Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Roebuck replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I believe it is a limited set not a D2C so a set only sold by one or a few shops in ever country, those sets are never in the retailer catalogues and pop up much closer to the set hit the stores -
Where are the HP Q and A today? So far I have not found the direct link to the video Do you have to be a member of Instagram or twitter to see it Is it possible to see it later if one miss the live show?
-
From what I read in the rules there is no limit You can see that they have started to change the design so it will not be exactly as they have posted on Ideas. That always happens anyway with the sets approved by Lego so no big deal, however this time I think the animals and minifigs would be more affected negatively than normal
-
Yes, rather odd no pirate set is among them right
-
31 old Ideas sets that made it into review, but did not make it into production. They now get a new chance on Bricklink (BL), the 13 first of them that gets 3000 buyers will be made into "sets"
-
Yes, but we will not know the winner before next year when we get the set
-
Not a single Ideas red/bluecoat set made it among the 31 on BL. I think this is good news, the most likely reason is that they are making a official one, at least that is what I hope
-
No pirates sets and only one castle set, makes me think Lego has something in the oven themself This is great news for a lot of fans of the Ideas sets, however for me personally I will probably not buy any since they only can use parts in production for the sets. So e.g. a castle set would have very few animals and minifigs which for me is one of the best part of it, then we are left with a great moc/parts pack and the parts can probably be bough cheaper somewhere else so you must really like the moc then However I will wait and see how they end up before I make up my mind..
-
I have been existed since I heard about the sets There are coming 13 old ideas sets for sale on BL, however since the designers must use only parts in production I do not think it would give us any good animal part packs unfortunately

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Roebuck replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
The horse went up, but still near impossible to buy I was hoping that after the phone orders lost the possibility to order parts not in stock, it would be a lot easier to buy them in stock, but so far that is not the case unfortunately -
I agree, it gets better every time you see it I do not think so, why would they risk their job just to tell someone about Lego news, more likely they are shop owners etc I agree, if I got a regular source of Lego news I would probably keep it for myself instead of posting it here and ruining my participation on the forum. Better to be a normal member than having to answer about leaks left right and centre Regarding your Luigi, that is actually coming I talked to a source (not mine) some time ago and asked about HP, but got noting other than a Luigi coming later this year (I am serious, but take some salt just to be sure)

I was expecting more of them, but not this year in the normal wave so that is somewhat disappointing yes Should have waited until next winter wave with it It is exactly the opposite; a lot of planning to get most out of every character
-
I suggested this a long time ago, however with the "lower your expectations", I think it is something not in minifig-scale like this: It sure would make a lot of sense with a chess set in HP and a lot would be disappointed by a D2C one because they hoped for a DA set: This would be fantastic for me! However not very likely that they give us 2 D2C in 2 years that is basically the same set, and the price would be higher if is should match last years set. I have still hope that they will give us single buildings with a price point around 100$ so it is easier to collect than big D2C This: This gives me hope since you prefer not to use a lot of money on a big expensive wave, but prefer a smaller more affordable one They probably just made a bunch of them for the set and put rest of them in storage if they needed to make more waves of the set. I do not think they have had more than one run or very few at the factory. So it should be no problems with the mould I think, but they must limit the number of parts they have in circulation. It is in several parts of the movies that still have no set, so would not be surprised if they bring it back, maybe even a foal with Luna in the next CMF I agree, more common parts worn down the mould, but that takes a lot of use. My theory is that is why they update the old animal moulds, because the mould is worn down so instead of making a similar one they make a new updated one instead It is only a matter of time until they give in for the massive consumer pressure #BringBackTheGOAT

This must be right, the only thing that is missing is Cedrik (maybe a golden one is included)
-
Another option is minidoll animals, there is both horse and sheep, but no chicken I think. They are normally not used with minifigs, however this is Disney so anything can happen I guess

Lego HP was mentioned as one of the best selling themes in 2020 in the live press-conference the other day So I do not think there is any danger they will stop making them anytime soon even if that means a lot of pearl gold figs apparently
-
Well it is better than noting, but they will cost a pretty penny However if the moulds turn out to be normal, the print is probably not, but then it most likely will be reused in a minifig set with normal printing sooner or later From what I read this should be a 4+ set, but with all the animals included it sounds more like a duplo set

Yes, but Eeyore is a character, this is just general animals right I think it is a good chance they are Disneyfied, however there are a horse and a chicken in the set and it is unlikely they will get 3 new mould in the set so that gives me hope. There was a horse in toy story, but that was also a character so unsure if they can use that in the set as a generic horse Have there been any Disney chickens or sheep in the past they can use?

I have not seen the play or read the book, and from what I have heard from the plot it sounds: However it sounds like it just keeps going week after week and are put up in several big city's with new cast (before the pandemic I mean), so it must be rather good in some ways and I would not mind seeing it one day, however Lego sets in the current format seems very unlikely
-
He is the design lead on the theme, there are several other designers that do most of the sets and those have changed a lot every year. Have not heard any news of him changing job and I do not think that is the issue being the change in style anyway Most of us where expecting DH sets this year and that could mean some sort of closure on the theme and I would not be surprised if that was what they originally planned when they started the theme again. However with the sales the theme is doing they clearly changed that plan. So they could keep the original plan and next year start giving us sets we missed the first time around, but they did not do that either apparently since they started with that last year already. Instead they used the 20 year anniversary to give us something different this year by the looks of it, but they give us mostly things we where asking for right. If they give us DH sets next year in the "normal" style as some people expect/hope for then what in 2023, they would definitely not give us a COS, Flyffy, bathroom etc set in the "normal" style then. So they use up a number of set ideas this year which makes it a little more unlikely they are going back to the "normal" style next year in my mind I do not follow SW closely, but my understanding is that they save sought after figs and sets for years before they give them to the fans. E.g. Queen Amidala that did not show up in a set before 12-13 year had passed and never since so she cost a goat or two on BL My guess is that they have started the same tactic in HP to make the theme last longer, but what can they give us: DA expansions, a lot to make and it could become a annual collectible like the modulars, but with a lower price point. However if we do not get a set this year this becomes more unlikely every year Hogsmeade expansions, still more to make here also Hogwarts expansions, like they do, but maybe they will change style every 3 years and start over again Setts we missed the first time, they already started with that also Different from minifig scale, done that from the beginning with D2C Hogwarts, Hedwig, I think we will see more in this category as times goes Other stuff, like the books, arts, only the imagination is the limit so here I expect more to come as well CMF every other year and D2C every year maybe

Yes it is the Disney tax to pay as you mention to explain a lot of the price most likely, however I would not mind to pay say 10$ more for the Blacksmith it i had included 5-6 extra animals First of all the original submission had a horse, a goat, a hare, 3 hens and a owl, all of which they could have easily included since they are in production except the goat. Second they tried really hard to include the goat, but the leaders would not give them the budget to do so. Thirdly apparently the budget was so strict that the designers had to choose between a hen or a horse and of course the horse is the better choice in this set since it adds more. I like all farm animals and all of them are rare to get in sets even the horse now a days. I have a few goats (would of course like more) so to me personally it would be better if they e.g. made a sheep, however I support other fans wanting the goat back and it will be interesting to see if we can apply enough consumer pressure on TLG so they do it This is mostly right, the mould is of a red deer stag however the colour is not. Disney and other big company's seem to think that people in USA can not comprehend that there are other deer species than white-tailed deer so they make the reindeer with white-tailed deer colours and for some reason Lego made the same mistake It is the same with all deer with antlers they shed them every year Red deer do it in late winter or early spring, so if you were visiting the park in spring or early summer the males probably did not have much of a antler. Sometimes they may even remove the antlers so it can not hurt anyone with it in parks like that

Ideas sets have a very low budget in general and compared to HP, most sets there have never a new mould that is why there is so shocking when one set gets 5 of them
-
While most of what you say probably are true, a goat would drive sales of any set I do not say that the Blacksmith needed 5 new moulds, but with a similar budget like that it could easily included a goat or two and 3-4 other animals and still had not used half the budget of this set, not very fair is it
