  1. GK, where did you see pics of Kopaka and Melum? I've not noticed them in either leak so far.
  2. OK, further thoughts on the new pics: Tahu: Looks pretty cool. Doesn't have the huge torso shells on his legs anymore, the new armour add-on looks nice, and his masks seems cool from what little I can make out. Seems they went way overboard on the gold though, particularly since they all come with a gold version of their mask too. Like the weapon piece (shared with Lewa in another colour) but wondering what the blob of technic on the handle is for. Is that a function, or just attachment? Onua: Not quite as distinctive as his 2015 form, but still seems pretty bulky. Seems as though he's taller now too, which is good. Like the shoulder pads, and the mask seems good. Also really like the huge, double handed drill hammer. can't tell is shoulder pads are trans or solid purple. Ikir: Definitely a phoenix. Looks pretty cool, I think those wings are technic based. Not sure that the "mask" is. Like that they're fighting little animal traps, and that all the traps have different legs. Terak: That's a mole alright. Lots of nice trans purple. Big paws. Think I'm gonna like this guy.
  3. Where did you see a Rahkshi leg? I can't make one out anywhere, and I find it hard to believe they'd use it.
  4. Liking what I see s far. The toa look more... menacing somehow. Lewa: Glad he's ditched the keetorange. Mask looks cooler too. Not sure what the heck those weapons are supposed to be though. Gali: Kinda glad the yellow's gone too. I like my colour schemes main colour + monochrome. So the "rhotuka esque" thing is a decorative propeller; makes sense. Like what I can see of the new mask. Pohatu: Retains most of his 2015 look. Mask is a bit more angular. Like the silver Vorox armour. can't really say much more about him. Umarak: Dear god; those are some ugly antlers. the legs aren't exactly good looking either. Glad he has a black mask as opposed to just a gold one. Seems to reuse skull slicer's torso armour. I feel like the vorox armour may be a place holder at this stage. I hope I'm wrong though.
  5. I would have put them either on some sort of flying houses, or one clouds. I'm not suggesting Lewa shouldn't have been green. Iove that he's green, it's my favourite colour. That's why I don't like that the colour is just grafted onto the idea of a jungle setting. I'm certain lego has reason for everything they do, that's not to say I'm going to agree with them. What I think would have been netter in G2 is Onua having a connection to plants, since he's a toa of earth. it would help to differentiate the element from stone, which currently is basically the same thing. No doubt that change would be unpopular with some people too, but at least he's supposed to be in tune with the earth, unlike lewa, who's claim to the element is that he wears green armour and lived in a jungle at one point.
  6. I seems to me that they're building up to the idea that the toa were summoned from the other timeline, in which case, the lewa's are the same. Obviously though, there's no proof for that at this stage. I also don't like that Pohatu's the one with tornado powers now because: "sand... makes tornados sometimes... right?..." I get that, if Pohatu can control each sand grain, he could easily make a tornado out of them, but it seems strange to rob one character of that power, and give it to another.
  7. yes, but LEWA was an air controller that they randomly put in a jungle. the entire air village is in a jungle. In g1 there were Matoran of plantlife too. There was no reason for the air ones to be in a jungle, other than that they were green. I don't care that green is the colour plants are, I care that the air sets didn't have much of an aesthetic of their own to separate them from plantlife, to the point that the air element has now been removed entirely. It feels like there's a glaring hole in the teams elemental power without wind. I'll admit, the absence of plant control felt odd to begin with, but presumably was the result of the bizarre choice to have both earth and stone as separate elements. Kids will naturally associate green things with plants, that's a given. Lego Should have given lewa a clear, air based aesthetic (jets, vents, etc. To show that he was nothing to do with plants, rather than change his element because he happened to be green. it's changing an existing character for the sake of colour association, and it's daft. I was a staunch requester of toa of plantlife sets in g1, but changing lewa into one? that just wasn't necessary. Besides, "Jungle" isn't even an element. Plantlife or wood, sure. But jungle is a place. it's a reallt bad word to use for it.
  8. So a series of incredible short animation still finds time for a clip show? And that master of air quote, funny as it is, doesn't excuse the fact that he should have been the master of air in the first place. Poking fun at your mistakes doesn't remove them. "well, kids though of jungle when they saw the green sets" That's because you always PUT lewa in a jungle lego. YOU caused it, not the other way around! So, is this the first time the animatics have said that Makuta is controlling the spiders? how do they know? I assume Ekimu can sense it in some way, and told the toa.
  9. I agree with Jetrax. I use this site far more than bzp mainly because this place allows leaks. Having bzp as the "official site" that's cosy with lego has its uses, certainly, but in terms of actual discussion, i'd much rather be here discussing anything we can get our hands on.
  10. Totally sigging that. And I hope Melum is either a wolf, penguin, or a tiny Yeti.
  11. I now want the fire beast to be a crab. Jaller mahri vibes and all that.
  12. Hey! no one decent? I haven't trolled anyone yet ;( Here's hoping Pohatu gets some tan shells, since lego seem to be overcoming their fear of it, and purple, in recent years.
  13. One good thing about having no known leaks again is that I can go on hoping for new foot pieces. Enough with the clown shoes already! xD An yah Draik, an azure croc does sounds awesome.
  14. I agree with the idea that a tunnelling worm might be a good concept for the creature of earth, and I have a couple of idead for others: Jungle: Bird. I think it's likely they'll have a flying creature to accompany Lewa. Stone: Kangaroo. Brown, fights with its feet, perfect match for Pohatu.
  15. @DraikNova not sure, maybe a crab? can't really think of other big-clawed burrowing animals that fit better than a mole, I just really want ussal crabs back.
  16. You know, just once i'd like us to get through a leak season without everyone debating whether there should even be leaks at all. It's a fact of 21st century life, and however you or lego may feel about it, they'll keep happening. And if the sets are so non-final, I'm boggled by the fact that lego would send those pics to their retailers, when, if they're so preliminary, descriptions would be more than sufficient. I'm not saying that this justifies the leaking, I'm just wondering why lego bothers with leakable pics at such an early stage at all.
  17. His legs couldn't really grip very well, especially onto masks. it was sold as "crush anyone who gets too close", but it felt so soft and weak that it never felt like it could crush anything. Also, it looked kinda bad if any of his feet were out of alignment.
  18. wait, people hated loSS? I mean sure, it wasn't great, but that's because the legs were immoveable and the function didn't work as advertised. I'd have no problem with smaller, tighter version of that idea. Particuarly functions in things like jaws or claws rather than legs.
  19. Hmm, so Kopaka's coming packaged with another figure, presumably his creature counterpart. Either that or an exiled fire tribe Glatorian #Malum2016confirmed :P If this set shares a price point with Ekimu vs Kulta, then hopefully Kopaka will retain his size. the name "unity" would suggest that the two can combine. Hopefully this is the case, and it's not just a bad translation of 'team'. If "unity" is the new name used for combiner, that would be very fitting for Bionicle, especially since the three virtues allegedly got a big push in the recent chapter book. Hope these creatures are diverse in terms of builds. Jungle could be a monkey or bird, ice a wolf, water a fish or turtle, etc... Hope they're being controlled via corrupted masks as well, partially for nostalgia's sake, partially for MOAR MASKS
  20. "Many have lost their masks to the skull spiders, and fallen under the control of the lord of skull spiders" "My father told me stories about you and your sandstone blastertm" (In stores now!!) Nice to finally have some names and world building, as well as a description of how the summoning took place, but god, the way it was written was really distracting. Barely any contractions were used, so the dialogue sounded a bit like those books you use to teach toddlers to read. :/ Still, not gonna complain about some focus on the villagers. particularly interesting that we get told the story from the PoV of a young jungle villager...
  21. If the Toa were summoned using the mask of time, that's a pretty blatant hint that they're from the other timeline. Sure, they could be from the past or future too, but if they were confined to the Okotoverse, the mask of time is a weird choice to begin with. regarding the new Ekimu body rumours, while I hope he does get one at some stage, that's not what I took from that excerpt at all. All the book says is he goes from frail to powerful. I assume that means he goes from his emaciated coffin state back to his state from the legend. His current set form looks anything but frail. he's an absolute tank.
  22. I hope not, especially since there's nothing stopping the toa just putting their old, colour specific masks back on. The gold ones are separate, so unless they chucked the old ones, they should have a backup.
  23. Someone on reddit pointed out that the "ancient arena" that skull slicer used to be the champion of, and is seen in in this trailer, has hexagonal columns rising from the floor, exactly like the metru nui arena in G1.
  24. I know that I only ever saw it in text form, so it may well have been a transcript of an interview. I know for a fact I read this, but I wish I could give more info. it was only a few months ago, regarding Gen 2 Bionicle.
  25. I wish I could remember where I heard that >.<. I think it was from some sort of Q and A with a set designer.
