  1. No of course that is right, however I have grown up with the original bluecoats and stopped collecting pirates sets in the beginning of the redcoats era before I came out of the dark ages, so I want that I believe most of the pirate fans wants either blue- or redcoats now, then further down the line of sets we can start discussing Armada sets
  2. I meant one set a year like a creator expert for pirates, it still may be wishful thinking Haha, no I think the pirate theme went downhill after -94 much like the rest of the company And it was great, but as you say the game may have changed since then so a single Eldorado fortress super duper set could happen
  3. I think and hope they make fewer sets aimed more at AFOLs than a standard wave of sets aimed at kids. We really need a imperial base like Eldorado fortress remade instead of a 50 dollar fort. I would not mind if they do both, a big imperial set and then smaller sets aided at kids that in addition can add detail to the bigger set
  4. Lego did not want any more pirate sets on ideas, it was a lot of submitted imperial sets after the B-Bay came out. Lego removed a lot during vote collecting, then stopped similar ideas to be submitted in the first place and of course refused the 3 ones in review. Why?! Because they most likely are working on something similar themself I wanted imperials(pirates) the most also, but like you voted castle because; A vote for pirates could likely end up as a new pirate ship and not a Eldorado fortress remade super set since imperials was a different category Castle has a better chance of beating space and bonkle I think Castle fans are more "hungry" than pirates fans right now A better chance to get the goat back! 7189 Mill Village Raid is my favourite set of all time, so even if the potential 90 year set is a castle, it is still possible to include a lot of animals and civilian figs
  5. It depends why it was not in a set. Was it because there was a issue with the mould or because the set it came in was cancelled. If the mould is fine, it may show up eventually in a set where it fits, they are probably not making a set for the killer whale just to get it on the marked, so it may take years.
  6. No a big surprise since Lego probably working on something similar do to the massive success of B-Bay Several similar sets where even removed from Ideas before they could reach 10 000 or was stopped at the door when they where submitted. So that is a clear hint, why they do not do the same for modulars etc I do not know
  7. Maybe, but just because pirates got one set last year do not mean that Lego would never give us a new one next year It may even be that bonkle do not get the 90 year set, but get something else soon because of all the love from the fanbase. The 90 year set is only one set, not a full wave of sets so even if Lego has plans for a theme it do not rule out that that theme also gets the 90 year set I agree, if the bonkle fanbase is big enough Lego may relese new sets in the future and I have no problem with that. However now it is one set either or we are fighting about so I really hope they do not win
  8. Finally this set made it to 10 000 I really hope Lego makes it, it is the first farm set that have made it in to review so hard to know what they do They may decide farm belongs in City and not make it, even if they never make a farm subtheme again there
  9. AFOLs are 20% of the buyers now and a lot of us wants goats and other animals In addition they have already made the goat so should not be as expensive as making a brand new one. I am sure moulds that are broken or worn out needs replacing from time to time say a 2x4 brick how many times have that needed a new mould over the years? In those cases I am sure they do not start from scratch, but simply makes the new mould from blueprints etc.. I agree with @Clone OPatra that it will happen eventually
  10. Or maybe just a employee came up with the idea about a 90 year set. Some others think that it was a nice idea so they have a meeting or two discussing which themes to include and which to live out like western. Then post it and expecting 5000 votes (remember that a lot of ideas sets use a year to get 10 000 votes). WOW what happen there, everybody went crazy and it got 77 000 votes and maybe the categories should have been different If it what planned properly they could have gotten the same kind of data by have only main categories like Castle and when you vote on that you will get a second question on what kind of subtheme you would like to vote on
  11. That's why Lego probably are making something similar already Congratulation Do not think that has anything to do with it. Either make a set with a license that Lego wants to work with like you did or make something really original, other than that Lego rather make it themself which is fine No need to increase the limit over 10 000 votes since Lego do not care if it is 3 or 35 sets in review
  12. I think I read somewhere that the wildlife sets was suppose to come out last year. The wave is missing the 20$ set spot, so would make sense that the lioness set was part of that wave, maybe that is why it is only sold directly by Lego to wait for the rest of the wave. Even if that is the case it do not necessarily mean the rest of the sets are from Africa, but the chance increases Maybe they can use a part from the trunk, but would not work with the bigger parts I think If some of you have not voted in the "Ideas 90 years poll" yet, it is a good place to comment that you want animals like goats in the set
  13. I guess that is some year ago since it is the old horse mould, but a nice haul nonetheless
  14. It is going to be expensive to get a herd of horses
  15. Might be, but a thing is not necessarily a oddity just because it is not in the States Excellent news Classic space is not a general space theme and neither is classic castle that is why it is Castle in the vote which is a general term So it is: (General) bionicle (General) castle (only) pirates (only) classic space My favourites was the imperials, however it looks like that is not combined with pirates in the final vote. In addition to the fact that pirates got the B-Bay last year I do not think they will win so I am probably voting castle since I do not want classic space and goes without saying bionicle to win Goat
  16. Are you kidding It was in the Lego catalogue next to the other sets and I think maybe it was the first "pirate set" I got back in the day
  17. I know beggars can't be choosers, but no thanks it is not for me unless you mean "creator expert" I believe Pirates was the first Lego theme with a story, it had a comic book and several named characters I do not think that kids today would not like Pirates or Castle. The issue is probably that Lego only can make a limited number of themes at any given time and there are no free spots available. Say there is 40 themes and a 8 year old boy have 3 favourites that he collect sets from. If Lego where to make 400 themes the same boy would not get 10 times the number of sets from 30 themes. To many themes to choose from and they will just fight among themself so Lego have some evergreen themes and others that stay around from 1-3 years. That is why I think it would be a good idea to make bigger sets in those themes aimed at adults like the Barracuda Bay set
  18. Maybe the kids today do not want pirates or castle, I do not know. However AFOLs definitely do, so if Lego makes more sets like Barracuda Bay aimed at adults I am sure they will sell like hot cakes (and probably a lot of kids will want them as well) In addition the reboots are not very recent, it been what 8 and 6 years ago? Just look what happen to Harry Potter 7 years after the last wave; in 2018 it had 4 times as many top10 best selling sets as any other theme
  19. I want native american sets as much as the next one, they came out during my dark age, but I have still bougth them all since I like the theme and sets a lot. However from what I understand (to be clear; no exspert by any means) the sets are a hodgepodge of different tribes and in this day and age that may not be so easy to pull of as it was over 20 year ago In addition I do not see the agrumant that a posible cowboy set in ideas should stop a native american set from particepaiting in this competision It could be, something is definitely of with the way they made the poll and I would be surprised if no one of all the Lego employees that handled it did not see the problem. They have not said exactly how they will determine the winner either, so maybe they add up all the different people that have voted for castle and give us a castle set with the most popular fractions BTW imperials is a pirate fraction Unfortunately I think that a lot of people that voted for classic castle do not actually want a yellow castle, but thought it was a umbrella category for older castle sets
  20. Personally I do not think that is the case, why was not islanders included? Probably the same reason as western Same here, I have always liked imperials more than pirates. A lot of people probably voted pirates because it sounds like a more general description of the theme even if they would be fine or even prefer imperials or islanders. It the assumed top 3 are in the last vote, I will vote for pirates, but think classic space will win
  21. I agree, I think the HP films are good and tell their story in a satisfying way. However something different like FB could be interesting to see since it is a very fascinating wizarding world
  22. I really like Andres humour and energy Most of the humour on this was lost in translation however I do not have any bad feelings to the cite for that reason FB is wrapping up the 3rd film next week , looking forward to seeing it 2022
  23. "Then on February 3rd 2021, we will launch a second fan vote, which will run until February 10th 2021. One of those themes will be what the 90th Anniversary Set will be based on! We just need a little time to verify all the votes and make sure everything is 100% accurate before we share the results with you, as the second fan vote goes live." Now they are not saying anything about that it is 3 choices in the finale vote Are verifying all the votes, so votes can be deleted if it is foul play One of the themes (3 or more?) in the last vote will get the sett
  24. He do not earn any money on that, so if he has any info he will probably wait until he can make a video. If you make money of Lego news, why give them away for free Did we not get HP info last year from the German toy-fair from a random participant (or was that the year before?), so I hope we get some set names at least
