  1. That would be a excellent way to do it, the D2C could maybe include 5-6 of the smaller shops. Hopefully one of them is Eeylops Owl Emporium, we really need some more owls in the sets
  2. I was in several toy shops last week and they all had the new wave of sets, but the bigger sets from last year where sold out in every shop. One of the shops even had the D2C on display, but they had sold every copy of the set So if only the biggest shops and web-stores have them they are in a way limited availability In UK the last 12 months sale of HP toys from all brands, 6 of the top 10 spots are Lego sets That is crazy since every 5 minutes a HP toy is sold in the UK https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-sets-dominate-the-best-selling-harry-potter-toys/
  3. Lego have made several small Diagon Alley sets in the past; 4714: Gringott's bank 4719: Quality Quidditch Supplies 4720: Knockturn Alley 4723: Diagon Alley Shops And we have already gotten a D2C so maybe they want to make something else for a change next time? Would not surprise me at all and if we get small sets it increases the chance of getting something beside the 3-4 usual suspects if Lego make several sets down the line
  4. My two cents; A lot of the negative comments about this set probably comes from the fact that we all got a surprise and was caught off guard Last year when we got the huge Hogwarts D2C and most people where hoping and expecting it to be a system-scale set.. Then after building expectations for a long time suddenly the nanofigs leaked and it was very clear it was not a system-scale set with minifigs (yes it has 4 ). Many were disappointed myself included, but we got time to recover from the shock and some time later the set was revealed and it turned out to be amazing! On top of that we are getting system-scale parts of Hogwarts every year so we can have both With this set everybody was expecting it to be a system-scale set most likely the visitor center.. Then after a while minifigs started to leak, who seemed to confirm that this was from the first film and what "everyone" was hoping for and expecting. Then after some time it is revealed and it turns out to be a huge dinosaur and gate no near system scale with the minifigs playing the second fiddle.. If we got a heads up a long time before what to expect like last year I do not think people would be so negative.. It is a great looking set and the dinosaur looks more amazingly well build every-time I see it move in videos. As a stand alone set it will probably sell a lot and I think history will treat it kinder than at its birth Maybe Lego will make more system-scale sets in the future from the first movie, time will tell
  5. Finally some animal mould news! A green chameleon has popped up on BL, looks great and it is a minifig animal not minidoll from the looks of it The rubber duck piece has popped up in green/red at the same seller.. The snowy owl also comes in the HP advent calendar
  6. A green house build could be a set that either comes with a smaller or bigger piece of Hogwarts or it could be a smaller stand alone set, either way would be great to get it one day
  7. Thanks for the heads up I have been away from home this week doing Biologist fieldwork So it looks like I am too late to the party since I can not find a picture of the chameleon or the duck Did the duck look like something like a mallard? I do not have the duck piece yet so not sure how well it look like a "real" duck, maybe more like a duckling now? What is the size compared to the hen mould? Edit: Found them, the duck looks less "real" then the other, but the Green Chameleon looks great
  8. Yes, this is another prof for how well the sets actually are selling, like some of us has thought for a while The calendar looks great and perfect a lot of the builds can be used directly in sets! Personally I would have liked some students we still do not have instead of duplicates of teachers.. On the other hand I understand why they include more famous characters.. It was a pity Mcgonagall did not have a dress piece, but probably due to time limits. Next years will be even better
  9. Known locations according to HP wiki: 2nd Hand Brooms Amanuensis Quills Apothecary Broomstix Eeylops Owl Emporium Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour Flourish and Blotts Gambol and Japes Wizarding Joke Shop Gringotts Wizarding Bank Healer Shop Junk shop The Leaky Cauldron Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions Madam Primpernelle's Beautifying Potions Magical Menagerie Obscurus Books Ollivanders Potage's Cauldron Shop Quality Quidditch Supplies Rosa Lee Teabag Scribbulus Writing Instruments Second-Hand Bookshop Second-Hand Robes Slug & Jiggers Apothecary Sugarplum's Sweets Shop TerrorTours The Ministry Press The Daily Prophet's main office Twilfitt and Tatting's Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Whizz Hard Books Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment Various Stalls and Peddlers So plenty to choice from if Lego started a series, personally I would like to see Eeylops Owl Emporium and Magical Menagerie done To differentiate them from Hogwarts should not be difficult, they do not look the same and most of the shops are small so half the size/price of the Hogwarts sets would do the trick (exception is Gringotts)
  10. Yes it is unfortunate, but possible they will move them to match the next movie I do not think they will give HP any anniversary sets, when they seem to forgot about this years pirates anniversary.. Actually I think we may get a D2C next year already, but not so sure it will be Diagon alley. they have done it before Lego often make D2C we do not expect or see coming The optimal way to get Diagon alley would probably be to do as they do with Hogwarts, give us one shop in a set once or twice a year until we got the hole street
  11. Welcome Do not forget that year 7 had had 2 movies, so I think 2021 will be movie 7 and 8.. 2022 missing sets or staring over with movie/year 1-2 again Also probably more FB sets next year
  12. Last year e.g. "The brick show" was deleted from youtube after 9 years there because of posting leaks! After they were deleted "MandRProductions" made a video where he is running around interviewing people and try to get them to answer that they are as happy as him that "The brick show" was deleted. Says a lot about him as a person so I do not watch his content, but if he published this leak (?) and got deleted because of it; what a irony that would be.. Sorry for the OT.. I am one of the most avid supporters of animal moulds here, but I must say that is a very well made brick-buildt dinosaur! It will look excellent on a shelf as a display piece I am sure so well done to the designers That being said, except for the minifigs it do not combine with other sets in the theme! I have sweet spot for the old JP (the new dinosaur hybrids not so much) and last years "75932: Jurassic Park Velociraptor Chase" got me thinking that I should start buying the sets if they made more like that. So like many others I was expecting a D2C system scale set from the first JP movie with several dinosaur moulds maybe even a new huge brachiosaurus mould, but since that is not the case my wallet is happy
  13. Some very nice Wizarding World builds
  14. Wave 1 was from 1-2; " We based these sets on movies 1 and 2 with a few bits from 3 added for flavour"! The flavour is basically a few figs in HE, the rest of the set could easily be from the first or second film.. Wave 2 is strictly sets from 3-4 and I believe the sets next year will be from 5-6 only. That said other stuff like the CMF, bricktober and advent calendar are not so strict with where the figs comes from, so figs from older waves is possible there.. This is a set I would like to see I have a heard of 10-12 thestrals already, but can always have more
  15. @RODDY some good guesses with the sets When it comes to the CMF I think they will use it to make characters that did not end up in a set. Except off course the main cast, but the same could be said about most of their versions in the CMFs. Percival Graves (not in any set, FB1) Luna Lovegood (not in any set, HP5) Professor Sybill Trelawney (not in any set, HP3) Professor Filius Flitwick (not in any set yet (probably HP1-2 in AC)HP3) Dobby (not in any set, HP2) Mad-Eye Moody (not in any set, HP4) Cho Chang (not in any set, HP4) Dean Thomas (not in any set, HP3-4) Neville Longbottom (not in any set, HP2) Credence Barebone (not in any set, FB1) Since they turned out so popular it may very well be that we get one CMF next year and one in 2021, then figs from 3-4 could be included. My guess would be characters like; Rita Skeeter, Igor Karkaroff, Patil twins, Madam Pomfrey etc.. From the 4 last films a lot of the same type of characters, and probably figs from FB2-3 also
  16. I totally agree and I think Lego has realised that now as well Well that depends how well the movie does it, I do not think angry birds was a best-seller E.g. Prince of persia had some nice sets, but did not sell a lot since the movie was not a hit from what I understand.. Yes, it is different because it is a gold mine The marketing push has been steadily increasing the last years, as more fans in all ages join in on the fun
  17. It got over 10 000 votes almost twice the number as the next set got so it was well deserved! Personally I have no interest in any of them so I did not vote either
  18. I do not think this theme is really risky at all compared to e.g. minions next year.. This years sets have plenty of iconic stuff and I think the FB movies are more important in selling FB sets than they are in selling HP sets. I am sure this years wave will do very well also, the sets are excellent made and there is a high demand for HP stuff
  19. I guess a polybag including a dementor or death eater is the best we can hope for to armybuild them Maybe Harry with dementor boggart
  20. Not sure, but I think the promos at shop@home and Lego brand stores are usually the same
  21. I see you get last years polybag with HP purchase at shop@home.. Probably just means that they have a surplus of it, but hopefully it do not mean that we won't get a new HP polybag this year
  22. Yes, but I would argue that you get everything you need with the same number of figs this time. Lego needs to make sets in different sizes, so to me it was the right call to make a small set of this scene and instead give the 500 piece set to Hagrid's Hut I at least do not say it is random, they played a important part in Harry's first quidditch match. That was the point since the new sets include figs that was important in a specific scene. Older sets would instead include e.g. Madam Hooch that play a part in every match instead of only one.
  23. You are right this time around Lego are putting in minifigs that was in the scenes in the movies, in the past they often put in figs that was missing! E.g. Snape and Hermione in the quidditch set, that has never happened before.. In the GOF sets this year we got 2 Cedric, 2 Krum and 3 Fleur, back in the days we would instead get 0 Cedric (we already got one in the CMF), 1 Krum and 1 Fleur. The 5 available minifigs spots would have been used on important figs that was missing.. The result of this is that we are missing a lot of important characters from the first 4 movies, but we have also gotten many that never had been in minifig form before I have faith in what Lego is doing whit the HP line this time and I am sure most of the missing figs will show up down the road
  24. I wish some of the sites present on the fan media days last week could publish there interviews with the HP/WW designers soon
  25. Then hopefully it can include the new red deer mould
