I'm not happy with my current layout and would like to change it. A nice item will be a bridge for 12v trains. Who has already build one or/and has experience with it. 12v trains are not lightweights and some of mine pull 4 long wagons. The bridge itself won't be any problem, only how should I build the slope. Like how many straight tracks I need to get the train in the 'air'?

Review: 7725 Electric Passenger Train (12V)
BillytheKid replied to JopieK's topic in LEGO Train Tech
The best 12v legotrain is for me the 7740. The 7725 is still a goodlooking train and the only one with short wagons in a electric version. Before I started to with bricklink, I started to build this train in blue. I've build 4 trains of it and sold 2 of them. Still one for sale . You can also build this in other colors, like a yellow one: Or you can build a black version, which I made a death train of it. Driven by a skeleton . -
The nice thing of my design is, the 9v motor can run forever. Even when the switch thing is finshed. When I look at your design, I wonder what happens of you keep the 9v motor running? Is the motor you used a strong one? You need a lot of force to change the switch without modify it.

Is it me or is this just sick .......

Time for a little update. Here you can see my little building corner. Sorry for the mess, but I'm modify set 4555 to place it somewhere. Here a left view of my layout: And here the right view of my layout: Currently I want all harry potter sets now. Here you can see (and follow) how slowly and steadily it grows :D :

Well, I didn't have a wormgear. Otherwise I used that piece, maybe in near future I try with it. Hopefully the building will be much smaller then it's right now. I've modified the switch like this: So, it's strong enough overcome the torque needed to set the switch. I use mine own design to change the polarity for the power:

Great review. I wish I had some room to place this set somewhere..........

Finally I have the design made. The white tooth clutch I used is the safety part, which protect that the structure can't be pull apart through the power of the 9v motor. Then I used some tooth for a slowdown the switching part and tooth bevel to show me where the train will go. I've put this part at top, used in 12v trains: Here the pic's of the design: What you people think of this design? Only I'm not very happy with the little house I made around it. I would like to know what you people think also of the little house around it.

Review: 7979 Castle Advent Calendar (First Look)
BillytheKid replied to brickbitz's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I just bought this set, only for the joker : -
Program is running. Now I would like to know how I can put parts in like a 12v trainmotor .
-
Can someone explain and/or help how to install this virtual building program?
-
Or is it me or something else, but that doesn't work. Are you sure this is the right link? If I've installed MLCad, then I can show you how mine design is.And most pc's (including mine) running with Windows XP ;) .
-
Which program is used to make virtual lego models? Then I can show you people what mine desgin is.
-
Call me lazy, but is there already a topic for a remote controlled 9v switch? I've designed one by myself. I saw at brickshelf that most designs have the similar problem. When the 9v motor runs, it can damage the structure. I've made a safety in it, where the 9v motor can run forever without damage the structure of the switch. I will explain it later with pic's of my design.

Just funny that everyone likes this set outstanding. I love this set also and glad I own one. It looks fantastic with trains running underneath it. Good review .

Nice job, only the choice of your baseplate is unlucky chosen. I would choose the regular roadplate which is in stores. Beside the basplate, I like all details you've changed . I have tried to build precisly the same according the instruction in green:
-
Great designs. You've a instruction form that bus. Would love to make one of myself.
-
I do like the set also. I've bought 2 of them. One to build it up and one to keep it MISB (I dunno for how long ). Only poor things is that the wheels are too wide. Car is 5nops wide instead of 4. Afterall a good design. I wonder if there's a post office coming soon. By the way, great review.

Wow................. Impressive................. I just miss one thing............Where's the city itself? You've enough sets to make one big beautifull city.
-
Thx. Layout is at my attic, pipework are used venting the showerroom. Yes I have some spongebob, not that I'm a fan of it........
-
Took a long time before lego come with these new city sets. Playmobil has these kinds whole the time. I really love these new city sets, I might even buy some . Only 1 problem, where to put these sets? My attic is already too full. Can it be too too full?
-
Looks cool . Did I saw a purple tried copy of trainset 7725 ? And Your monorail is seperate form your traintrack. That it's easier to plan it in. I try to build a monorail cris/cros in my layout. You've to admit that's an another story.
-
Yes I can. When you look at this instruction: Then at your pic: Look at your first female. She had the wrong hairtail ;) .
-
Good job. I keep that in mind if I buy this set.

I've 2 of these sets. One is for sale .....
