Going back I noticed it now. The perspective threw me off as I thought the water area ta the back was deeper than it is. Top notch park BTW.

Shame its not eligible because its a great park. One question though, if this has a building on either side, and presumably many others, how do you access the service area?

Greetings from a guy in Scotland

Your accent is barely noticible...weird. -
Whether or not it was planned, the little bit of wall color you see above each step looks very nice.

I take him at his word and when you get down to it sometimes one brick solution is the best and obvious solution. Using the windows for example, if you want them to stick out a bit because its more interesting than flush with the walls you can either do what was done, use jumpers to offset by half a stud, or use a bricks with one stud on the side to hold plates and tiles in place. Since this is hinged, jumpers don't look as good from the inside, the plate/tile solution wouldn't work because he wanted to hold the shutters in place. So you're left with the obvious solution, which is what was done. Its like the front doors on the modular Town Hall, someone else came up with that solution, but its the best and obvious one. So aside from obvious structure solutions, I saw plenty of detail differences between the two houses so I look at the similarities as coincidences.

Unless Natelite has changed it, I see the speech balloon over the clown, not the mime.

REVIEW : 9498 Saesee Tiin's Starfighter
gotoAndLego replied to aayla-secura's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Why do military planes have ejector seats? Why would pilots need to get out of their planes? I have to say that its more complex of a build than I would have assumed. I figured it was just like Plo-Kloon's. -
That looks great.

There are a lot of detail differences between the haunted houses, while those eBay sellers had carbon copied the MOCs. If I choose the sell an MOC on eBay, I don't feel like I have to credit Lego for their established techniques. And that's what's going on here, the haunted house has an establised visual style whcih if you deviate from is no longer perceived as a haunted house. So what's left is the color choice and build techniques, many of which have been around for a while.

That's great. Now all you need is one of the new horses in white so it can be reared up during the fight.
-
You can also look at it as give and take, no one takes issue with fans basing their modular MOCs on the structure of official sets. How many variations of Cafe Corner have we seen over the years? I would be fine with an official set being based on my MOC.
-
Well you have to put all those cars somewhere.
-
I was addressing Johnny. He should be able to do that math.
-
You can approximate based on the weight per piece of other large sets.

If two things are not the same in most ways, then they do not resemble eachother; believe me I've tried telling girls that I resemble Brad Pitt from Fight Club, and that never worked. Perhaps you could tell us why you think it resembles yours, because I see no indication aside from both being greenish. Perhaps something was lost in the translation, but usually when someone says an official set looks similar to their MOC, *cough* Super Star Destroyer *cough*, its because the two are very similar. No one is twisting your words, your MOC looks nothing like the set, and therefore it does not resemble your set. Maybe you should have said that if you squint it looks vaguely like yours. Now back on track, I'm buying the hell out of this. I actually prefer that its hinged for access as opposed to the floors removing like a traditional modular building.

The roof should be high enough to drive a tractor trailor semi underneath, and you should be able to see the height of the price sign from the photo I sent.

Rather than including fall colors I think there should be seasonal versions because someone might only want green trees. That way you could buy summer, autumn, and winter versions of all the trees.

'STAR WARS DARK BUCKET' project has reached 10K supporters on
gotoAndLego replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Lego made it perfectly clear long ago that the bucket, without modifications, would not be approved. So file that under "Duh". -
Maybe he got his butt kicked in a bar-fight.

Well obviously you should knock down a wall to make room for your MOCs. I've been known to move a book off a shelf myself.

LT, I emailed you the pics, did you get them?

Very very nice. I think you should expand the width to include the two outter towers.

Maybe this year's Winter Village set will be a snow covered Bag End. Play features could include Gandalf as Santa; Sauron getting coal in his stocking; and Merry & Pippin decorating the Ents. "You. Shall not pass!!! If you were naughty."
