Yes, Bionicle was not the only theme that was not split up and I agree it got the short end of the stick with the picture. However I want this to be fair and it is not I find it strange that Lego included Bionicle in the first place, is it the only theme after 2000? As you say the parts are long retired so if it wins the fans won't get what they want any way

Hard to guess, since Gringotts was not even considered for the DA D2C from the start it only makes sense if it comes in a separate set that is in scale with it. So then it depends on the price if it is the 130$ set it probably is just the bank, however if it is the 250$ one then I think both the dragon and a second building is included. Say it is the 130$, we might get a second set with the dragon maybe with some part of the bank that might or might not be in scale with the main building.. We probably will know a lot more when we get the set names later Regarding other sets from DA in the future, I think it makes most sense to give us one building per set around 100$ to keep the cost down so more people can keep up, make it a yearly expansion like Hogwarts so both HP and more casual modular fans can expand the street in the future

Unfortunately unless they reconsider I do not think they will sum them up. Most people that voted for castle probably want a big castle set, a lot of the fractions was in the same sets, so it should have been no problem to include minifigs from several fractions in one set to make most fans happy

https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-ideas-umfrage-zwischenstand/ https://www.stonewars.net/lego-news/interim-results-of-the-lego-ideas-90th-anniversary-survey/ "So the relevant question is: How many users have voted for at least one Castle subtheme? 23.738 users have voted for at least one Castle subtheme How many users voted for at least one Space theme? 23.396 users voted for at least one Space subtheme" So castle would have been in first place, space on a second if they only had one main category to vote for. Then a second vote for the most popular subtheme could have given us that

Since they ended up including more obscure shops in DA, why would they not make future sets of more famous ones? Maybe I am just hopeful, but I think they will make future DA expansion since a lot is missing and they need more HP sets to make

To me it is not which theme that deserves it the most, but what I want personally and find useful. I find Divers very useful because the sets where packed with animal moulds, however as you mention something similar was in City last year so it is not so high on my list. Bionicle would not give me anything I could use and every theme has helped shaping the company into what it is to day in my opinion. I know that Bionicle helped TLG get back on its feet, but if they have kept making pirates, castle, town etc from the late -80 and early -90 in the same spirit, Lego would probably never ended up in trouble in the first place I am almost sure because of the hopeless voting system that Bionicle will end up among the 3 last ones, I just hope that one of pirates or castle (not classic) subthemes is among the 3 also so fans of those can join forces then

I think everyone should read this: https://www.stonewars.de/kommentare/lego-ideas-umfrage-zu-classic-set-problematisch/ How many voting for classic castle wants a yellow castle with brickbuilt horses? Not many is my guess, they just want a castle set from the late -80 early -90. The way Lego should have done it was let us vote for e.g castle then let us vote for our favourite subtheme directly or in the next round, the same with other themes. The way it is now themes like Bionicle will have a huge advantage. We will see what the 3 final themes are, but I will vote for anything other than Bionicle there. If one of the first 10 are winning I will be happy, after that I will get more unhappy the farther we go down the list Imperials Forestmen Paradisa (if it mens we get a stable with a lot of horses) Pirates Black Knights Lion Knights Dragon Knights Wolfpack Black Falcons Divers Adventurers Trains Town Arctic Time Cruisers Classic Castle Aquazone Studios Xtreme Team Rock Raiders Ice Planet M-Tron Blacktron Space Police Spyrius Exploriens Classic Space Alpha Team Model Team Bionicle

If they do like friends and go all over the world I think a panda is likely, if not not now then definitely soon in a set, maybe a Chinese set in the future Goat news: https://www.brickfanatics.com/the-lego-group-tried-to-resurrect-the-goat-for-21315-pop-up-book/ Sooner or later they must succeed, how hard can it be

Yes I agree To narrow it down I think all sets are set in Africa. Male lion, it only needs a new head and kids will love it. Elephant, was in friends last year, have not got a updated mould of it yet so it makes sense Hope there is room for a third one, maybe something smaller, but not sure what, a zebra is a option if they can pull that of with the horse mould Then they can reuse some big ones like the crocodile, jaguar as a leopard and lioness and smaller ones like parrots, snakes, spider etc LEGO City 60300 Wildlife Rescue ATV-10$-74 parts -most likely 1-2-3 small animals LEGO City 60301 Wildlife Rescue Off-Roader-50$-157 parts something big probably the elephant (1-2 small) LEGO City 60302 Wildlife Rescue Operation-90$-525 parts 2-3 medium plus some small ones or something big LEGO City 60307 Wildlife Camp-100$- ? parts 2-3 medium plus some small ones or something big 60267: Safari Off-Roader fits right in with 20$-168 parts, one medium (lioness) and one small (parrot)

It would definitely be a good sales-point and a fan service, hopefully next time Strange indeed It is stupid that it is called elkhound in English since we do not have elk in Norway, however we have moose than in Norwegian is called "elg", so this always confuse people that translate and do not know a lot about animals and we get this silly mistakes. Basically it is a moosehound and it is rather similar to a husky, so I do not mind that it is included in the set. However we should have gotten it in addition to the other more interesting animals not a substitute for them. The horse is great, but when the description brags about animals included and the second is the rather common husky and the third is a frog I would say that is pushing it a lot I like the look of the set and the minifigs especially the female ones so I will buy it eventually even it it is rather disappoint in the animal department

Regarding animals from City, this is probably the best we could hoped for (together with farm and zoo) I think a male lion is very likely

Probably that since islanders is not an option either, however the native American sets did not have any cowboys or soldiers in them

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Roebuck replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
HP used the budget for the pig, Barracuda Bay "stole" it as they did with all the new parts coming in other sets sice they did not have the budget fond themself. -
I think you are right about that and it is the bank, another shop and a mostly brickbuilt dragon, however I mentioned it as a possibility since a big moulded dragon would fit in with the high price of the parts

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Roebuck replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Most likely unfortunately, I really like the old elephant, but I guess it cost a lot more to make all those smaller moulds than 1-2 big ones -
Sounds more likely than a lot of figs to me. I think the ship, Gringotts with the dragon or chamber of secrets with the basilisk if they give the creatures the Smaug treatment is possible
-
Nice spot, I think you are right Fabulous news Thanks for the heads up I guess a African one is most likely or different continents like the recent friends one. They also had elephants and with the high price to parts ratio so I think that a big animal is on the menu rather than a lot of them. A male lion would make sense and I wonder if they will reuse some animals or make mostly new ones The first one would not work as they are nothing alike, but the zebra/horse might work however unsure if they will do it that way

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Roebuck replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Yes only 3 sets for a subtheme sounds low, maybe a limited set also Should be some big animal moulds then, maybe the elephant is back -
I asked and they could not remember anything unfortunately about HP, so I speculate that Lego only have given them some info, but not shown them the sets yet What I am most eager to know as well, looking forward to a confirmation about the continuation of the DA line I think a Gringotts is highly likely, but if it is the 250$ set and comes with a second building we would know for sure that a new half modular collectible series has sprang to life
-
I agree with most of your points. I did not mean that wild animals would not mind the blacksmith, but the farm animals that where in the original submission. So I guess we misunderstood each other Maybe a CMF or a ideas set of Groundhog Day would give us a woodchuck one day I am waiting for the sheep mould also in a City farm theme, but those darn kids only want police sets
-
First of all it is a Lego set so the animals can do what they like, second a medieval household like that most likely would have had several types of animals, put them on the other side of the house if you think they are spooked by the forge (as a biologist I think habituation would cure them of the sounds from the forge anyway). The problem is that there is not tons of other sets with animals nor are all of them on B&P and they always cost a lot, so when a set like this comes around we hope that we will for once get a few animals in it. When we do not of course some of us is disappointed however that do not mean that we hate the set. I for one think the building looks good and more useful than the original, but that the animals would have been the cherry on the cake. So if the designer or someone else from TLG reads this they know that animals are important in a set like this and next time hopefully include a more generous menagerie
-
Yes, but the real question is why it is so hard for Lego to include animals in sets? It is only plastic, just another brick in the wall so if a set has 2000 parts why should it matter if 1 or 10 of those parts are animals? Take a look at Playmobil they have no issues with putting a lot of animals in sets Yes I voted for it and mostly agree with your excellent points. To me the animals were the most important for the same reasons as you! I long for a civilian castle build set to extend my Mill Village/Medieval Market Village. The original was way to big, but looks like Lego have made it smaller like I hoped they would do so maybe they will fit together now. Minifigs, mostly civilian, but I like that they included falcon soldiers, however 4 figs is not a lot..

I think the building looks good and it is great to get a new tan horse However where is the rest of the animals I understand if they did not have the budget for a goat, but why not throw in a pig instead that was in 2 sets last year? there are several owls to choose from other sets in production so how hard can it be to include one? the chickens/hens can not be so hard to include either since they where in a set not long ago? if they can not include the new hare in a new normal colour, why not just include a rabbit? Why is it so hard to include animals in sets?! 10 years ago 7189 Mill Village Raid a normal retail set with half the price managed to include a new horse colour, a new pig colour, 3 brand new chickens/hens in 2 different colours and 2 brand new goats and now in a similar set made specifically to please fans for twice the price we get a new horse colour (and the old husky) and that is it
-
The tan horse is great to get, but that was almost the minimum they could give us so on the animal side I think the set is disappointing
