  1. Well In the end it had 17 so that was a lot better than 14, however what is the cost per part of the SW set? probably a lot more with the huge Disney tax Those who are looking for CMFs, have you not heard about Bricklink, if you are a little patient you can get al the figs you want there for a decent price
  2. Happy to see Harry Potter on the list, was about time and very impressive with so few sets a year compared to many other themes ;) Surprising that City and Friends are not, I wonder when SW will be out of the list
  3. There is a well known fact that City is one of the most expensive themes per part. However that has mostly to do with their big budget with new parts and often a lot of big parts in the sets. Just look at 60266 with two huge boat pieces and several big animals and other parts: https://www.lego.com/en-no/product/ocean-exploration-ship-60266 Look like I lost the Knuts as well since DA is not sold out yet, fortunate that I am not a betting man except when it comes to fantasy money I assume it will be sold out later when more people outside the inner circle see it or maybe Lego have made plenty this time You sure are a inpatient lot Buying it 5 minutes before you get the GWP However seems like it turned out OK in the end after all for most of you Personally I am the more patient type so even if I can afford the sets now, I will wait to buy all the 2020 sets until I get a better deal or a GWP I want. Half the fun is the hunt for a great deal Enjoy the building for those who got it already Glad to hear that the set has 10 wand boxes, would not make any sense to include only a few when they have made the part for the set
  4. I really like how the street looks when the shops are 2 buildings on each side, I do not think that any more cobblestones are needed because it is rather narrow street in the film.. And as already mentioned I hope we get more buildings in the future, when I see the set I want the missing shops to add on
  5. Everyone is allowed to share their opinion here The main thing that saved them was that they went back to basic , but SW and Bionicle was part of it.. I 100% agree with this Well 400$ for 5544 parts is not bad, but 2-3 more minfigs would made it even better Sorry for OT 18 hours 45 minutes 45 seconds left
  6. OK, if it is a normal retail set that the shops put in the shops when they get it, it is probably not much of an issue, however if they put out something like DA D2C before the deadline they would probably be in some kind of trouble AFOLs coming with advise on how TLG should run their business is just as stupid as football fans screaming at the TV what the players should do in the game. It is a reason why fans are sitting in the sofa watching and not paid huge amounts of money for playing. The same goes for us it is a reason why we are posting comments here and not running one of the biggest toy companies in the world
  7. Not sure if this has been posted before, but here we can get a better look at mostly the outside of the shops in DA which the set is based on: Think there is a lot of potential for future sets here in my mind, the ones that I am most keen on seeing is the Magical Menagerie and Eeylops Owl Emporium, but the others would be nice as well
  8. It will not come and go it will come and stay for several years. It most likely will be sold out imminently anyway so maybe it is better that those who need to save up for the set do not get a warning so that the wave of buyers is more spread out in time. After the reveal it will of course show up in magazines and promotions etc. What is best in this scenario; you know something is coming for a long time, have saved up money and try to buy it day one, but it is sold out for months you see a fantastic new set for sale, start to save up money and can buy it later when you have the funds It is a toy, but also a big businesses so if you think people get a friendly pinch in the cheek and and naughty boy comment when they brake the rules you are sorely mistaken. TLG has a army of layers that will do their best to protect the company's rights, just look at "The Brick show" all their YouTube videos got deleted for braking the rules 3 times. Depends on what it is, but I guess you can get a warning if you brake the street date and maybe next time get the sets later if it keeps happening
  9. Well as long as they see it true to the end it is no problem, if not then I agree with you I feel Hogsmeade can be done as a future D2C, or maybe they make the buildings in similar style as DA buildings in smaller sets so people can mix them for a even bigger street if they like
  10. Well if Lego are giving us 6-8 sets every year in the future they are running out of locations fast if they do not divide them up like Hogwarts and I guess DA from now on I assume one set a year with 2 shops in a modular can just be called the name of the shops Modular buildings, winter village sets and Hogwarts parts are selling a lot and have done so for many years, Lego knows that we like to collect yearly sets that belong together so with many of the most famous DA buildings still missing I think this is a no-brainer
  11. Good to have you back My favourite is Fawkes and I am disappointed that this series only had one animal mould when the first one had six However as a big HP/FB fan this is the only licensed series I have any interest in and I will get them all and several of Fawkes Hopefully we will get a normal series next with a lot of animals like series 19 (and not only one like series 20 had)
  12. I will bet my Knuts (since I already lost all my Galleons and Sickles on betting on the DA reveal) that it do Makes no sense at all, but could the holes be there for those who buy a second DA
  13. Short answer; NO In 2018 4 of the top 10 best selling sets where from WW/HP, no other theme had more than 1 set on that list! Lego City 1 Lego Marvel Super Heroes 0 Lego Friends 1 Lego Classic 1 Lego Star Wars 1 Lego Technic 1 As already mentioned it is the total sale that is mentioned in the financial result, so a small theme do not have a chance against the big guns there, but that do not matter when the sets are outselling other sets. So unless HP sold a lot less in 2019 and 2020 there is no way Lego will retire a theme that is selling that well Happy birthday
  14. More appealing than another hair piece in my mind They will never do something that stupid However if we are lucky we may get the top10 best selling sets next year. I reported the 2018 ones, but unfortunately the inside tours this year was cancelled so do not think we will know the 2019 ones. If we are lucky we may get the 2020 ones next year and will be interesting to see if DA is among them (would not surprise me)
  15. Yes, I agree it was rather disappointing animal-wise, hopefully we get a Eeylops owl emporium shop later with a add on set
  16. The new Diagon Alley set has the 3 owls released in other sets from this year, a rat and a spider (could be more, but will have to wait for the HD pictures)
  17. That is a fantastic idea However I do not seeing it happen unfortunately
  18. I think it will sell plenty and a Gringotts is probably added next year anyway. In my mind the set will only be even better as times goes and we can add more builds to the street. The different parts of Howarts mostly sell to HP fans I assume, while this has a potential to reach a much bigger customer base. I do like to collect the castle parts, but this is much more compact and feels more like collecting modulars which is a good thing in my mind I think as soon as we get the HD pictures the initial minor disappointment of getting 14 (+2) minifigs is probably gone and we can celebrate
  19. Only for a few months before they show up in other stores (at least here in Norway), but hard to predict exactly when so could be after x-mas
  20. Personally I do not care much about details on the minifigs, like if they use a new or old head as long as they do not look to bad (I do think the old Burrrow figs are better than the new, but they are OK). However what I do care about is the number of figs and new characters and both with the DA and the CMF it is becoming more and more clear that they are going for a marathon with this theme and and not just have the sprint left next year. The way they save unique new characters for later and instead give us variants we already got or are getting soon in another set. Regarding figs that should have been included in the DA, there are several ways Lego could have done it: Use the same Arthur we got this year and include Hermiones parents. Not the most interesting figs, but they would not cost much, be unique to the set and most parts probably could be taken from older figs to save money If they managed to make and include Florian I am sure that they could have included more shop owners. They most likely had extras playing shop-owners in the film, even if they did not show up as them in screen they probably have some pictures of them in a drawer somewhere. Use a few extras as shop-owners, there are plenty of people in the movies, just pretend that one of them is a shop-owner so we either can use them in the street or in the shop as we like I really hope we get more FB sets later, because those figs would be perfect in a DA setting Yes, no way we get a full shop GWP, the price of future expansions would probably be 80-100 per set of 2 shops or in Gringotts case maybe even more just for one shop
  21. Would not worry about it, apparently they are the most popular workplace in Denmark I strongly feels it need a lot of other shops from the other side of the street I wonder where they spent the budget on this one, it is not prints and minifigs so must be bricks then Huw at Brickset assumed it was next week.. Lego better bring them all I just think they were on the wrong side of the street If they wanted a birdcage they could have made it easy in the CMF..
