  1. They are expensive, just look at a basic City train set that cost 230$, add a much more detailed train, maybe some extra tracks and a detailed station or two and you are getting close by Lego standards
  2. It has never been off the table "Darker" had noting to do with it, they made a set of where Harry is "killed" for crying out loud My guess is that they after several years of being reluctant to give out many HP sets after previously been burnt, they decided to take the chance and give out a couple of best of waves to the last two movies. Some sets are from DH, and some are from previous films.. I told people they focused to much on the price when they used it as a argument to what it could not be I hope it is DA, but assumed it would be something else, if it is the HE that is probably the second most likely set, I would have guessed it was something completely different I see you live up to your name The HP design time is one of the best ones working at Lego, giving us fantastic sets every year and getting a lot of praise from fans even from those that do not even collect HP sets! Would be really interesting to see what figs we get yes, the King's Cross station worker from the two first films is probably included and maybe they include epilogue figs A decent selection of owls would be appreciated after zero in the summer wave I do not believe it yet either has been several different rumours what the set could be earlier, however if it is correct you should probably eat your hand for good measure so sure you have been that it has been DA
  3. https://www.brickfanatics.com/buckbeak-has-changed-since-harry-potter-2019/ They look different, but I still think it is the renders The print looks different as well.. I would loved to get them in more colours, but unfortunately they only included him in the film so small chances we get them in brown etc
  4. I think that could just be a mistake with the renders and that all sets have some. I hope for new ones, but most likely it is the same from last years I think it is the same colour as the "toy story" set, but without the name tag. Yes they have done a good job of stopping leaks lately, I guess the "leak hunter" they hired last year is doing a great job I was sitting yesterday waiting for FB3 to start in the movies (I liked it, it was fantastic visuals and not confusing like the last one) and just checked my phone an there was suddenly the hole summer wave First of all I am happy we got a DH set so maybe I do not have to see the wrong quote that Lego are never going to make DH sets here any more The minifigs are the stand outs to me, a excellent selection and the especially the MOM set is all I could hope for minifig-wise We get 2 new cats + the patronus, a bat, german shepherd and sparrow recolour + the new juvenile thestral so that is great However a new HP wave without any owls, with those prices they should be able to include some owls in the sets All in all happy they still manage to give us new sets and not remakes from the last few years (20 year old remakes is fine), well done Lego WW theme
  5. Really?! Looks the same to me unfortunately
  6. It is the year of the cat definitely I noticed the bat as well, but hard to get a good look at it with the pictures I have seen so far. No owls is a HP wave is disappointing, but overall not bad animal-wise
  7. That was early I am looking forward to finally see it tomorrow I hope for some FB sets or at least minifigs this year, but do not hold my breath..
  8. I thought it was the 10th of august, not that that means much in this case Lego could easily keep this under wraps as long as they want until august, however what is giving me hope we will see it sooner is the fact that it is a price in a ideas competition that I believe ends/announce the winner i may
  9. I would be hard to pull of at least in the same way as B-bay and Lego has more or less stooped including alternative models to their sets except in 3 in 1 sets and no chance we are getting that ( especially with the 3 in 1 Castle set we got last year). I think I prefer they include 1 fantastic model instead of 3 that need to make compromises. Say we get one lion castle, one village and one forestman hide out in the set, the parts needed to build those 3 do not overlap 100% so compromises would have been made to all 3
  10. Sounds like you have been fooled to me
  11. The new cat look excellent to me, had not guessed we would get any new animals from that line, but they pop up everywhere this year
  12. I think the marked may have changed a lot during those years, when I was a kid and the pirates hit the marked, by brother and me managed to collect most of the small sets as gifts over time. I vaguely remember saving for a long time to buy even Sabre island, the bigger sets where out of our league we did not have a lot of money growing up. That was the same for most other kids at the time, I am not sure we even knew one that had the Black seas barracuda or Eldorado fortress. Now on the other hand kids often gets more gifts for one birthday then I did most of my youth combined, people have a lot more money now at least here and the kids are spoiled so if a pirate line came out now a lot of them would probably get the flagship set before even the cheapest set in the line
  13. I think two of the buildings in the first shot is just mocs so I think the castle could be also, my guess is that it is not the castle we get in August. It would be rather clumsy to reveal that accidentally this way as well (however would not be the first time). I assume they used some time to make this promo as well, would they have access to use a set that is released a half year later (was the castle even finished when they made the promo). As I have said I find it unlikely they will include those minifigs and only those animals in the set
  14. ? It is not a wish list, but the figs I see in the "back to the future" video. The blacksmith is the odd one out, because he is the only one that has been in one of the sets in the clip
  15. Thank you, that was what I meant There are 5 other Castle sets in the ad; https://www.brickfanatics.com/six-sets-in-lego-back-to-the-future-short/ So it is possible that it is the D2C castle or a previous version of it. However the minifigs do not match any of those sets except the blacksmith, they just look like old figs from the 80ties I expect them to update the old figs to modern standard not just copy the old ones. In addition only 1 cow and 2 horses are in the clip so if this is what we end up with minifig- and animal-wise I will be disappointed since I expect more from 350$ What I see: forestman farmer forestman woman forestman girl forestman boy blacksmith forestman troubadour nobleman? riding lion soldier lion soldier lion soldier
  16. Are you sure? I can not check it right now, but found the following statement regarding the "new" horse: "Comments below from LEGO Senior Creative Designer Matt Ashton, posted on the LEGO Ambassador Forum : "Our core target audience of 5-10 year old boys has told us in ongoing testing that the original LEGO horse is a bit ‘baby-ish’, and too static to play with properly. So we’ve re-designed the LEGO horse to make it more dynamic, pose-able and appealing by adding a higher level of detail. The new horse will appear in the LEGO Lord of the Rings sets will be released in June 2012. "The new horse can now kick, bolt and rear up on its hind legs, making it much more playable and pose-able, while the refined detail level has also made it seem more ‘grown-up’ and ‘cooler’ in kids’ eyes. "In making these changes we have obviously had to take into consideration several different challenges. "First, we are fully aware that the ‘original’ horse may be perceived as a LEGO icon in many consumers’ eyes. So, when designing the new horse, we did our best to create a new version that pays homage to the original horse, particularly its proportions, silhouette and decoration style. "Second, we have made some design choices in regards to the compatibility between the ‘new’ horse and the existing horse accessories. The existing saddle element can be used with the new version of the horse. The new horse can also wear the current barding, although it cannot be posed while wearing this element. We will be developing a replacement barding for future product launches, ensuring that the horse can be dressed for battle and still be fully pose-able. However, by streamlining the new horse’s head to make it more dynamic and more like a ‘real’ horse, we had to decide that the existing horse headgear/head plates would not compatible with the new horse. These pieces will also soon be replaced with new elements in future products. "We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may cause to certain collectors, but we are striving to ensure that we are ultimately creating the best product and play experience for our core audience for the long term. Matt Ashton, Senior Creative Director, LEGO Group"" I remember my brother got 6085: Black Monarch's Castle when we where young for his birthday and 2 of the horses had barding and that sure was something else compared to other knights on horse back then, so would be great if we get some in this set
  17. I hope they stay away from including things like siege towers, catapults and battering rams. Instead of making a set with conflict between two fractions I much rather have a set in "peace"; the lion knights with their castle and knights from other fractions visiting, jousting etc as a mean to include them and then a lot of civilian figs. Especially a lot of female figs as other have mention, they are really rare in older Castle sets so would be useful to get A cart could be pulled by cows as well so I hope for that, it is a first time for everything Horse bardings would be nice to see yes, there where some in 2013 so unless the mold is destroyed (why destroy moulds in the first place, save them you never know when they become usefull again)
  18. Wait until you see it before passing judgment, you ended up liking Icons last year after seeing pictures right?!
  19. It could happen There are basically 4 things that use of the budget: Parts Minifigs Animals New moulds, prints, recolors etc If we get more of one group, we get less of one or several of the other ones. I am really existed to see what they have used the budget on in this set
  20. I agree! I am sure the D2C will be amazing no matter what it is, so I am not so hyped/worried what it might be, since the 90 year castle has taken all my available hype this year
  21. They sometimes contain the smallest animals without printing like crab, fish or frog as you mention. Probably because they are really cheap parts and so small so it would be hard to brick-build them anyway
  22. It could happen, but which 25 figs do you guys expect in the set then? As I have said I prefer that some of those 25 figs are changed out with animals in the set. Should not cost them to much of the budget since they are in production already: 3 horses are in production, so they may use 2 of those then some budget on black and white if we get 4 in the set 1 foal in production, probably recolored if they include it No goats in production, but this would be the perfect opportunity to include it, must remake the mould so would be expensive budgetwise, most likely a recolor if it happens 1 cow in unknown color in production, could be included as it is 1 calf in unknown color in production, could be included as it is, but maybe skipped for budget reasons at least sheep in one color in production, could be included as it is, especially if we do not get a goat 1 lamb in unknown color in production, could be included as it is, but maybe skipped for budget reasons at least pig in one color in production, could be included as it is or recolored 1 piglet in unknown color in production, could be included as it is, recolored or maybe skipped for budget reasons at least hen in one color in production, could be included as it is or recolored So with 1, "new" mould and a few recolored ones they could have a hole "farm" included in the set I agree, something like the old lion knight castle, but with modern details and techniques..
  23. Maybe they needed to do another batch of them because of this set and the surplus ended up at B&P then I think it we be in the 90 year Castle as well so it do not rule out that explanation either, however it it still is in production I assume: that it will be the same horse, not one with slightly different printing like the white one had when it resurfaced after some years that it should cost less of the budget to include it along with the 2 other horses in production
  24. I agree! I understand that people that can not afford it complain about the price, however a set below 150$ would have had a much higher chance of just ending up OK like: With a price of 350$ on the other hand the chance of it becoming the best Castle set of all time is a lot higher, it imply they have spared no expense 24 seems a lot, I would rather have fewer similar figs and more animals My guess would be: King Queen Princess/noble lady Prince/nobleman Lion knight Lion knight Black falcon knight Knight from other fraction Farmer Maid Squire Goatherder Lion soldier Lion soldier Lion soldier Lion soldier Forestman Soldier from other fraction
