  1. WTF! I use one of the most basic layouts as theme and now it turned Pink. It gave me a good laugh! But, sorry to say, I changed it back in less than 3 seconds
  2. What about something of the other 'Great Three' Modern Architects. Besides Frank Lloyd Wright and now Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier is left. Especially Villa Savoye is a must for the architecture line. Or they just release the model of BIG from Denmark of the LEGO Towers ;) (Just joking about that) But for those who haven't seen it.. click
  3. Looks pretty good. I really like the interior, that's just awesome! Might use that sometime. What I don't like, for me as an architecture student, is the thickness of the columns. In the original design they are supposed to be slender, something they are not in this model.. They might have used bars or poles instead of bricks here. Besides that, excellent one and interesting choice to pick this building.
  4. If you turn my username around I would have won ;) The amount of built containers is just immense! Congratulations to the lucky winners
  5. Although my chances in this raffle are small, I still want to attend. Everybody got the same chance to win! I proudly present you my toilet-container with two toilets and a urinal, transportable to every spot. The only problem is that the doors cannot be locked. To bad for the lady who finds this out the hard way. Good luck everyone!
  6. 8) Cheerleader, Surfer & Tennis Player Entry (Build by Cutlass_Iz) - 1 point (It might be on the edge, but it gave me a good smile) 14) Tribal Hunter, Mexican & Tribal Chief Entry (Build by George G.) - 1 point (Nice combination of minifigs) 17) Diver, Surfer & Fisherman Entry (Build by Cecilie) - 1 point (Very neat waterfall, jump dude!)
  7. 3) Fisherman Entry (Build by cimddwc) - 1 point (Best fisherman entry) 7) Pilot Entry (Build by Dan Church) - 1 point (Clever way of connecting parts) 43) Space Villain Entry (Build by pombe) - 1 point (I love the micro SP wagon) My love for different scales in one MOC wins again..
  8. Haha! Nice one. This big load of food will do the trick
  9. CHALET WITH WINTER SPORTS SHOP Theme: Town / Winter Minifig 1: Skater Boy Minifig 2: Skier Minifig 3: Snowboard Girl Outside Story: When the snow had come to the village of mister Skater Boy, he had to find another activity instead of skateboarding. He was lucky to find that there was a vacancy open in the local Winter Sports Store. He now works as employee and advises the customers about the latest developments and trends in skiing, snowboarding etc. The shop is always crowded; Pepper is about to buy new goggles, while on the first floor the skier (well known of his performance is Series 2) is handing his skis to the wax-dude, who got the right tools for waxing. And because of the fresh snow a third employee has to clean the street, while my sigfig is enjoying the snow. The now invisible Snowboard girl is doing some illegal stuff, she's about to drop in from the roof, she's sitting on the ridge, where you can see the pushed snow. Ground floor First floor
  10. This is an excellent model! I like his head and the white shoulder pads the most. You used some nice techniques to connect all the parts to each other.
  11. I finished my entry for cat. B last Sunday, but I didn't have the chance to take pictures till next week. I hope nobody has the same idea in mind, to keep it original.. But we'll see!
  12. Most of these cars are just awesome! I accidentally saw Cars 1 this weekend on tv, they nailed that V8 station pretty good! And Guido is just to lovely!
  13. Congrats to the winners! It was an amazing contest with lovely MOC's, the level was high. And thanks for the votes I got for my not-winning entry. (Maybe I overlooked it, but is there also a topic for the other HP contest?)
  14. Lord of the Fries, I just saw your entry in cat B. Nice idea, but the punk is from the fourth Series. You must've made a mistake here
  15. Oky - 1 point Cara - 1 point Dix - 1 point Geertos13 - 1 point maydayartist - 1 point
  16. tin7_creations - 1 point Excellent dragon, with the use of not so many bricks. And I love two different scales in one MOC. My favorite! Matn - 1 point Same thing about the scale as above. Nice idea to attach legs and arms to the broom. Skalldyr - 1 point Awesome broom. Lovely in all it's details. Not in the last place the colour palette. Edit: make names bold
  17. I hope I improved my entry enough last week to get some votes. We'll see. Good luck everyone!
  18. Nice to see this competition popping up again. I didn't attend the first two, but I will attend this 3th one. Probably category B, and if my mind and time allows also C. Besides that I already got a small question for category A&B (as they are quite similar in rules). The end of rule 5 (in cat. A and rule 7 in cat. B) says: Can we use these parts besides the chosen figure. If I, for example, pick the diver from Series 1, can I also add the pompom's from the same Series? I think the answer is yes, but to be sure.. Edit: And already two excellent entry's for cat. C! I had a big laugh about them!
  19. A last minute update. I made some changes during the past days, I hope I make slightly more chance now.
  20. Found out about this competition a week ago and build a small piece this weekend. This is a nice competition, nice uploads already! My vig is now up, I hope you like it! Good luck everyone!
  21. Brom Kronos 3/4 Giant This little guy (3.6m; ~12ft) is born from a Giant father and a 1/2 Giant- 1/2 Muggle mother in Kotyli, Greece. Brom can easily be recognized by his pickaxe, what he got for his 11th birthday, before going to Durmstrang Institute for Magical Learning and wearing since. He is a kind Giant who likes to help other people with there issues. Brom helps them all; Giant, wizard or Muggle. He especially like to help wizards and Muggles when they need some extra height. But when they offer his a glass of Firewhiskey inside as a gratitude, a offer he can't resist, he gets in trouble. It's all so tiny inside! Luckily, this house has a void, but I don't want to know how he got in, or how he is getting out again. [just the vignette, without Brom in it]
  22. Looks pretty good! I like that scale :)
  23. Thanks for all the positive feedback I appreciate it. That double window is not really a new piece, I had it in my first LEGO System set around 20 years ago in yellow. But this one is indeed from the Burrow set, to bad Lego changed the way the window-frame are attached, so it doesn't allow my old window-frames to fit in..
  24. The Leaky Cauldron Introduction Built by Daisy Dodderidge around 1500 "to serve as a gateway between the non-wizarding world and Diagon Alley", the Leaky Cauldron has remained a famous and popular place for five hundred years. Located not in Diagon Alley proper but on the outside, on Charing Cross Road in the heart of London, the pub is "tiny" and "grubby-looking," sandwhiched between a book shop and a record shop where passing Muggles don't seem to be able to see it. Today, the shop is owned and run by a toothless old man named Tom. The tavern sees quite a lot of traffic and is frequently crowded. While this can be partly attributed to its reputation as a welcoming place, it also seems to largely be due to it location as a hub for Diagon Alley. For example, Muggle-born wizards arriving by foot or by underground must pass through the Leaky Cauldron to reach Diagon Alley; fireplaces here serve as the Floo connection between Diagon Alley and the rest of the wizarding world; and when the Knight Bus drops Harry off for Diagon Alley, it is at the Leaky Cauldron's front door. To reach Diagon Alley from the pub, wizards enter a small walled courtyard behind the building and tap the brick wall, which then opens up to allow them to pass through. Source: Harry Potter Lexicon. The Build I never build with a brick limit before. But it was harder then I expected. I kept under the limit by using big bricks for structural use. Parts that aren't that important to be very detailed, like the black wall (2x6x3) and I used a lot of 1x1x5 and 1x2x5 bricks. This gave me some air for detailing. I made it for more than half in LDD to check the brickcount and found out I used only around 800 bricks. I broke down some parts and rebuild it. I also added a floor. And I have to say that I like it a lot more. There are some excellent MOC's around, but I want to update mine to give myself a little more chance. And here it is! Hey, who do we got there, walking on Charing Cross Road? Ah, my sigfig! To bad that he's not a wizard and can only enter the small book shop next to The Leaky Cauldron. A shot from Diagon Alley for all you wizards. That small court (with the young wizarding lady) is the only direct access, from the Muggle world to the Diagon Alley. Just tap the wall and it opens. On the left is a small private parlor with a wizard performing his dark magic tricks and on the right side the kitchen / bar. (see link below for detailed shots) Mr. Wizard just left his guest room. He's on to some real shopping in Diagon Alley. The other rooms are empty - not rented. Let's take of the roof and go inside! Tom and the other guests are enjoying the day. Those two guys have a lot of fun drinking Firewhiskey, will the other guest is playing cards. When you don't want to enter by door, you can always get here by the Floo network, using the fireplace. Please check my photobucket account for some more pictures. I wish I could post them, because you probably won't click the link ;) This was the trip through The Leaky Cauldron, I hope you enjoyed the show. We're always open for a wizarding visit. Good luck to all the participants! May the best bricker win! kciR
  25. While working on my MOC for the Winter Break contest (which I probably upload tonight) I had a bunch of other ideas, which I couldn't fit into my MOC, but want to show you nevertheless. The first is a micro version of the Diagon Alley. With all the main shops and buildings on micro scale, each with their own characteristics. Microscale is a lovely scale to work on! MOC in original state. Opened up. From left to the right a gate, Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, Quality Quidditch Supplies, Gringotts Wizarding Bank, a statue, Eeylops Owl Emporium, Ollivander's, The Leaky Cauldron. My second creation: Greyback makes the Dark Mark appear after killing his victim. (Too bad the snake doesn't exist in grey) She screamed for help in her last second, but it was already to late. Another view. I hope you enjoyed these two small MOCs.
