  1. 2) The Lord of the Rings scene - Elf and Dwarf Warrior Entry (Build by Thor Lund) - 1 point 4) Godzilla vs. King Kong - Gorilla and Godzilla Entry (Build by lisqr) - 1 point 5) Dumbo scene - Clown, Ringmaster and Circus Clown Entry (Build by Oky) - 1 point
  2. Nice build again! I noticed in your flickr stream that you're using the grey dishes quite often lately, is this another challenge like the tan arches? Or just coincidence?
  3. I just visited my local LEGO store, on hunt for the lizard man. I picked up four packs at random, as I didn't want to bother the cashier with the feel-test. But instead of just picking four he asked, 'which fig do you want, let's hunt it'. After 15 bags I got what I wanted. That's what we call service! I also picked up another snowboarder and monkey-lady, all €1,85 each!
  4. Wow. Why has nobody replied to this one yet? All of your models looks extremely good, from the first tiny, but sleek one till the last racer. I love the details on the interior and the stearing technique of the Alpha Angel. Are you planning to build these in real bricks?
  5. Sorry for my late reply, but I've been out of town for nearly a week (I went to a music festival), so I wasn't albe to reply. Again thanks for all the comments and replies! I really appreciate it. Thanks for the pictures, they are very neat. I might do a little research on this Yeah, 'sonicstarlight' also mentioned this. You are quite right on this. I'll order the bricks in (dark) red with my next BL order. Thanks for this one. You talk just like my architecture tutor (and that's not a bad thing), that a building should be one coherent piece and shouldn't be contradictory. If I'll do a remake, I'll keep this in mind for sure. Cheers!
  6. Thank you guys. I really appreciate your feedback Of course you can use this idea. If you got any questions please let me know and maybe you can improve it a bit more! First I wanted to use the 2x2 tiles as cd-cases, but when I looked closely they had more the size of vinyl. Where the 1x1 tile has a better scale for cd-cases.
  7. Sorry, you're right. I messed up with Hey Boy, Hey Girl, which also uses visuals of people dancing. I did found a Do It Again video of Glastonbury '07. This is the video, but you probably have seen it to make this MOC, thumps up Sorry for this offtopic talk
  8. Thanks to all again for the kind words. I really appreciate it I wasn't planning on making a modular street, so that's why I accepted those ends of headlight bricks. It can be easily changed though, if I'm planning to continue building modulars. I guess you mean the long cd rack (left and right can be interpreted differently). The one with the police tile is made with a brick with studs on four sides. I made this LDD render for you to show how it works. As you can see on the left, every row is one component, which are put together to make one display. I used four colors to make it more easy to understand: red - plate, grey - jumper, brown - tile, black - headlight brick. I made this guitar some time ago from bricks from 5984 - Lunar Limo, with the addition of two bricks. That's the reason for a black guitar. I don't have the sloped bricks in a different color, but I might order these bricks with the next BL order. It's worth to try.
  9. Nice models, from one of the best Series ever made! The real brick models look way better than the LDD pictures (even though the design is more or less the same). Good photography too!
  10. Nice build, I really like this stage! The amount of details in the gear is great! The 'guys' in the back remind me of Chemical Brothers performance on Glastonbury 2011, which I saw on BBC. The visuals were crazy. You might check that on YouTube if you didn't saw it already.
  11. First, thanks to all the positive feedback and liking it! What are you pointing at exactly? Will this do? Otherwise I take a new picture tomorrow (it's now to dark). That was indeed done with purpose That's my favorite sticker ever. I just had to include it.
  12. Two of the best things in the world (for me) are Lego and music, I've visited many record stores in my live and love browsing through the racks and boxes. So, that's why I decided to make a modular building of a record store. (It my first modular build btw, but that doesn't matter..) I tried to give it a more modern feel than the usual classical façades on modular builds. As an architecture student I tried to search for something interesting within the façade. I came up with a combination of vertical and horizontal lining. Which turned out pretty good in my opinion. The front façade from birds view, where you can see the roof light. A detail of the guitar on the front façade. The most challenging part of this build where the cd-racks. There had to be some space between the records to create a realistic rack. The key to the final rack was the headlight brick. The store has an entresol (like the pet shop) where the vinyl is located, the cd's and dvd's can be found on the ground floor. The ground floor also has two places to preview the cd your interested in. Listen before you buy. The back façade used to have three windows on the first level, but they are closed with wooden panels. The shop assistant is taking a short break and checking his mail on his notebook. The window on ground level had a small planter, but those guys don't like plants so they just put a gnome there. (When I build this window, it looked for me like a microscale balcony) At last the minifigures Shop owner (M-tron fan) and 3 visitors Emo-hair dudes, I love the third lad. The most right is my sigfig, always included in my MOCs It was a fun build, now I'm going to store my bricks again, as summer is over. (I don't have place for bricks at my house(/room), so I can only build during holidays at my parents) I'm most proud of the guitar, the record racks and the handrail of the stairs, they turned out pretty good. Thanks for watching and reading.
  13. It's quite last minute, but my entries are up. I'm far from satisfied with the pictures, but time's up. I love this build, especially the cat. B, but a 16x16 vig is way to small for 16 minifigs, but that's my opinion. Good luck everyone, now it's time to sleep. Alarm sets in 6 hours.
  14. At first, my apologies for the low quality pics, it's quite last minute.. The pictures don't do justice to the build. But the build was more than lovely, I just love creating minifigs. The story: All minifigs from different era's landed somehow on a beach together. Their change to survival was quite small, the only way they could survive (or at least do things they like or are supposed to do) was by working together. So that's what happened. Here you can see all the layers of earth that lie beneath the island. The miner is digging a hole in search for minerals, while the Nobel-award winner, who gained the price for inventing tnt, joins and provides dynamite. The archaeologist benefits from this extraction in search for bones and other interesting objects. The job of the scavenger is to clean all the mess on the island, but I think he takes away to much 'garbage'. At the same time, the cyclops and the cosplayer are in hunt for food with their massive weapons. They found a fresh monkey and go for a chase. But beware of monkey friend Tarzan! The carpenter stokes the fire, while the rebel screams to the fire to burn. (We all know the song 'Burn mother..) Near the water asks the princess for help, by just smiling lovely to the see in hope someone comes to the rescue. The water skier takes faith in her own hands by riding a fish to bring her to mainland. The pimp just ordered a pizza, those pizza boys deliver everywhere, if you pay the price. But make it a fair trade. Finally the bad boys: a thief, who initially escaped Guantanamo Bay, found himself being trapped to a stone with handcuffs. The space pirate now fights the final battle for the title 'Ultimate Bad boy' with a short legged, but oh so fearful Western villain. Thief - handcuffs Rebel - megaphone Scavenger - trash picker / container Cosplayer - longsword Water skier - water skies / swim suit PIMP - suitcase with dollar bill Miner - drill Tarzan - monkey Western villain - two guns Cyclops - wooden club Archaeologist - brush / skull Carpenter - wood / hammer Please click here to see the last four minifigs Nobel Award winner - trophy / dynamite Princess - crown / scepter Space pirate - gun Pizza delivery boy - pizza / helmet
  15. Last minute entry. It's already dark here, so I wasn't able to take good pictures It's for the punk rocker. His guitar got stolen while doing a little pee on a portable toilet just before hitting the stage on a music festival.. For fig with punk click here Goog luck everyone!
  16. I was also quite surprised that there are only 4 entries at this moment in cat. B, it should be a lot more. I'm waiting on some BL orders for my entry. But due to some thesis writing I can't start building before the last weekend, so I'm hoping that not all my ideas pop up in other entries. And thumbs up to the uploaded entries in both categories!
  17. You're quite and excellent builder TMC. I always love your builds, very clever and new techniques. I love microscale, and you never seem to fail in providing eyecandy.
  18. Wow! These are so neat! The face for Marowak is so awesome. Excellent use of this piece.
  19. I went to the store in search for the new Cars series and some minifigures (skater and soccer guy). Didn't find them both, but picked up Lunar Limo for €20. I couldn't leave it! And I flipped through the minifigure box, but the feeling didn't work out so well as the other days, so I picked one randomly (with a bit of feeling of course) and it turned out to be a Musketeer, not that bad though!
  20. Is this date also the launch date of the Cars series? Because I just went to the store in search for some sets, but I couldn't find them yet.
  21. Finally the press pictures! Thanks for them! I have to admit that I like the Pet shop quite a lot, especially the combination with the house on the upper levels, the void looks good in there. The brown-orange house looks rather plain on the inside, this one needs some modding. I'm still not sure about this set.. Ah, I missed the movie at first sight. It says that they picked elements from all the previous buildings to add to this one. That sort of explains the similarities ;)
  22. I tried to pick two from each theme (PQ, Ninjago and Atlantis) for a vote, and the one I liked the most gets and extra vote.. 4/ PQ Chess by Oky Wan Kenobi - 1 points (Totally within the spirit of the contest) 6/ Museum of Antiquities by TooMuchCaffeine - 1 point (The museum I liked the most) 23/ Serpent Ruins by Siercon and Coral - 2 points (MOC is just awesome, I missed it out in the topics, for what I'm ashamed, but the amount off detail is just stunning!) 39/ The Dojo and the underground by arlutik - 1 point (Stunning dojo from the outside and lovely fold out) 29/ The Jellyfish Cafe by gabe - 1 point (I fell in love with this concept, nice one) 38/ Colosseum of Atlantis by Brick_Tom - 1 point (TLG could have made this one, great design)
  23. When reading through all the posts, I feel a bit disappointment among the most of you. But I was just rushing when I saw the pictures. Maybe we're all a bit to spoiled by great MOC's of modular buildings. I think this one has some nice techniques that, at least TLG never used before, like the window above the entrance of the residential house, just lovely! This one will be better when you actually build it, I guess.. And finally a modular with back decoration, don't forget to mention that. And what detail I love the most at this point is the void in the house. I can't remember having this seen in any set before.. I'm thinking of getting this, but I told my girl not to get any new sets (soon).. damn. See'll understand
  24. I got my first figs from this Series. I got the punk rocker and hazmat guy by feeling and the werewolf as random package. I felt a bit ashamed feeling all the bags in the shop, so I left it with these 3. Will come back for more..
  25. This one looks very nice! The amount of small object is huge, what makes it a real pleasure to see it. I recognized the fork-loader immediately from a topic, this was also a design of you?
