most. It still makes a neat little desk toy by itself and should make a good conversation piece since who'd think it's all made of Lego... AC Click on the pic which will bring you to the Flickr video to see it in motion.
  5. Tried to use the minifigs first but they looked tiny/out-of-scale with the pull toy. Good thing that I've just recently parted out several Hulk Buster sets. AC
  6. At BrickFair Virginia, Joe Meno brought his Pluto pull toy and while talking how it came about, he was surprised that nobody else has done something like it in Lego. Then I told him that I had a much simpler/different pull toy in mind that I've wanted to build. Now that the event hangover has subsided, I've given it much thought last night and an hour later, here's the end result... AC
  7. The expanded edition of Akai Shiro Castlegrounds with Samurai weapons and accessories provided in collaboration with BrickWarriors at BrickFair Virginia. AC
  8. This has gone too far!
  9. You might have missed the boat on some of them as I don't plan on bringing all of them next year (if work schedule permits). AC

    Farewell

It's actually my first BrickFair Va though I've tried for the past four years but couldn't get off work. Tried to get to meet in person all the AFOLs I've known through the years and most of them came to my display area. Where do you come from as BrickFair NJ is coming up next in October and I'll be there. AC

    Farewell

Finally met KimT in person at BrickFair Va this past weekend and the rest of TLG team. AC
  12. Some pics from my layout
  13. Done this more than ten years ago and just secured them with technic pins in between. AC
  14. Thanks and updated the throne. AC
  15. These were supposed to be out for September release but due to the unexpected sell out of the Disney series, the stores were shipped/permitted to sell them earlier. A reversal of fortunes of sorts since other retail stores still have Disney series and none have the series 16 around here. AC
  16. Thanks and getting the tail posed in a natural manner actually took a bit of trial and error. AC
  17. The 1x2 green curved slopes look much better than the usual slopes (30, 45 degrees) but a little more parts intensive since you'll need a lot of green plates to go with them. Just took one trip to the Lego store and they had just opened three cases to put in the bin. AC
  18. Sworn to allegiance and secrecy of the fraternity, nobody knows when or how but when the call for the gathering comes, they will arrive...
  19. Never mind...
  20. Even the Lego stores were practically giving away all the polybags at some point without a purchase. AC
  21. Previously had it with the trans black windshield and remembered that printed piece which really works well with the black/yellow color scheme. AC
  22. Thanks all and this was inspired by the Manta Ray with the mace for a killer tail. AC
