Beautiful work, attention to detail is outstanding all round.
  2. This was from Brickvention 2011, Melbourne Australia. http://www.brickventures.com/ Dr Rod
  3. David thought it had 15000+ parts, 200+ hours of work from memory. He is planning on taking some better pics in more of a "studio" setting soon. Check his Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mr_offset/ Dr Rod
  4. Thanks for all the comments guys!! The saloon, bank, church and blacksmith all have detailed interiors. The saloon was displayed with two walls and half the roof removed so people could see the "action" inside. The mud was a moment of inspiration and worked well indeed. Cheers, Dr Rod
  5. Here is another angle:
  6. Hiya Western Fans, The SydLUG collaborative western build "El Bricko" won the people's choice award at Brickvention 2011. Here are a couple of shots from my Flickr stream: Saloon: Whole Layout: Some other photos in the Brickvention 2011 Set on my Flickr stream: Dr Rod (Intrastella)
  7. The bandits with the detonator on the dynamite is a nice touch, and saloon is great!
  8. Just finished building 4504, got to say it is a nice compromise between size and functionality. Nice to be able to fit minifigs inside but doesn't need a large space to display. Will probably mod it in a few months when i get bored with the standard kit.
  9. Well, we don't need Lego to release more western sets, we just need to make more western MOCs!! I've been on a tan bricklink buying spree lately and currently planning a collaborative large (6x12) western display for early 2011, but you'll have to be in Australia to see it (in person at least)... Planning the mocs now and will put on my Flickr page (and Lego Old West group) and Eurobricks as I make them. DrRod aka Intrastella :)
  10. Hi All, Thought I might start a thread about my pirate ship MOC, "Death's Breath" (named after my ancient cat :)) Was made hastily for the SydLUG display at BrickExpo held last weekend in Canberra, Australia. Interior is not yet completed but will be in a couple of weeks. The island in the background on the left is also mine and you can see Captain Zuloo's Grandeur there as well (plus an imperial flagship, Brickbeard's bounty and Black Seas Barracudda). The fort is by another SydLUG member (shnake1973 on flickr) and water by Robb from SydLUG. Check my Flickr page for photos of the event: http://www.flickr.com/photos/intrastella/ Dr Rod aka Intrastella
  11. Mine were bought second hand through e-bay and in pretty much perfect condition, no peeling. I can't be sure how long they had been applied but they seems OK. I also recently bought set 365 through brickling and all stickers are OK bar one that had one corner peeling. A little bit of glue fixed that. Dr Rod
  12. Howdy Strangers, I am sitting here building Boulder Cliff Canyon and this is significant because ... it is the last western set to add to my collection :). I was pretty stoked when I found out Lego had made western sets and it is probably now my favourite theme. I'll be taking a complete layout of the official sets to Canberra (Australia) for Brick Expo in a month (http://www.brickexpo.com.au/) so drop by if you are nearby. DrRod
