I go with L@go, I also though it were hd- renders (if it's true, they are excellent), but who am I to judge you on that topic. If your build is real, it's not that much work to take it, for example, outside and shoot some pictures. And otherwise, order the bricks and build it :) As you're chances are that high in winning the competition. But I think the rules are clear, saying that only brick build entries allowed. (I hope I don't cut myself in my fingers by giving my opinion)

Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 6 Building Contest
kciR replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Let's play Lego Games! Minifigure: Minotaur Theme: City The Minotaur has to sit on the other chair. Kid: 'Heroica is so awesome! Let's play another round.' Minotaur: 'No! That Goblin King has at least been defeated 15 times. Now it's time for my favourite game: Minotaurus!' -
Thanks for all the positive feedback, I appreciate it I didn't take any pictures of it, but I can take them of course. (You'll have to wait till Saturday, as I am in the front facade building and my MOC is in the back facade building (at my parents house) ) If you mean the part between the two nougat walls. I wanted to make it as realistic as possible, so I don't think I will add texture to this part. But thanks for the critics. About your last words, I can't promise, as I'm not planning a whole street. But to quote J. Bieber: Never say never!

B-RM-06D I finished this MOC some weeks ago, but only took pictures of it yesterday. So hereby I present you my latest MOC: a modular house. It is a combination of the two houses I live in. The front facade is the facade of the building I'm currently in, located in the city centre of The Hague. I rent a small room within this house (I'm still studying ). The back of the building is from my parents house, where I stay most weekends and my Legos are. I adjusted both facades a bit, so they could be combined. The front facade is in fact 4 stories (but than it would become to high) and the extension on the back has been shorted a lot to create a small garden. My modular On the pavement I created a small garden and added a ticket machine for parking (I don't know what that's called) And now the interior: The ground floor contains a living room, dining table, kitchen and toilet. Another shot of the ground floor. The bedroom and working space on the first floor. The attic is pretty cramped. I but a microscale train landscape in here, with four micro trains. But they are not visible. Might take better pictures.. The house together with my Pet Shop. The back of all the buildings. Well, this is the end of the show. I hope you enjoyed it

I really was doubting if anybody would dare to recreate a building of Calatrava, when this contest started. (Same goes for GaudÃ) Those organic shapes are a pain to recreate in Lego and especially on this scale. But, as Tragic Banjo said, this one's instantly recognizable! You might add some plates (or tiles, but I don't think that's possible) underneath the white 1xX plates, to make a fuller wing on top.. But it's already very good!

REVIEW: 853309 New York Exclusive Tag and Figure Keychain
kciR replied to Roger Rabbit's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think they took the heart design from the 'I (love) NY' Lego book by Christoph Niemann. Nice keychain though! -
I just wanted to say that I really like this competition. So that's what I am doing with this post. Many great creations are popping up already! I'm still doubting about what building to recreate. It's pretty hard to make that decision.

Here's the promised picture. Sorry for the bad quality, but I think it shows the issue. I put it in a link, because it is slightly off topic.. What I did is putting them symmetrical and in line, so it looks like as a handle or something. The 2x3 windows have the same spots, but those are in the corner. OK, let's talk about the TH again
-
Yes, sure. I will take a picture tomorrow. It's too dark now.
-
I had this issue also with all the windows in my Pet Shop, which I bought approx. 2 months ago.. I don't think they can do a lot to fix this problem.. (or they have to change the mold)

I only have to get rid of my girlfriend (well, that's not worth it..) Good strategy Lego, good looking Lego-models and good looking designer-models.. (Oh, Lego is a real mans-world isn't it. One lady and half of the posts is about her )

Finally! That was a nice vid! I really was expecting Jamie to sit there, but Astrid seems to be a good alternative I might have missed some details she showed. About the building, as I'm more into Pet Shop styled buildings, the Town Hall seems too large to be added to my collection.. So I might skip this one. BUT I have to admit that it looking really good, I like the monumental entrance and the detailing on the front facade. The roof-light might be the coolest thing of this set, I bet we'll see it popping up in MOCs sometime soon. I also like the void, but it might be a bit to big, because of this, the interior is a bit cramped in my opinion. In my eyes modulars have to be static, the are for looking at, not for playing, so the elevator is not my cup of tea.. So, my conclusion. A really nice addition to the modular series, with some new techniques and bricks. Astrid knows how to build I thinks we'll see a lot of MODs in the future, that people will make it wider. But all summed up, I don't thinks I will buy it.. (I have a hard time typing this last sentence, so I'm not totally sure yet)
-
Merry is also missing with just those three sets, but he is included in Weathertop.. Well, let see what time brings

Did anyone notice (I didn't read all the posts ) that the goblins in Moria use the Uruk-shield. That's a pity, because I really like those wing shaped shield they have in the movies. I might get the Gandalf set, Shelob and Moria. I like to have the whole Fellowship, but I don't think my wallet allows me to buy all the sets. But the prices for just the minifigs (on Bricklink or something similar) will be sky-high.. doubt..
-
No, they used a lightsaber shaft in the Pet Shop.

These mocs are looking good! The exterior of the butcher has a nice color combination, along with some nice details, as the cheese-slope paving. But what I really like are the interiors of both buildings. It's packed with details and good looking bricks! I recognized the comic racks ( ), but you made them even better by placing the brown parts in the middle to create two sides.

This is a really nice board! Totally in line with the official boards. What are the rules for the rubble piles with the dagger? You're son should be proud :)
-
Well, the berserker uses a sword that looks like a pickaxe, but is way longer. Look for example at this picture. I hope they will make a new mold for it, but we'll see.
-
I think those studs represent glasses, or am I mistaken? I like them! The bow tie is a nice detail
-
This is pretty awesome! I really didn't expect this to happen, besides all the rumors in this topic. The only thing I wish for are good sets that stay true to the books (or probably the movies). And hope for some expert sets, like they made for Star Wars. But if I'm correct, they release the whole trilogy at once in the summer of 2012, and they split the hobbit into two parts. That means, no extra sets besides the key-parts of LotR, but we'll see. We get at least a whole bunch of dwarves for The Hobbit!

Thanks for the link. Really nice that LEGO gives us a vote. I voted Habitat 67 (twice) as this building is really interesting in my modest opinion. The third vote went to HSB Turning Torso, cause I'm curious how they would make this one. Probably with 2x2 jumper plates (or 2x2 plate with one stud).
