  1. I disagree. Ther are quite a few sets that either match or come under the $0.10 barrier: All the Modulars & Mini Modulars, Maersk Train, Tower Bridge, VW Camper, almost all the Creator sets, etc. I just think its a case of town sets having more specialized/expensive parts.
  2. Greetings. I'm in Atlanta as well, midtown area. When you go in discovery mills ask Scott about he DixieLUG group.
  3. LOTR for one important reason, brick-built walls.
  4. Excellent job with Dumbledore's podium.
  5. I suggest you get the Fire Brigade. Not only is it going out of production soon, but it's a very cool build.
  6. I discussed this in the comments section, but there is an issue with the larger panels. I would need to reduce he width by four studs to use those panels, otherwise I'd still need two, 2x2x1 panels to fill th extra space. Now that's not such a big deal because I could have a tiled path connecting the tiled front and back. You could have all your extra mini figs lined up around the building, waiting for the iPhone 5. It would make it easier to look inside, but I didn't have enough of them to try it. I might hit BL for the ones I need and try it out. How do you think a modular street would look with an alley breaking up the buildings? Also, do you folks like the grey facade over the front, or would it look better without, having the same glass cube feel as the rear? The tan doesn't mean wood; some Apple Stores do have tan floors. If the set is made, I'm sure Lego will adjust the colors at Apple's request.
  7. These are all great.
  8. Lego has access to better trans clear bricks than I. I'm sure they'll have a better solution.
  9. I made the first major revision to the Apple Store giving it a second floor and adressing the issue of it looking good from all sides. I also added Woz and his Segway.
  10. Take all your sets apart and bag them. Then you will have fun building them again.
  11. Each time a new Modular is release, Lego shows it with the other current buildings. I have the high res version of this one: I'd like all the others. Does anyone know where to find them? Or has anyone tried to replicate the photos?
  12. Hold opposite sides or corners and twist gently in opposite directions.
  13. Another great vehicle. Great success!!!
  14. I like that it looks like a Lego sculpture with some blockiness.
  15. While I'm not really a member I do contribute buildings to the layout. This is at the recent Model Railroad show; it's empty because I waited till end of day to film. Make sure you watch both videos.
  16. http://microbricks.blogspot.com/ If you are interested in city building, there is an established Micropolis scale for city blocks. Adhering to that will make your combined building layout gel. http://twinlug.com/micropolis-micro-city-standard/
  17. You can raise the tracks a little with ballast, check out the Train section for ideas, so it will look better when crossing over water.
  18. There is no jetpack in the movies that matter. But I'm with you on the hologram. You Brits tried that with us a while back. Back on topic...I love it, and I actually passed on the SSD because I knew this was coming. Something I foud humerous, was the presentation difference between the German and English, I'm assuming, designers.
  19. I like the new layout. I think you should turn the two houses around so the fronts are on your main street and getrid of the road behind them. Just have a U shape that wraps around Pet Shop. Then you could make a nice greenspace/park behind the houses. Use a T-Junction or the curve, the one you had behind Apple Tree House, behind Fire Brigade instead of the cross.
  20. Can't you just twist the floor a little to solve the problem? I've done that with a MacBook Pro whose lid wouldn't sit completely flush so Lego it should be easy.
  21. I especially like the bank.
  22. I think the fountain would work if there were more space around it; maybe make it a half circle and integrate it into the elevator side of that back area. On the non-elevator side, you could make that side shorter and make the bottom window the top part of the door which would be on ground floor.
  23. I would buy Vaders Tie or the AT-ST used. Both are really cool.
